  1. Thank you so much Susan!! Those florals sound so beautiful. I love lilac and our big old lilac bush in the yard was glorious this year. Big hug!
  2. Awww thanks Mag! I love all those little singing faces. I hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day!!
  3. I'm afraid a crown has not been part of my life, unless we can talk about one for a tooth. Alas, I was skipped over for tiara duty. (Have you worn one? Homecoming Queen, I knew it!! And no you do not mumble... These phones can't hear properly.) The person below me has had a waxident this year.
  4. Hello all and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I had to drive back to WV today and just got in. We have an early start tomorrow. Mag, I CANNOT BELIEVE you saw Joe Walsh and Tom Petty live!!! Ohhh we are not worthy of being on the same forum with you! That's just wonderful. So of course I had to listen to both of them while driving today! Plus, Jason Isbell has a great new album, "Reunions"... Happiness abounds. And your Bunny Picnic....ohhhhhh....I love her strawberry and with the grass...ohhhhhh. Susan, looks like you broke out the Hayden Rowe basket and all of those sound amazing. I love her Coconut Cake. I hope you were able to get the day off today. Sharon, I am also jealous of your warm weather because it has been seriously cold in Ohio with freezing temps! Michele, I am glad you get to be with family even though you are all social distancing! Honeybear, Debra, check in please! I hope you both are well! I am melting Vacay Me by Wonderberry, which is cactus and Volcano. Also Cleanse Your Soul Moon Shadow - Jasmine, Tea, sandalwood - and this is lovely, but powerhouse strong, as in 15/10. It was filling the whole hotel and I had to turn it off. Again I hope that all of you are having a beautiful Mother's Day with your families even if the circumstances this year are so strange. Big hugs to all!
  5. Good morning all, Michele, we are holding you and your family in our hearts this morning as you bury your father. The times may be strange, but your love for him and your mother rings through all these worldly obstacles, and I'm sure they feel it and are at peace. It is absolutely cold here this morning, in the 30s F, so Spring is taking her time this year, which I greatly prefer to the early heat of recent years! Mag, well, I had quite the musical feast in the car on the way home... For the first 3-4 hours in the mountains, I have little to no connection, so that is time for reflection. But after that, having listened to the Eagles last week, I focused on their guitarist Joe Walsh and some of his earlier work with the James Gang, as well as "Life's Been Good." Then I switched over to the late, great John Prine and some of his heartbreaking lyrics ("Little pitchers have big ears... Don't stop to count the years") and ended up with Emmylou Harris. Considering that there is practically no one else on these back roads, I can sing along to my heart's content. So yes, and thanks for asking, it was a good ride home. Your CFOW SSA sounds beautiful - I think she blends very well with that oil! Susan, you have been melting up a storm! I am tempted by Garden Sweet Pea by CFOW, sounds lovely. I recently ordered some of her new bubble bars and really like how easily they snap apart, plus they are just adorable. Well this morning I tried something different and it was more or less a successful combination: SGA Palo Santo Type BBW Pink Lilac & Vanilla, under the candle lamp RG Palo Santo RG Wintergreen & Vanilla I didn't really intend for the Pink Lilac candle to mix with the Palo Santo and the Wintergreen, but all of these are so strong that they traveled into adjoining rooms, and wow! It's just a lovely result! The sweet lilac and the mint soften the woody Palo Santo and the vanilla rounds it out - happiness! The sky is gorgeous and without a cloud, even though it is very cold, so a beautiful day. I hope that everyone will have a lovely weekend and Happy Mother's Day!!
  6. (I knew it... Same as my cousins. Lots of names and they all sound beautiful together.) Coffee... Let me count the ways......I like Illy regular beans and Starbuck Willow blonde beans for espresso. For the daily pot, it's good old Maxwell House. The person below me uses a voice assistant.
  7. Good morning all! Sharon, it's lovely to "see" you. I love Strawberry White Cake in any form, from any vendor. I hope you enjoy that new vendor. And I agree, I'm kind of used to the mask and the social distancing... We must do! Michele, your melts...ohhhhh.... Palo Santo... Pretzel....I know what I'm melting when I get home! I'm getting ready to drive home as I have to come back on Sunday. I need to play some different music in the car because I have the Eagles on permanent replay in my head ("Well I'm a-standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona..."). Melting this morning: The Bunny Sisters Bunny Fields - strawberry patch, fresh cut grass, and White Clouds - I am really loving this vendor. Gorgeous, lightly sweet but juicy, fresh and green. Huge throw. It's like lying in a strawberry patch with the fresh laundry blowing on the line nearby. So beautiful and it really took me by surprise. I think this vendor needs to stock up that website and prepare for big orders, because they can blend. Maggie found this vendor and wow. Thanks my friend, you can really spot the good ones!!! Stay safe everybody. Hugs all around (virtually).
