  1. Hello all!! Happy Saturday! Once again I have the Velcro cat in my lap. Thank you Maggie, yes it was an easy trip home, a slight delay on the second leg but no big deal. I'm glad you're enjoying your Savannah Blue! All of you with candles - Michele, Debra, Maggie - I am trying not to look at Colonial Candle - for exactly the reason you've said - a big candle takes soooo many hours... Still I am tempted... Must not look. Debra, whale watching from the porch?? -- I envy you so much, how beautiful!! And yes... All of the Walmarts have slightly different inventory...I agree with you, the one closest to home here is also big on the brownies and anything with cinnamon, fine so far... But what about all the lavender and herbal and laundry... Susan, you work so hard. I hope you can relax today and kick back a bit. Well, over the last three days it's been a few things: TSGS Bubblegum Gang - honeydew, watermelon, taffy - love this one, very fresh and juicy. SB Carnival Time - I loved this one last year, but there was a sharp note for me today. ???? L3 Cherry Blow Pop Orange Sherbet 7Up Pound Cake - from the customer creations group and let's just say that some of those were better than others. Very strong. Colonial Candle Vanilla & Bourbon melts - lovely. Zeep Beach Towels - the last hurrah of Summer and my favorite beach scent: lemongrass, coconut and beach towels. Love love love! Well although I did some damage at Walmart, I haven't ordered any wax since Aug 3, and that last order is arriving today - the Waxmosphere Lush samplers. *squeeeeeeee* Enjoy your Saturday and for those with a long weekend, enjoy knowing there's an extra day!????????
  2. Good morning everyone, Getting ready to leave for the airport. Susan, thank you, I'll try and catch that HR More Than Four next year. That 80's Barber sounds good - I like her barber shop blends. Michele, that Pink Chiffon Lily of the valley sounds beautiful! Well last night it was the last of a fabulous one: Spotted Hog Pumpkin Donuts - thanks Maggie for the reco because I think this one needs to be an annual event! Just delicious. I melted all of the wax I brought with me. However I did buy some wax at the Canada Walmart which has some unique and beautiful scents. I need to stay out of Walmart. Happy Friday all!!
  3. Michele, glad you had fun. Ghost Munch is everything Valerie said it would be. I looked up the scent notes and it's caramel apple, toasted marshmallow, candy corn and zucchini bread. What I like is that the blend really tones down the caramel apple yet keeps its character. I would repurchase.
  4. Good morning all! Maggie - I also love that scent Jersey Shore by HR. I always think of you and Michele when I melt it. ???????? Debra, how is kitty? Michele, I hope you hit the big one on the slot machines! We are finishing early today so I may do a little sightseeing. Continuing to melt these fall scents. I have had two waxidents this week, fortunately on solid surfaces. I was trying a new approach - don't cut the scent shot, just plop the whole thing in the melter and pull it out when about one-third is melted - but this is a mistake. The first time, I dropped the slippery tart back into the pool, splashing everywhere, and the second time I forgot all about it in the tealight melter and it overflowed. ???? "How Not To Melt" Hayden Rowe Jersey Shore Sugar & Spice Ghost Munch BH&G Weekend Camping Trip - very nice - not sure of the scent notes, but there is some clove in there. As one YouTube review said, "If camping really smelled like this, I would be a camper." ???? Have a great day all!
  5. Yes! I love to eat an ice cream cone. There's something very satisfying about directly eating the lovely ice cream instead of using a tool to convey it! The person below me prefers no nuts on an ice cream sundae.
  6. Good morning all, Quick hello at work. Debra, I'm sorry your cat is hiding out in the carrier... Please keep us updated. ???????????? Also I'm sorry this is such a hectic time for you. Last night it was: Hayden Rowe Jersey Shore - lovely and strong! Candles by Victoria Orange Clove - very strong, used only a tiny piece - love this scent. Enjoy your Wednesday everyone!
  7. Good morning all! This morning I'm back into Fall: ScentSationals Sugar Pumpkin Cronuts - excellent and strong, in the bathroom. Sugar & Spice Monster Munch Cookie Butter Crack - scrumptious. Valerie, you were right, this is yummy! Have a good day all!
