April Showers of Scents

Recommended Posts

Good Morning. I didn't melt anything yesterday. I had to take DH to the ER Saturday evening for a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. The dr. couldn't get it to stop, either, and finally had to resort to packing it, which is a very painful procedure. He'll be home from work this whole week recovering. I take him back to the dr. today for a follow up. Hopefully, they'll remove the packing. I never knew a nosebleed could be so serious! I'm going to start up a couple of melters with Coconut Macaroon from BH&G and hope DH can tolerate it.

mpfand--so sorry to hear about your husband's nose ordeal. A friend of mine had the same thing and finally they had to cauterize it and then she was good to go. Hopefully, the packing will take care of your husband's situation.

For this afternoon it is Paula Deen Fruit Punch and Yankee Buttercream.

mpfand-Hope your DH feels better. That is so scary.

It hasn't been a great day here. My laundry room ceiling collapsed because the waste pipe slit open! Absolutely disgusting and what a stench!! Had to fire up some melters down in the basement. Have some strong oldies down there-AMS Pink Noel and AMS Pink Sugar. The odor has greatly improved.

Up here it is smelling good too. Melting LSC Sweet Lemon Bread and LSC Marshmallow Noel. I still feel like I am not even making a dent in this stash. I have to pack most of it away for awhile but I will use the one box of leftover Spring and Summer melts in the garage. I am dreading my DH seeing all the wax I have to pack up for the renovation.

I hope everyone is having a better day than me.

Hi all! Today is nice breezy day at 67 degrees.

I'm melting Tara's CC Caramel Apple Creme Brulee in the living room and Peeps in the kitchen. I get consistently great throw from her tarts! [smilie=th_stophierDancedancer04

I'm melting YC's Red Velvet in the bathroom. I'm sad that this candle didn't have a stronger throw for me, because it smells delicious. [smilie=th_sad2hz1]

Mpfand - Your poor DH - that sounds scary! [smilie=th_th1ptgno] As Trep mentioned, I was wondering why they didn't cauterize it.....? Hope he got the packing out today, but that couldn't have been a barrel of fun, either.

Michele - Ohhh...my...goodness!! :o What caused the pipe to split open, or is it just something that happens?

I'm melting LOL's White Cake...kinda almond-y, but that's good A-ok with me! [smilie=th_i-m_so_happy]

Oh my gosh Michele!! [smilie=th_shout] Yikes! I am so sorry to hear about that...I hope that stink clears up and fast!! We were warned when we moved into this house that the waste pipes were now made of PVC but the brackets are still metal which could cause a split in the pipes over time. Is that what happened to you?

Oh dear Mpfand....I hope your hubby is feeling better! [smilie=th_balloons] That must have been scary!

Figuring out what to melt....

This pipe was made of cast iron and it just rusted way. My house is 18 years old and I guess it was just done.

Maggie- The plumber replaced it with PVC piping and I hope that what you said doesn't happen since the brackets are metal.

Lit up some candles for this unseasonably cool weather. Burning Colonial Simply Vanilla, YC Vanilla Satin and YC Mango Peach Salsa. I wish Spring would come and stay.

Michele...I'm sure you will be fine. We never did replace the brackets and so far so good. It sounds like it would only be a problem if the pipes shake a lot and cause a rubbing against the PVC.

Baking kale which is stinky up the house....

Melting...

Carnival Zucchini from LKC

Sweet, May is a great time to see SF! If your friend is into food, the Ferry Building has a wonderful farmer's market 3 days a week with all kinds of gourmet foods. The Embarcadero is also a good spot to catch the special light display on the Bay Bridge at night. The one typical touristy thing that's actually worth doing is to ride a cable car from Market St to Fisherman's Wharf [smilie=th_aa17]

mpfand, how scary! I hope he's feeling better [smilie=th_thanimeomega_emoticon

Candlelove, yuck! Here's hoping the PVC lasts forever and you get rid of the smell fast!

It did not quite hit 90 here today, but came darn close. Still 85 right now at 7pm but cooling fast. We're supposed to dip back down to the low 70s in a couple days. I can't keep up [smilie=th_roll]

Melting TDC Cactus & Sea Salt. Low key and undemanding.

Ew, yuck, Michele. [smilie=th_puke] I hope the new pipes hold for years and years. What a terrible mess to deal with!

I took DH to the dr. yesterday and he removed the packing. It was instant relief from the pain and pressure. His nose continued to bleed throughout the day, but nothing like Saturday night. This morning he's much better and no bleeding! Not sure why the ER dr. didn't cauterize it. Seems that would have be easier and less painful...

Melting Birthday Cake from Sassy Girl this morning. A big thank you to a sweet CF pal who shared this with me. :)

Mpfand ~ So sorry to hear about the ordeal with your DH. Glad to hear he is feeling better.

Michele ~ What a bummer! Good thing you had some strong tarts available to mask the smell.

I've only got one tart going today, but it's a good one. [smilie=th_slider_flirt]

TCCC Marshmallow Caramel Apple Cake YUMMO!

I'm only melting this one now since I got in on her sale last week and ordered a few more. [smilie=yes]