  8. Michele yes, I totally agree, L3 puts out so many new blends all the time and she uses all those wild names, so the only dependable way to get a beloved scent again is to ask for it in her customs. I have done that before and she will mix anything for you. That one sounds great, doesn't it?
  9. (LOLOLOL stop. I could have had another middle name.... on Dad's Catholic side of the family, many of my relatives had two middle names, a family name and a saint name...I believe you do too, don't you?) Well....I haven't had any alcohol in awhile due to some health precautions... Also as I get older I seem to feel the effects so quickly.... Loopy after just one ... But red wine was always my favorite. The person below me has more than three melters going.
  10. Good morning all! This has been a very rainy weekend but as you know I love that. It just seems to calm everything down. Except for the grass, which is lush and deep green and growing visibly every day. Yesterday I heard my most favorite bird, the wood thrush, in the trees in our side yard. Lots of owls and coyotes at night and I think everyone must be handing out cigars, because there are so many young voices. Mag, I'm so glad you got to see your girlfriends and take a long walk together. I think out of this lockdown has come a huge appreciation for our friends and being together. And yes the mask is hot.... But good for you. It's for the best! And plum with LOM?! Oh come to mama, that sounds sooooo good! Michele, I'm sorry those older melts have lost their scent. It is what it is. Happily you have newer wax to enjoy! I need to pull out some SGA...I have some Jack the Clipper left... Yes... Well yesterday it was: Hayden Rowe Lemon Tranquility - a pleasant cleaner lemon scent in the adorable little duck shapes. Sadly this was very light and didn't last very long. This was over a year old but other HR scents of that age group are doing fine. RG Shy Guy - Spearmint, Pine, Shaving Cream - oh, now where has this been all my life?? Gorgeous, beautiful throw. I suppose this could be called a winter scent, but since pine trees are fragrant all year long, really we could melt this at any time, couldn't we? The shaving cream... it's that 1920's note without being cologney.... Perfection. So today I guess DH and I will wrap up Season 1 of Goliath on Netflix, with Billy Bob Thornton. The language is very rough...they really need to expand their vocabulary...but the story is so gripping that we are hooked. I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday. Stay safe. Hugs to all.
  11. I do and it is Jo. My father's middle name was Joseph. I think Little Women may have played into that as well because my mother loved that book. In any case I have always liked it. I'm glad they avoided some of the other family names... Luella... Blanche... The person below me has a favorite bracelet.
  12. Michele, I love your title! Very clever! Your SGA melts sound so good. I have been neglecting those. Susan, mystery and romance books sound awfully good right now. Very impressed with your library. And I just received a little CFOW order - I know we are both fans! Mag, yes I agree, RG packs a punch, and it just gets stronger the longer it sits...I really like... Home today and so happy. I had an easy drive yesterday. So today it's been: Southbound Spring Break - a fruity SSA blend and while it was lovely, the scent didn't last very long. RG Ice Palace - a buttermint scent that is becoming one of my "crawl through oil" scents. RG Berry Creme Brulee - ohhhhhhhh now this just makes life worth living. Juicy berry, not overly sweet, and the cream rounding it out... Sublime. I hope everyone is doing well! Warming up a bit at last after a cool and rainy week. Stay safe, all.
  13. Good morning all! Thank you ladies, I did make it to WV/VA safely on Monday evening. I took a quick nap at a rest stop en route because I was getting sleepy. A little foggy this morning, which is lovely settling on the mountains. Work is going well and those of us who have worked together for these last 18 months have become buddies. It helps, although we can hardly recognize each other with our masks on. So yesterday and today it's been: OPT Lavender Spearmint, a gift from a sweet CF pal and this was GORGEOUS. TSGS Citrus Mint, fresh and tangy, lovely in the morning. Waxmosphere The Olive Branch, in her beautiful tie-dye, so strong and perfect. Still sad that she's not doing wax anymore. Have a fine Wednesday and stay safe out there.
  14. (love the peanut... Yesterday after we talked about this here I had to have some of the pretzel...) Yes I do have rain boots... Our field gets very soupy at the back when it rains and those boots are a lifesaver! The person below me *may* try a new wax vendor this year.
  15. (haha!! Great minds, Mag!) M&Ms....oh, now you have hit a weakness of mine...I have never met an M&M I didn't like... But a favorite, now that is tough...I like the mint ones, the caramel, the pretzel, the peanut...the peanut butter...and wasn't there a raspberry one? those were very nice.. As you can see, I have tried them all...I think if they were all lying in front of me, I would go with the pretzel ones. (How about you?) The person below me has used a loofah.