  8. (If you want to go blonde, I say go for it! Change is fun once in awhile! And the sphinx has been sent packing - you inspired me to get a trim, nothing major!) If I were going to order a mixed drink, it would be a daquiri. The person below me will buy something new to decorate for Halloween this year.
  9. Hello all! Greetings from the road. A little further North than usual. ???? Debra, how can it be still 90 by you... You need some relief up there!! Maggie, I hope you have recovered from your run-in with the bomb squad! Good to hear the Woofwix and RG are doing well... Both of those scents sound delicious. Michele, weather in the 60's, now we're talking! That Cafe Bustelo sounds so good. Susan, how is that HR More Than Four? I missed that one! Honeybear, I'm sorry your Carnival by the Sea isn't throwing for you... You know I would crawl through hot oil for that scent...???? Well tonight it's: Cleanse Your Soul Swedish Dream Salt - yes I know this is not a fall melt, I needed a break from DH's caramel apple scent yesterday - ocean breeze, lavender, balsam, cucumber, lime, musk, oak moss. Absolutely gorgeous and throwing its head off. Have a good night all!!
  10. Good morning all!! Thank you ladies for the encouragement regarding the wax celebration. It means a lot. I was really headed the wrong way. Nice and cool here also and I actually put on a sweater this morning! Does that mean I should melt some Sweater Weather? In any case it feels delicious. Maggie...I am so so sorry you were stung so many times... Hideous and I imagine frightening. I'm glad you still had your gloves on, there's a small blessing. Also smart thinking to hit the Benadryl right away. Sheesh, no fun at all!! Debra, what?! No fig for you? Are you sure? ???? But but but!! As for the waffle, that berry syrup sounds good. In fact, any sort of waffle sounds good. Well last night I switched the melters to: Ava's Lemon Coconut Funnel Cake - fabulous, such a beautiful blend. It is still throwing this morning. Vintage Road Cranberry Spice Cake - this is lovely and the perfect spot between sweet and sour. Beautiful throw in the cooler warmers, which seem to work best for this softer wax. And I'm about to change them over to: Scentsy Casting Spells - Apple, roasted pears, cinnamon bark - I love this scent so much, and a sweet CF pal sent me more of it - thank you!! Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.
  11. ???????????? oh my goodness, you have me laughing!! "Slam-Jam 'Em Where They Fit," ???????????? well this sounds like a plan to me!! Whatever gets them into their house for the season! And see... Sub-organized by vendor! I knew you had a system!! ???????????? Haircut?! Oh gee...I wore my hair in long layers for something like 20 years... Then last year I had it cut into an inverted bob... Am totally bored with that, and it has grown out and looks like the sphinx again, so I have no clue what to do. The person below me likes to change up her laundry detergents from time to time.
  12. Good morning all! It was in the 50s this morning and oh it feels so good!! Maggie, that's weird about that tart and I'm sorry it had to be that beautiful scent. Usually Carol's melts are so strong and this last group from a month ago is no exception. And yes I agree with you...L3 lasts a long time for me too. I keep reading that she changed her wax formula more more than a year and wow, it performs really well in my house. Debra, waffle day?! That sounds wonderful! DH is wanting a waffle this morning and says it is National Waffle Day. What did you put on yours? That FP is indeed a mouthful... how was it? Susan!! It's good to see you! You work very hard. I hope you get a day off soon. I like that CFOW Violet Lime and had a bag of that last year. Michele, I'm so sorry you've had to deal with not one, but TWO a/c systems out at once. That is repair overload. Very exciting that you will be getting a new knee so that you can dance at your daughters' weddings!! ???????? Well I made a new melting basket and have jumped in: Ava's Citrus Custard - a beautiful, creamy lemon/lime blend - this lasted from yesterday afternoon and all night throughout the house I love her wax! TBG Apple Cardamom Pie - from one year ago and lovely and strong. DH is so happy for the fall scents to be starting even though it is early. He is not a fan of all of the fresh. ???? While I work through the older wax, I do trickle in a few newer ones: Waxmosphere Enchanted Forest (Lush So White) - orange, citrus, apple, rose, bergamot, neroli - absolutely wonderful and I continue to be thrilled with this vendor. The scent has lasted more than 12 hours so far. Enjoy your Saturday everyone!
