  1. I started the day with 'Crispy Apples' by Scentsationals, and now I'm putting on BH&G 'Orange Buttercream Cupcake.'
  2. I've been melting 'Rice Crispies' from Kim's - a nice light vanilla marshmallow scent. Very nice.
  3. This week I've been melting through a pile of fall bakery scents from Kim's Tart Candles. I over-ordered this fall, and I'm afraid that they won't hold over the summer. So far I've gone through bags of 'Pumpkin Cheesecake', 'Pumpkin Bread', and 'Grannie's Apple Butter'. All smelled great, and were very strong for about 6 hours before they died down. I'll reorder these scents in the fall.
  4. Makes me wonder what a "Calypso MacApple" would smell like... probably pretty great!
  5. This morning I'm melting Haley's "Butternut Pumpkin" in the living room. It smells amazing - very realistic, not too much cinnamon, and it is INSANELY strong.
  6. I'm burning a 'Lemon Pound Cake' candle from MVP, and melting a small sample-sized 'Banana Nut Muffin' tart from an unknown vendor. It's starting to smell great in here!
  7. Tonight we're making pizza and a salad - always a big hit.
  8. Hmmm... Those sound like very "Laurie-friendly" notes! And the description that Maggie found is vague enough that it could be the same...
  9. So much for a creamy-dreamy vanilla scent. I went searching, and found a few others that tickled my nose. OMG Candles "Pink Divinity Cheesecake" - this one is soy, and doesn't have much scent cold. I let it sit, thinking that the scent would show up, but it has been months, and nada. We'll just have to see how it melts. Kim's Tart Candles "Cotton Candy" - another oldie, and the last one in the bag. Have a great night everyone!
  10. Laurie - I feel exactly the same way. Unless it is really yucky, I try to squeeze out all of the scent. This afternoon's melts were 'Strawberry Margarita' and 'Lick Me All Over', both from Backroad Hobbies. I'm not sure what I want to melt tonight. I think I'm going to find something rich and sweet, with lots of vanilla, minimal spice. I'll update later.
  11. Nothing is smelling right today. I melted CFTKR "Covered Bridges" for a while, but turned it off because it just wasn't what I was in the mood for. After that, I melted Kim's "Grannie's Homemade Apple Butter", and it fizzled into straight-up cinnamon after about 30 minutes. I just put on "Bite Me" from Backroad Hobbies, and it is hitting the spot. Finally!
  12. I finished the candle, and put on "Apple Mango Tango" from Candle Dippers. Smells great and very fresh - and SUPER strong!
  13. This morning I'm finishing my Slatkin 'Winter' candle. Apparently we're not getting much more winter this year, so I may as well use it up.
  14. Sorry to be MIA - I've been really busy lately, and most of my melting has been "same scent, whole house", which seems kind of boring to post... Recent melts: whole clamshells of Scentsationals "Black Raspberry Vanilla" (lovely scent, glad I stocked up when it came out) and "Cupcake" (very true scent for about 2 hours, and then a bit plastic-scented - this is with a 24w plate warmer.) Yankee "Sparkling Lemon" (Good at first, but turns a bit "lemon pledge" after a while... I melted the rest that I had in my stash, and I probably won't re-purchase) Haley's "Pink Fruity Fruit", finished a bag (One of my favorite spring scents, and I need to remember to order more!) Yankee "Macintosh", 3 tarts (always lovely) and I finished a bottle of Slatkin "Vanilla Bean Noel" oil See? Nothing new, nothing fancy. I'll try to do better this week!
  15. Hello to Aria and Lynn! This afternoon's melts are "Tooth Fairy" from CFTKR and "Charlene's Green Apple" from Cottage Hill Creations.
  16. Tonight, we're having leftovers. I've got a fridge full from the past two nights. I did bake fresh bread today, to make up for not really cooking dinner. Tomorrow night I'm making chicken soup and ployes.
  17. I've got a couple of chickens roasting in the oven, so I just switched out the living room melter to something more...complementary. For now it is "Sugar Corn Pudding" from Missy's Tempting Tarts. Foody, but not so that it clashes with the chicken. I've got a "Lemon Pound Cake" candle from MVP lined up to burn tonight. That should be it for the evening.
  18. I haven't changed my melters, but I have added a Simple Living "Apple Cinnamon" candle to the mix. As a side note, is anyone else hating the new design of the Slatkin/BBW mini candles? The size hasn't changed, just the container and price. They are in GLASS, not plastic, and the price went up. They are on sale for 2/$5, instead of the 3/$5 that they did for the plastic mini candles. I also think they'll be harder to get the wax out of (for those of us who use these candles as tarts.)
  19. I'm starting out the day with Haley's "Apple Jack and Peel" in three warmers - another bag finished. I moved the Scentdationals "Mountain Oak" from the living room to my bedroom, because it wasn't finished. Very nice. Have a great day everyone!
  20. Today I'm melting 'Mountain Oak' from Scentsationals. It smells like a man's cologne - a very different scent for my tastes, but I think I like it! I just finished a big grocery shopping trip, and then I cleaned out the freezer. This afternoon, I'm getting some more cleaning done - yay!
  21. I'm ending the day with 'Tooth Fairy Taffy' from Backroad Hobbies. Very sweet and bubblegum-like.
  22. trep - and it actually had a pretty good throw! I'm impressed! I'm starting the day with a 3-wick candle from MVP, called 'Ocean Breeze'. It's a nice light beachy scent, but it's almost gone. I think this might be the last time that I can burn it.
  23. Tonight I made pork chops and mashed potatoes, and skillet-fried corn. Everyone was happy, even though it wasn't very fancy.
  24. I'm burning a new candle from MVP called 'Lemon Pound Cake', and it smells really good. My walmart had it on clearance for $2, which is pretty cheap for a large 3-wick candle. I think it was money well spent!
  25. I'm starting the day with "Wild Berry Cheesecake" from BH&G. This is one of my favorites, and SO strong!