  16. Good morning all, I hope everyone had a good weekend! Cold and rainy here but that's proper spring weather, instead of the quick heating up we often have. This morning holds a couple of calls for me and then start driving back to WV. Susan, I love the library grab bag idea, really clever and creative. What type did you choose? As for wearing a mask all day, we share that difficult experience and your shifts stretch much longer than mine. Big hug to you. Maggie, I agree, the electronic libraries are useful and better than nothing, but not the same as going inside and checking the books out first-hand. As for OPT, good for you, working through the stash - and yes, excitement for new wax mail and new scents! Michele, one of these days I will have to try SMT. You and Valerie have both had good success with that vendor! Well yesterday it was: Capri Blue Volcano candle, in the blue jar - under the lamp - this was one of the very first fragrances which started me on this whole scent adventure. I remember reading a random article in which someone said that they hoped heaven would smell like this candle...and I had to try it. They were right - the sweet yuzu is gorgeous. This candle is several years old and still beautiful. VRC Back Porch - strong, lovely lemonade and tea. RG Apple Eclipse - green apple, vanilla, bourbon - love! Different and delicious. Have as great start to the week, everyone, and stay safe.
  17. (stop - you are not melting - so beautiful and you have no idea of it. Your raised bed and veggies sound so, so wonderful, especially in the current world situation.) Eyelash curler - yikes - I have never tried that thing. To me it looks like an instrument of torture. I was always afraid it would pick an eyeball neatly out of its socket and I just couldn't. Does it work?? The person below me has tried the new square Yankee Candles.
  18. Good morning all! Mag, you are so right - I like to have a leisurely ordering experience and sometimes that just isn't in the cards. I like that HR Black Sea Barber. OPT sent the shipping label for your Peace in the Grass scent (Good Vibes) already, very speedy indeed. Valerie, I hope you had a good birthday, and am glad you could at least Face Time with the girls! Also, the raspberry cheesecake - excellent choice - that sounds divine. Michele, I hope this weekend will bring some rest. Are you getting rain? A little drizzly here in Ohio and I think we've been sending that your way. Debra, Susan, Sharon, Cyn, everybody ok? Tell the latest please - everyone safe and sound? Melting? Daring to trim your own bangs?! Well today for high excitement I need to address the baseboards... Also I may need to switch up some of the Easter Bunny decorations as I think that fine fellow has hopped on his way. So this morning it's: Ava's Sunshine & Fresh Air - orange blossom, Lily, SSA - a burst of freshness. VRC French Vanilla Latte - always delicious. The Bunny Sisters Teddy Ruxpin - lavender, pink sugar, vanilla - beautiful blend and I am adoring this vendor. RG Crackling Birch - ohhhhhh, love love love - orange, geranium, Bergamot, Lily, patchouli, rose. I would never have guessed those scent notes because to me this is a glorious fresh woody scent. I would order again. The "ban" remains ignored - I placed my annual CFOW order for my beloved Carnival by the Sea and Butterscotch Coke Float. Michele has cunning new bubble bars and there was no choice but to order. Enjoy your Saturday all and stay safe!
  19. (oh! A raised planting bed, how exciting! How big is it? And what will you be planting?) I am surely fickle when it comes to favorite vendors... but stay local to former ones too.... This is a problem....... Yes this month I am in love with RG, as if you hadn't guessed!! The little squares are so easy to pop in the melter - lovely scents - strong right out of the box - no curing - easy website - I could go on... . I am also head over heels for The Bunny Sisters... And Ava's... And Kae's.... It's hopeless! The person below me uses a skin serum and could recommend a favorite one to a clueless person.
  20. Good morning all! HAPPY BIRTHDAY VALERIE and many more! How will you be spending your special day my friend? I can imagine the girls will be burning up the airwaves talking with you. Hopefully you will all be able to be together again soon. Is there a special meal involved, and, most importantly, will there be cake? Michele, continuing to hold you and your family in our hearts. I'm glad you are near your family even though things are so strange right now. Please stay safe. Big hugs. On the wax front, VCS Cafe Reggio! I haven't tried that but I have heard raves, and you and I tend to like the same coffee scents...ohhhhhh... Mag, that RG sale was Hunger Games. Those mini melters must be very popular and my goodness. She has RTS all the time but these were new scents in limited quantities. I had my heart set on Blackberry Cream Puffs and they fell out of my cart immediately. Many things sold out within no time. I will revise my strategy next time...."I have not yet begun to fight." Well I had an easy drive last night and got home earlier than usual. Also I had a successful e-appt with my doctor for a minor skin question and was able to upload a photo via iChart. I had an answer and a Rx within two hours and I didn't have to wait or go there. Big thumbs up and I would do that again even in normal times. So last night I filled up the warmers: Ava's Wildberry Smoothie - oh, very nice! STRONG and still luscious this morning in the hottest warmer. The Bunny Sisters Winter Garden - love - this was a sample and I think was the same as Green Thumb, which is the tomato vine / strawberry / rose blend that I bought lots of. Divine. Tiny piece in the little bathroom warmer which is not so hot and yet this scent has filled the house. This vendor! RG Petey Colada which is lemon poppyseed, Pina colada, and marshmallow smoothie. A tiny little piece and ohhhhhhhhhhh! So good! Have a lovely day all and stay safe out there.