  13. Hello dear ladies, Well, I made a quick getaway today and need to pack tonight. It is hideously hot and humid (and Honeybear, I realize this is nothing compared to AZ!). Lots of lightning strikes all week so it's a little nerve-wracking walking to the car. Debra, that Bay Laurel sounds beautiful. I'm sorry you didn't get much of a rain. ???? Michele, I love the sound of your Sweeney's Barber Shop. Strawberry and mint with barber, oooh. Really like the shaving cream scents, especially if they are the Barber Shop 1920's type that remind me of my grandpa. Maggie - say it isn't so - that Blueberry White Cake is my most favorite CFTKR scent and also my favorite blueberry of all. Maybe that was a lighter batch? ???? That happens sometimes, doesn't it? Well, I have a few pieces to melt through tonight. Some very nice scents yesterday and today: WoodWick Petite Candle in Sand and Driftwood - so lovely. I remember last year when I melted my first one of these and thought something was wrong with it because it was making that noise. ???? I brought little bags of these next ones and I can't remember if they were ScentSationals or BH&G: Laundry Basket - nice clean scent. Sage Leaf Aloe - lovely! Fresh. Fresh Air - very calming. Nutter Butter - I think this has a different name, but that's what I wrote on the bag - it's a chocolate and peanut butter bar, neither scent of which I normally like, but I love this. And a giftie from a dear CF pal - Inner Zen - oh, this is a beautiful, minty, calming scent. Thank you my friend!! And to all a good night! ????????
  14. Hello dear ladies, Well another hot day. I am not one to rush summer away... But I am not too sad to see September coming up. Maggie, your Lush scent perfumes sound wonderful!! You know how I feel about Lord of Misrule.???? I hope they will all be enjoyable! You are so right about the Lush prices - wow (Michele, brace yourself when that store opens!). I'm also grateful for various vendors doing dupes because the scents I've tried so far are...fabulous. Of course then I wonder if they are spot on... But in any case I'm enjoying them and hope you will too. And thank you for the kind words... The celebration is going well so far and I really appreciate the encouragement! Michele, also congrats on your celebration of wax - great job! We finally broke the ordering cycle... Tough to do. I can't imagine the excitement of getting ready for your daughters' weddings!! I'm glad you're enjoying all the preparations. As for Lush American Cream - "in love" is also my reaction - that scent is like a magic potion for me. It grabbed me and hasn't let go. Well I've been melting away here in the hotel room: VRC Charmed - I got every drop of scent out of this one - it ran all night last night and ohhhhh. That lime, with the amber and the jasmine... Michele, if Sarah has this when we go to visit her store, I'm cleaning her out. ???? Swanky Queen of Cupcakes Raspberry Sugar - a gorgeous giftie from a sweet CF buddy - OMG. Her wax! It's just decadent. Thank you so much!! VCS Jane Eyre Loves Mr Rochester - the rest of this small bag - lavender cream and Earl Grey tea, spectacularly delicious. Spotted Hog Watermelon Margarita - strong and authentic. I have burned out on watermelon however. Time to take a break because normally I love this scent, and it was well done with a lovely throw. Vintage Road A Good Walk Spoiled - this name cracks me up - an earthy, rainy scent - grass, dirt, patchouli, lilac, jasmine, and rain. I really like this, and it's a lot like Groot from Closet Full of Wax. Yankee Candle Cubes - Alpine Morning - a new one from Walmart (ok, it was a local purchase) - beautiful. Not a scent note to be found online, but it has some lemon and mint going on, at least to my (usually wrong) nose. Have a good night, all!!
