  1. Yeah, I got the newsletter too. I didn't post it in the sales thread because I'm confused about whether we're supposed to do that now. I even tried to find the post that clarifies this, because I know there is one, but I couldn't find it. :P
  2. Heidi, nice to hear about Nene's Juicy Fruit because I have that exact same tart sitting in a drawer somewhere!! She threw it in as a freebie last time I ordered from her. Not sure when I'll get around to melting it, though. This morning I'm melting another one of hers, Good Day Sunshine. I really like the citrus scent, so far I just wish it were stronger. But the tart is not even all the way melted yet, so I will see if the throw improves. I'm off to Yankee this afternoon!! :P
  3. Candles by Victoria Lemongrass and Cedar~ Enhanced with bright citrus notes, the power of this fragrance is in the blend of grassy green notes, with hints of lavender sage and rosemary. Throw in some spicy clove, the warm outdoorsy scent of pine and oakmoss and you have a terrifically earthy fragrance! http://www.candlesbyvictoria.com/cbv/fragrancesearthy.html
  4. Lisa, so sorry to hear about what happened to your poor DH!! We're all very thankful that he's OK. Safe travels, Eileen, and have a great trip! :) Tonight it's Mediterranean Fig from EW. The strength is perfect and I like the smell, although after the sweet MD tart I had going, it almost smells a little bitter or dark in comparison. But I'm convinced it's just the order of scents and nothing bad about this one.
  5. Hi Michelle! Glad you've joined us!! :)
  6. Wow, I didn't know that scent had been officially reviewed! Thanks Jules and everyone! This helps a lot!!
  7. Hi all. Congrats to your DD, Mamalana! And Mpfand, so sorry to hear about your awful day. I'm glad you got a prescription, hopefully it won't happen again. Today it's remelt #2 of the lemon sugar & violet petits four scent from Mookie Doodle. This scent is really fabulous. Really hard to describe, it just smells awesome. I'd highly recommend it and I'm glad there's another one waiting in my stash. Next I think I'll pop in something from EW, but that won't be until every last hint of scent is used up from this one!! P.S. Cat (the one with the Peeps avatar), if you like Peeps and the U.S. version of The Office, you should check out this contest! http://www.officetally.com/the-office-peeps-contest-finalists
  8. That's really good to know, Mpfand! My nose doesn't like scents that are too perfume-y either. That's actually why I was attracted to the juniper & aloe one in the first place, because it sounded fresh and clean (but not chemical-y clean). Maybe I will go with the big candle for Avocado & Cilantro after all...
  9. Hope your sense of smell returns soon, Bigred!! I am kind of scent-obsessed today. After I melted the lemon/violet tart (looking forward to the remelt BTW!) I burned my YC Beach Walk candle, then switched to Cinnamon & Sugar. Haven't really had the latter one going long enough to form an opinion, but the cold sniff sure was nice! Now I have to study for my German test tomorrow....
  10. Finally back to melting now that my cough and sinuses are calming down! Last time I started feeling better it only lasted a week, so I have my fingers crossed this time! Today it's Lemon Sugar & Violets Petits Four from Mookie Doodle. I really like this one!!
  11. Hi all, my name is Christy. I'm 25 and I've been married for almost 3 years. DH is a law student (about to graduate) and I'm working on my PhD in music. We have no kids yet, maybe in a few years, but that is undecided. I would LOVE to get a cat but I am allergic, so I get allergy shots each week in hopes of someday being able to have one. I'm originally from North Dakota and DH is from Nebraska. The other forum I like to visit is Pricescope (http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/), which is a very informative site about diamonds and other jewelry. The Show Me the Ring section is my favorite. But CF is a lot more personal, and I can participate WAY more since buying tarts and candles is obviously WAY more affordable than expensive jewelry.
  12. King's Country Candles Cranberry Apple Marmalade - Crisp apples, peaches, oranges, spiced cranberries and cinnamon. Middle notes of black currant, cassis, clove and vanilla spice. Zesty, cozy and warming!
  13. OK, I think I've got this figured out!! Yankee Lilac Blossoms - An alluring grove of lavender, white, and deep purple lilacs. (this should be easy for the next person!)
  14. Hey Jules, how's that Sage & Citrus? I'm plotting a Soy Lovely order for whenever the next sale is. I was sick most of the week and have been kind of miserable lately, mostly due to the fact that my cough keeps me up at night and the doctor wouldn't give me a prescription for anything. But last night was the first night in about 5-6 days that I actually fell asleep quickly and slept through the night. (Although DH tells me I woke up around 1 AM, got up and put my bathrobe on, hugged him, and then mumbled incoherently about either M'n'Ms, the candy, or Eminem, the rapper. He says I kept trying to talk until he told me to go back to sleep. !!!!!!! ) Today will probably be more of my YC Dune Grass candle, since yesterday was Macintosh. I've been switching among my spring scents. Once I really get healthier, I'll get back to melting too!
  15. Still at home sick today. This blasted cough just won't go away!! On the other hand, it allows me to burn a candle when otherwise I would be at school. Today I'm back to YC Dune Grass. Sheryl, your multiple Celtic Moonspice idea sounds great!
  16. Normally I wouldn't be melting or burning anything in the middle of a weekday, but unfortunately I'm home sick today. I've been worse, but it's still not much fun. At least I get to have a candle going though! Today it's YC Macintosh. Might do a remelt of Nene's Cozy Kitchen later, too. I think they would go well together.
  17. P.S. Jason, I am looking forward to hearing what you think of SH's candles, since I too burn almost exclusively YC and am looking to expand. (this guy's just for fun)
  18. I keep hearing about Paradise and would LOVE to try it, but unfortunately melting the tarts makes me cough (although I can use up what I have), so I'd have to put together an order of candles only that would be worth the shipping. Maybe someday they'll have a shipping sale, although I remember SH not having sales too often.
  19. Burning YC Dune Grass today. It hasn't been going very long, so the jury's still out on this one, but I loved the cold sniff. Also, love the new emoticons!!
  20. Trying out my YC Beach Walk candle tonight and it smells awesome!! The thread about ocean scents is what gave me the idea to light it. I think eventually I'll have to get the big jar of this once they have another sale...
  21. Hi all and happy birthday Mpfand!! I am burning my big jar of YC Home Sweet Home, finishing up the Mulberry from Spotted Hog and starting Nene's Cozy Kitchen. Have a good day everyone!
  22. Hi all! Sorry I've been MIA lately, it's really been a busy semester. Melting Spotted Hog's Mulberry tonight!