  21. Good morning all, I get to drive home later today. I had to let you know that this morning I melted VRC Blackberry Jam & Butter Cookies - love love love! Normally my nose disagrees with buttery bakery but this is perfection, softly tart, flaky pastry, not oily. Beautiful! I should add that I may have visited the RG Mini Melter Sale last evening. Have a great day and stay safe!
  22. (I give you a lot of credit to cut your own hair...I would have no clue how to do the back, especially!!) Yes...I have brought along tiny WoodWicks candles, tinned candles, BBW candles, huge Homeworx candles, you name it... One time I bought six BBW candles in desperation on a trip, and carried them on the plane in their corrugate holder and huge shopping bag. Interestingly, Security just breezed me on through that time... Other times a single candle has been studied and scrutinized and swabbed... No clue as to the logic there. I do not miss the airport since I've been driving, and it's funny...I am less stressed now without the flights, and am bringing less stuff with me. But yes.... Must. Have. Candles. The person below me will plant some vegetables this year.
  23. Hello ladies! Michele, I hope you are doing ok. Big hug. Cyn, awww, thanks a lot! The candles will be a little more of a job to haul out for a video. And do I really want my husband seeing them all together like that?? I will have to figure out the timing. Your sunflower blend sounds beautiful! Mag! So of course I had to order your Peace in the Grass, thank you for the heads up!! That cucumber, grapefruit, whipped cream, and vanilla bean sounds exquisite... some of my favorite notes. I am going to bed... Melting VRC Bathos which is violet and cedar, and it seems like it just keeps getting stronger and stronger.. Absolutely love it but it is extra potent! Good night all!
  24. Michele, I am thinking about you and sending my love. I'm glad you are near family. Big hugs. I know you are missing your Mom and Dad both. Maggie is so right... Sometimes it seems like so long ago since we've seen them and sometimes... It was just yesterday. Maggie, I agree, sometimes I have to have a bubblegum scent. And Zeep Party Doll! Ohhhh I love that one. And OPT? I thought she closed down! Ohhhhh GWW.... Temptation... But yay! You've got your ordering mojo back!! What did you order??? Michele, I am lusting after all your new Vintage Chic...I have only a small amount left... Susan, you are a love, thanks for the kind words and you be safe too!!! I worry about you out there doing the work you do. Cyn, that Sunflower melt sounds perfect for springtime... Is it a floral scent? I'm really loving all the florals this year. Thanks ladies on the video!!... Maggie, yikes, no celebrity here!!! Some unstable camera going on there and I left out an entire drawer... It's an example of how NOT to film, but oh well! Cyn, were you able to find it on YouTube? Maggie listed the name it's under and yes there's a space in the middle. My goal is to keep it light! Well today was a long work day so I'm melting the same thing I was last night: Rosegirls Goodnight Moon - sweet lavender, fresh peppermint and pink sugar - I know lots of vendors do this combination but I must say this is my favorite. Absolutely gorgeous and very strong. Her peppermint is stellar - very pure and nose-clearing - and I think that's why this is especially good. Sleep well ladies and be safe! Stay well, keep washing those hands.
  25. Good morning all, Michele, we are thinking of you and your family and sending our love. Maggie, I hope you had the happiest of birthdays with home-cooked food and of course a cake! It was lovely being home this week, but it's back on the chain gang tomorrow. I do not mind the beautiful drive through the mountains. I will pack healthy snacks and wear my mask when I need to get out at the rest stops. I reorganized the wax yet again this weekend and after the recent little burst of Quarantine Wax orders, I am putting myself back on my ban. This includes vendor wax, retail wax, candles of any sort.... If it is wax I have enough. I have said this before. Earlier this year I completed six months of no new vendor wax, but I went hog-wild on the candles. I'm sure it is a sickness...a wonderful sickness... So yesterday and today it has been: Ava's Blackberry Tea - gorgeous scent Hayden Rowe Raspberry Strawberry Lemonade - initially very strong but faded quickly, over a year old. Rosegirls Blueberry Muffin - delicious and authentic, strong and long-lasting. I am melting it in my Yankee Scenterpiece. BBW Chestnuts & Clove three-wick - under a lamp in the kitchen. Honestly this is one of my very favorite scents of any wax anywhere and I have gone through several of these candles. I have two more one-wicks of this scent and that's it. Homeworx Wild Hydrangea candle, under the lamp in the living room, continuing to honor Michele's parents. Hydrangea and pear, the loveliest Homeworx candle I have found. I hope you will all have a restful Sunday and continue to stay safe.