  15. Good morning all! All settled in for the work week. Maggie, which Lush scents did you choose? Apparently Lush has been around for quite awhile, but I had no knowledge of it, which may have been a good thing. I'm surely loving them now and hope you'll enjoy your perfumes! Debra, the fellow who put the hole in your plumbing...I know that things happen, but sheesh. I'm sorry! And yes, it's always something!! Michele - not the home a/c as well as the beach a/c - this is just too, too much!! The home hobgoblins are hard at work! I hope you will get some relief soon. And your DH had had more than his share of flight problems lately! I'm so excited for you, though, with both your daughters' engagements. I hope this makes the other stuff seem small. Or at least smaller. Honeybear, that's lovely that you and Dessa are friends and you can pick up directly from her. I love her wax. I'm so happy you are getting to spend lots of time with your daughter before her big adventure. ???????? Sharon, is it cooling down in the UK at all? Susan, oh Suuuuuusan! Where have you gone? Well I've been melting away trying to get through the older tarts. This is over the last several days. Spotted Hog Orange Chiffon Cake Spotted Hog Lemon Bundt Cake L3 Cherry Lemon Slushie Ava's 7-Up Zucchini Bread All of these were very strong. Vintage Road Charmed - Jasmine, Sweet Lime, Cotton Candy, Amber - wow, this one was a teaser - after about 30 minutes the sweet lime just unfolded... "Here, I have a present for you!" Love, love! Walmart Fall Leaves - I can't recall if this was ScentSationals or BH&G, but it is absolutely lovely. I did buy this recently at Walmart. Still no wax mail orders. We all agreed that local purchases don't count, right? Extremely hot here out East, mid 90s. I know that soon we will be grumbling about the cold, but I think I am ready. Have a good Tuesday everyone!
  16. (I'm sorry, that was pretty vague...I remember you telling me that you had a complicated system for organizing your melts within the two major seasonal divisions... That it made sense to you... Always wanted details...????????) As for socks, I wear ankle length. My ankles get cold on the plane. ???? The person below me likes to use pepper that you can grind right at the dinner table.
  17. Michele!! I am so excited for you and your daughters, congratulations!! This is going to be a whirlwind of s year with all the planning- great times ahead! Hugs to you! ????????
  18. (Beck?! You are the Concert Queen. I am so happy for you! I wish I could come too!) Yes! There is a very good Mexican restaurant near us, not a chain, and they serve fried ice cream. I really like it! I couldn't believe it really existed until I saw it. The person below me is a seasonal melter, but has sub-categories.
  19. Michele, my heart goes out to your BIL and family. Such a difficult struggle and I am keeping them in my prayers. Big hugs.
  20. Good morning all, Kinda quiet in here...*chirping of crickets*... So yesterday and today it's been: Zeep Scoop in Gingerbread Latte - beautiful and strong. L3 Skinner clamshell - blue Sugar, mallow fluff, vanilla wafers - very nice and I don't think I've had blue sugar with bakery before. Extremely strong. Spotted Hog Berry Lemon Bundt Cake - lovely lemon. Vintage Road Lemon Marshmallow Cookies - a favorite, beautiful juicy lemon. Wax Canvas Fig & Moss - oh my goodness, but this is good. An all-soy wax, no dye, and received just two weeks ago - a beautiful earthy scent. I used only one cube in a 14w plug warmer and it came out into the hall. Impressed with this Etsy vendor! And this morning I'm a little kid again with: Vintage Road Banana Taffy Bubblegum Cake - this one makes me laugh, it's so sweet and nostalgic. I know most of you don't like banana and this is surely the candy variety. But I adore this scent and happily DH is also a fan. If I were not celebrating my stash/not ordering, I would get a whole bag of this! But I bet it will be there when I return, or something like it. Enjoy your Saturday!
  21. Hello all! Well, my plane is a bit delayed (Michele, I'm sorry your DH had such a long delay, I guess it's weather-related, he had been having bad luck lately!)... When they start delaying by a few minutes, then a few more minutes, it often doesn't end well, but the day is young!! Debra, you are right, I am having wax withdrawal! Bringing home a bit of Jack the Clipper, couldn't bear to use it all up... Plus I bought a couple of small perfumes in Lush scents to tide me over... Checked that bag, for the first time in ages, so let's hope it doesn't go off to faraway places. ???? Sharon, I agree, my go-to warmer is becoming the 20W Glade and my tealights. I love popcorn scent, hope that was a good one. Susan, hope you are doing well, kind of quiet. So last night I didn't melt - tried to air the room out for the next guest - and just played with perfumes and listened to music. I will be glad to get home! Happy Friday everybody!
