  1. Good morning! DH and I have LOTS of school stuff and cleaning to do today, so to encourage productivity (and try to wake up DH in a nice way), I'm melting EW Caramel Cinnamon Latte. Yum!
  2. Earlier I burned my new Lemon Lavender candle for a while -- I think the throw is improving. Now I'm melting EW - Cranberry Craze. This one is nice!!
  3. I was going to burn one of my YC jars tonight, but instead I fell asleep for three hours (7-10 PM) and missed all of my favorite TV shows!! After last week's bout of insomnia, my body has remembered how to sleep, and now it is binging to make up for all the lost hours, I guess. So instead of doing a big cande, I'm remelting Nene's Lemon Squares. I really like her scents, and they are OK for the size of space I have, but most of them could be a bit stronger IMO. Looking forward to trying something else tomorrow, although I will be doing a bunch of work on final projects. Ugh...
  4. Last night I melted Nene's Lemon Squares and actually made lemon bars while it was going. Pretty fun, but this made it hard to know what smells were coming from the oven vs. my tart, so I'm doing a remelt this morning before I leave for school.
  5. Couldn't agree more about getting tomorrow done. I have a test, two other classes, two meetings and a tutoring session. (But the tutoring session is good because that's where most of my wax funding comes from!) I melted YC Cherry Blossom a while ago and then turned the melter off because I lit my Dune Grass candle. It seems like most of the YC florals are just a little too florally or perfume-y for my taste, at least for the purposes of investing in the large jar, but for one tart the scent is pretty. Nice to have the scents going while I have to be studying. Ick! Can't wait until this is over.
  6. Yeah, I'd like to know too, because I have a gift certificate, and if I don't spend any money it can't count as going off lockdown right?? :?
  7. Yeah, me too. It's as if Carol KNEW that several of us just went on lockdown.
  8. Welcome to lockdown, bigred. Think of it this way -- instead of not being able to order from vendors, you are just shifting your attention to anticipating the arrival of all those great packages! After all, the goodies are what it's all about, right?
  9. DesertRose, hope you feel better! It is no fun to be sick. Michele, so glad your daughter's OK! I have been in a couple very minor car accidents and it is always a terrible thing to go through. There are lots of deer in my area too and I always expect one to jump out in front of me. In case anyone is wondering, I would rate the strength of Bubble Butt as medium. Also, it is supposed to be a blend of bubble gum and fruit (as in Bubblegum + Butt Naked, I would assume), but all my nose can detect is bubble gum. But it smells good anyway.
  10. This morning for the last few minutes before I leave it's Mookie Doodle Bubble Butt. DH got out of the shower and I said he smelled good, and then added, "Guess what else smells good? Bubble butt!" and he replied, "wait...are you calling me that??"
  11. In my opinion the tart is stronger than the jar, but I had an illuma-lid on the whole time. The throw would probably improve if I took it off.
  12. After I got home from Yankee/groceries, I lit a pretty old votive in Good Morning (mostly for ambiance) and created my own tart blend in anticipation of lighting my new big Lemon Lavender jar after dinner: Pink Sugared Lemon Lavender (Nene's pink sugar combined with YC lemon lavender). The pink sugar has been melted before, so the blend isn't coming out 50/50 in terms of strength, but I like it so far. I will be doing this blend again since I have the other halves of each tart left over. I am also planning another YC blend pretty soon, so stay tuned.
  13. Just so everyone knows, the dates I will be out of town are May 14-17 and then again sometime around the 29th (haven't bought plane tickets yet). Hopefully I will be home when the box arrives!
  14. Hi all, Melting YC's Midnight Jasmine in preparation for a trip to the store later. (I actually don't plan to buy any of this scent, I'm just confirming that by melting the tart. Unless I fall in love with it...)
  15. Yay!! I am excited to participate!! :P
  16. Just added two apple candles to my lemon pound cake tart from AMS. One is YC's Macintosh and the other is from a place called Sugar Shack Country Candles.
  17. Hmm..."Good Morning Everyone" reminds me of YC's Good Morning, so I'm thinking muffins and pears, definitely with a splash of orange juice. Or you could put in a hint of coffee instead of the OJ.
  18. I think several of us are being more well behaved because of lockdown support. Thanks guys!! I successfully resisted AMS after all, and after the free shipping ends it won't be nearly as hard any more.
  19. OK, I have to admit, since this followed a "what scents did you get" post, at first I totally thought that "Good Morning Everyone" was the title of a scent.
  20. I'm not sure what would work best since I've never done a swap before, but I could easily contribute 10-12 tarts or possibly a few more if I really go through my stash.
  21. Dabba, I love YC's Red Berry & Cedar too! The adjectives that come to mind are bright and vibrant. Doing a final remelt of EW's Salty Sea Air, then I'll switch to AMS Lemon Pound Cake. In the bathroom it's YC Lilac Blossoms. I went jogging today, so hopefully that will help with the insomnia tonight!
  22. AAHH! What are you doing to me?!? That's not helping!!
