  1. No melts yet - I have to clean out the warmers. The weather folks are predicting a high temp in the 80's again today, so I'm going to have to dig out some summer scents.
  2. Ugh it's hot outside. I stepped out to water my veggies, and it was nearly 80! I came inside and got some water for myself, too. Just doesn't feel like February, IMHO. Tonight's melt is 'Sour Cream Spice Cake' from CFTKR. Always a favorite!
  3. I just put on LOL's "Vanilla Shake Cake". It's light, but very nice.
  4. Good morning all! I'm burning a 'Vanilla Cake' three-wick candle from Simple Living. I'll be sad if they ever stop making this scent. It's my go-to candle for the living room. I love the scent, it has great throw, and you can't beat the price.
  5. Tonight we're having ziti with spicy meat sauce, and garlic bread. Salad if anyone wants it, and fresh strawberries for dessert!
  6. I just put on "Chardonnay" from Backroad Hobbies - it really does smell like wine!
  7. You solved it! I blame the handfuls of antihistamines that I've been relying on for my allergies. The names are close enough that I didn't notice the difference. Berry Bewitching Brew is the fruity one that I had in the stash, and Witches Brew is the one from my swap box. It was really nice, and I would reorder it in the future. (Though I would like to know what the "real" description is. I smell coffee, spices, and fruit... intriguing.)
  8. I'm melting Haley's 'Berry Bewitching Brew', a gift from a CF buddy. It smells wonderful, but not at all like the other bag of this scent that I already had on hand. The one that I had smells like straight fruit( apples, raspberries, oranges) mixed with cinnamon. The bag that I just received is totally different. I smell hazelnut coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, and raspberries. Smelling them side-by-side, I can tell that one of them is mislabelled, but I don't know which. At any rate, this one is just lovely, and very strong. It has filled the whole living room in about 5 minutes!
  9. Nope, not me, but my son likes it from time to time. I generally don't allow sugary drinks, but every so often it won't hurt. The person below me has a cute front door mat.
  10. I love mushrooms - cooked, fresh, or otherwise. I've never had high cholesterol Been hynotized Shopped at an A & P
  11. The weather is a bit cooler today, so I'm burning a large jar of Slatkin's "Snow Apple Mint". It is leftover from LAST winter, so I'd like to finish it up, and not store it again.
  12. Sounds good Jules! Tonight we're having homemade chicken enchiladas. I'm about to start them - delicious but time comsuming. I fry the tortillas in the morning, and make the sauce. The chicken gets cooked in the crock pot the day before. Then it takes a while to assemble and let it "set" in the fridge... but when it finally gets baked - it is all worth the work and wait!
  13. Laurie, which version of 'Glade Glistening Snow' did you prefer? I like the original (from Glade) but I've never tried an etailer version. I'm remelting Haley's 'Apple Peel Noel' in the living room, and I've added a cube of BH&G 'Pineapple Cilantro' to the bathroom. It is warm and muggy outside, and raining. With weather like this, I'm not really in the mood for winter scents.
  14. Us too! I would venture to say that it is my favorite green veggie, and the rest of the family likes it well enough.
  15. I just put on Haley's "Apple Peel Noel". I was digging around in the storage area under my bed, looking for a particular yarn for some mittens that I want to start tonight. Lo and behold, I found a USPS box full of Haley's tarts! Six bags and a couple dozen cups - I stashed it away when it arrived a few months ago, and then completely forgotten about it. Yay for finding hidden tarts!
  16. The market near my house had whole roasting chickens for 85¢/lb, so I'm roasting a few tonight. I'll serve the chicken with mashed potatoes and kale.
  17. I'm melting "Warm Vanilla Creme" from BH&G in the living room, nothing else yet. I'll clean out the warmers after school drop offs.
  18. No new melts yet, I'm still trying to decide on my scents for today. Debra, I am so sorry to hear about your dog's sudden passing.
  19. Aria, thanks for thesuggestions. I'm going to try to stop by Michael's tomorrow. I remember seeing warmers there, but I didn't really pay close attention to them at the time (since I didn't need a new warmer!) I did look at the Scentsationals site, and nothing jumped out at me. I've been avoiding Scentsy because the local rep is one of my idiot neighbors - I guess I could just order online, right? Todays melts are 'Strawberry Noel' from an unknown vendor melting in the hallway, and 'Covered Bridges' from CFTKR (from a CF buddy :) ) in the kitchen and living room areas. Today will be nice and relaxing. I had some gardening chores to do this weekend, and they're all done. Lettuce and radishes are transplanted!
  20. I do! I usually have at least two or three lined up and waiting, sometimes more if I've got some that 'need to go' because they're getting leaky or losing scent. Or, as someone else mentioned, if I hear someone on here mention liking a scent that I have in the stash, I will usually pull it to melt soon. No candles tonight, I'm going to bed early!
  21. It wasn't overly fancy, just a Scentsationals, but they don't make the same one anymore. It is cream and tan, with swirls carved into it. Matched the room nicely, and cast such pretty light patterns on the wall. I asked my firefighter-stepdad what he thought the risk might be, and he said that he wouldn't plug it in. He said that several years ago, they responded to a fire in a garage caused by someone oiling the plug of their new corded drill, to 'prevent rusting'. They plugged it in and it started sparking. The idea freaks me out. Though I like Laurie's idea about plugging it in outside... Maybe with an extension cord?
  22. I'm starting the day with "Winter Candy Apple" from Slatkin. Today I'm mourning the loss of my favorite bulb-style warmer. I unplugged it last night, before bed. After pulling the plug, I dropped it onto the table next to the warmer, as usual. Only this time, I wasn't looking, and I dropped the plug into the melted wax. I tried cleaning it off with paper towels (didn't budge) and a dull knife (scraped most of it off, but not all), and even tried warming the plug with a blast from the hairdryer, then wiping with paper towels. It looks mostly clean, but I'm still uneasy about putting it in an outlet. Seems like a possible fire hazard, right? Not sure I want to risk the house over a $20 warmer... Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to find another bulb-style for this location, and I'd prefer a cream or silver/pewter color. Ideas?
  23. Tonight I'm melting 'Jelly Donut' from Kim's Tart Candles. I'm probably going to light some candles later, but I haven't selected them yet.
  24. I received my samples from Margo's Bath and Body. The package is full of oil ( I think from the salt scrubs?) but smells very nice. I don't know which of the scents I'm smelling, or if it is a mix of the two that she included. It reminds me a lot of Avon's Skin-So-Soft bath oil - very comforting, familiar scent. I'm going to rinse these off and give them a try.
  25. I wanted to make Shepherd's Pie for dinner tonight, since it was supposed to be just me and the boy. I might change my mind though, because my husband might be home after all, and Shepherd's Pie is not a favorite of his. Maybe soup? Potato soup would be pretty good too.