  22. Good morning all! The moon is almost full as I look out the window and very beautiful. Going home tomorrow so I feel inspired today. Honeybear, how exciting for your daughter to live and work in France! Now you have the chance to go over to visit her, adventures ahead!! Your Ghost Munch blend sounds wonderful. Maggie, you had me laughing so much... Slow my roll ????????????... And yes, thank goodness for Jack! ???????? Debra, I'm glad the carpets turned out well! I'm sorry the kitties were upset - they surely don't like any disruption to their household, do they - and that was a huge event. I can always imagine them wondering what in the world we get ourselves into... Your Basil Sage Mint sounds lovely! Well I have gone through everything I brought except the last of Jack: Ava's Blackberry Jam - so juicy and beautiful. I continue to have great success with Ava's wax. Spotted Hog Baker's Bliss - this one is a bakery base with butter, vanilla, sugar. ... And Jack! I still have one barbery chunk to enjoy tonight. I just checked back and Jack is from a loaf I ordered from SGA in May 2018. Still so strong and long-lasting. Lovely wax. Have a good day all!
  23. (Oh my goodness, how frightening!! I'm so glad you weren't hurt by the firecracker, and that you can still hear!!) As for the special carry-on, yes I do...I don't stow any luggage after years of seeing colleagues' bags go off to parts unknown. I carry a backpack and a very small London Fog roller bag, in dusty pink, which fits under the seat. Wax, melters, toiletries, cords, umbrella, and laptop go into the roller bag... Clothing, safety vest, safety glasses, sunglasses, wallet, and one notebook go into the backpack. Once arrived, the laptop switches over to the backpack for the work week. I do realize that the first item mentioned here was wax. This is all probably TMI. The person below me will attend at least one concert between now and the end of this year.
  24. Good morning everyone, A lovely storm last night and I opened the window... The best sleep aid going. I begged off the group dinner last night and was in bed early. ???????? Maggie!! Oh, great job on the kitchen set - it sounds beautiful, and a discount to boot! I know your girls appreciate your loving care in getting them set up....a bit of Mom's touch to make it feel like home. ???? Not to mention the heavy labor carrying things up all those stairs... Oh, I'm in VA/WV again and actually I didn't bring enough wax...I am running out. Will bring more next week. It makes me happy to think we were both melting Carnival By The Sea. ???? Sharon, I also love my Glade warmer... Just right for many waxes and doesn't burn through the scent as fast as the 25w. I think that even the tea light ones go more slowly than the 25w... What do you think? Michele, how did that VCS Jackie O do? In general my year-old ones are doing fine, but every now and then there is a silent one...that's true for every vendor, so overall I'm happy with the performance and hope that one threw for you. Well it's been: L3 Banana- a Trig tart, meant for blending but I enjoyed this by itself - very nice, like a banana bread and not too too sweet. I love all of the banana varieties and L3 always makes me happy with her throw and scents. SGA Jack The Clipper - Jack and I are old friends, and I have needed him with all of his SSA/shaving cream freshness to break up the stream of bakery tarts I'm trying to get through. Spotted Hog Waffle Cone - this is going right now and I really like it. I can see this week that I like the bakery blends that are less buttery. That butter cookie one yesterday sent me running. This one is more crispy-smelling, not sure how to say that, but for me it's good. I hope everyone enjoys their Wednesday. Halfway there! ????
  25. Good morning all! Still very hot in the Eastern part of the country. Michele, your daughter's wedding will be so beautiful on the shore! I hope you enjoy those samplers as much as I am! And yes, they should keep us occupied for quite some time! Well I'm continuing to work through the older tarts. Spotted Hog Funnel Cake - authentic, and I mixed it with: Ava's Black Raspberry & Vanilla, very lovely. Spotted Hog Anginette's Butter Cookies - smells just like a tin of butter cookies and extremely strong. Ava's Orange Dreamsicle - love, love. Wax Workshoppe Candy Apple Heaven - winter candy apple and salt water taffy. The Bathing Garden Calypso - in all its driftwood loveliness. I don't think I will ever tire of this scent, and in fact a couple of weeks ago I ordered Shannon's lotion in this. Have a good day all!
