Boy, I'm kind of wavering on AMS today. Feeling weak. I went to the website and put together a hypothetical $30 order. But with the other stuff I have coming, plus only running one melter at a time, I really don't need more. Plus I have vowed to DH on several occasions that I'm done buying tarts online for the summer.

You can do it! Although I consider myself the lockdown queen, even I'm not locking down all the way until fall (I'm allowing myself some purchases at the semiannual YC sale, just no more online orders until fall unless there is a blowout sale somewhere I want to try).

Thanks everyone, although maybe it's not as hard for me to resist as it is for some others, because I have a particular account of "fun money" that is not replenished on any regular schedule or by any reliable source. So when I run out, I run out until I figure out a way of making more money. Because of this, I'm used to not making purchases that I'd like to make.

I am resisting AMS too! Never fear, we will be able to take advantage of another sale in the future. Plus vacationing is fun too!! :P

Bigred, maybe you could try running an ice cube over the wax to make it firm enough to come off in one piece, a variation of the melter trick?

I'm at school this morning, but last night I started EW Salty Sea Air after Nene's Pink Sugar lasted forever!! I think I might have to get the kitchen krumbles or at least a bakery bar in that scent with my next Nene's order, so I can PINK-ify any scent! Unfortunately, it will be a long time before I order from her again, not because I don't like her scents but because A) I'm on lockdown, B) summer's almost here, C) I've ordered twice from her and none from other vendors I want to try. Salty Sea Air is really strong, a nice ocean scent for anyone who likes those.

May 15th it is, although like I said, I'm unofficially trying to go all the way to the Yankee sale, i.e. June. And my tart ordering is probably done until early fall, so this one-month lockdown is really just the beginning for me, at least regarding online vendors. We'll see if I can hold out!

I'll do it with you, Jason! I've decided that the big LOL splurge was my last order for the summer (passing up Front Porch and AMS) and I'm waiting until the big Yankee sale to buy any more. We can do it!!

I'm so glad I saw this in time!! I'd LOVE to participate in a swap!! I will be out of town for a couple weekends in May, so it will slow down the progress of the box if it gets here when I'm gone. (If you want to know what dates for planning the order of the swap, I can post them.) I can be first if other people aren't volunteering, but it would also be fun to be in the middle, so I'm flexible. I'm excited!!

Melting Nene's Pink Sugar this evening. I like the plain pink sugar but I think I will like pink sugar blends even more! (I'm still kind of a melting newbie, as you can tell! But never fear, I have a few pink sugar blends from Mookie Doodle to try!)

I would like to try Spotted Hog's Paradise scent, but the $8.95 shipping fee is scaring me away because it doesn't seem worthwhile to place just a small order. If you have an extra tart in this scent, or you'd be willing to add a clamshell of it to your next order, I'd be happy to either pay you for it or send you a nice little package of tarts as a thank-you. (I have assorted tarts from GHBT, AMS, EW, Nene's and Mookie Doodle.) Let me know if you want to trade!!

I started Peyote Visions from EW this morning. Not my favorite, but definitely interesting and I'm glad I tried it! Might take me until tomorrow to use this one up, since I hardly spend any time at home on Mondays.

Happy Easter everyone!! Today I am melting YC Garden Sweet Pea. I am undecided as to how much I like the scent, so now I'm not sure if I want to buy the big jar of this in the future (looking ahead to the June semiannual sale already, haha).

I think one of the reasons it's "hard to stop" is because buying tarts is a lot like collecting things, except that we use up the things we collect as we buy them. I don't know about anyone else, but reading about different vendors and scents makes me look forward to trying them myself, and I really enjoy having a collection with some good variety in it. In addition to having fun looking at sites and placing orders, I also have fun every day picking a tart to melt. (DH even helped with today's Vanilla Lime selection by picking the "fruit" category!)

Would you say that you're happy that you stepped outside the Yankee Candle box? Yeah, I second what Bigred is saying. Jason and anyone else who recently tried SH candles, what do you think of them? This morning I am melting YC Vanilla Lime, and I really like it! Normally I am not a big vanilla fan, but the lime really makes a nice blend. (Probably wouldn't get it in the big jar, but the tart is great.)

Happy anniversary mpfand and scentedstamper! Glad you are OK, cbgirl. Natural disasters are so scary!! Tonight I've been melting Midnight Pomegranate from EW. Maybe my nose is just burned out, but I can hardly smell it. I've enjoyed many of Riss's scents but this one is doing nothing for me...later on I'm going to light my YC Fresh Cut Roses candle. I got some real roses yesterday, so hopefully the fragrance will enhance their presence!!

It's in the newsletter...if you are supposed to be on the list and didn't get it, maybe Missy wouldn't mind people forwarding it around? I know that's not the point of being signed up to receive it yourself, but if it was a mistake that a given person didn't get it, I don't see how that would hurt anything...

OK, ok, you talked me into it. But to justify Nene's I decided to hold off on the Soy Lovely order, so that can be what I resisted...

I am planning to resist Nene's for a few different reasons. But a rare sale is so hard to pass up!!
