  1. Good morning all! Honeybear, continuing to think about you and send many hugs. Michele - hoping you are having a great start to your vacation! Debra - I keep some of the boxes and all of the frillies that come with the wax. Zeep, in particular, makes such a pretty box with elegant toile or other lovely wrapping, and beautiful packing shreddies, and these I keep and use for buddy boxes. Most of the post boxes get sent to recycle. So yesterday the last of my CFOW orders until fall (trying...) arrived, so trying a little bit of these before curing: Jack Sparrow (SSA, orange, lovely) Sea Hag (SSA, Beachwood - ohh this is going to be a favorite) The Lost Boys (SSA, blackberry - exotic) Fiona (pistachio, strawberry, marshmallow - wow! Strong, gorgeous). Have a fine day all, AmyJo
  2. Yes, I have basil growing in the kitchen, more planned for this year. The person below me looks like her mother.
  3. Good morning all, Honeybear sending you a big hug. ???????? An early departure today so I'm melting only one thing: Lime Mallow Birthday Cake, a homemade tart from a dear and talented CF friend. This is a beautiful scent with all kinds of throw and it started the day out beautifully. Thank you!! Have a good day all, AmyJo
  4. Michele - LOL, yes 6 melters at a time is a bit much and I don't always use them all. But this is an older home, not open concept, and each scent tends to stay in its own room (except today when this CFOW Fig Lychee, absolutely beautiful scent, is an alpha personality and I can smell it everywhere). Also I like windows open with screens unless it is extremes of heat and cold, so this helps with the overall concentration. 12 bags of SGA - I can see how that happens, just got my first order from her and GORGEOUS blends. I give you lots of credit for sticking to a ban for two years. AmyJo
  5. Good morning everyone, A beautiful, cool morning here in Ohio. I took some time off yesterday to rest and I ended up reorganizing and inventorying all my wax (really an excuse to play with it and sniff everything). I've put a basket next to each of my six melters and hope to work my way through each in balanced fashion. I still have a few odds and ends on their way and then the plan is to refrain from ordering more during the hot months. While I work my way through the stash. Without looking at the restocks. Michele - I wish you safe travels on your trip to Italy!! Somehow I think touring through Tuscany will make up for the inability to melt. Enjoy this precious time with your family! Maggie - a peppermint cocoa tart?? Is that vendor still in business? Oh wait...the wax ban... So today it's: FP Pistachio Pudding Cake (yum, I would like to eat this one) CFOW Fig Lychee (strong, gorgeous - the scent description says "breathtaking," and she is correct) Zeep Never Never Land (used this to sleep, has cured beautifully, I will order again after the wax ban) CFOW Butterscotch Coke Float (OMG - I love this - had my doubts from the name but oh! Sweet and tempting) YC Black Cherry (in the new clamshells I found at Walmart - I adore this rich cherry aroma) Have a lovely day, all. AmyJo
  6. Yes, I love roller coasters. But not things that spin...like teacups...???? The person below me lets at least one pet sleep with her.
  7. Good morning ladies, Big thunderstorms last night so our big dog had a rough evening. Happily it all finally subsided. Honeybear - sending you lots of hugs for little Zoe. I hope things go well with the mobile vet today. You're an amazing kitty mommy with the bone broth and the cider vinegar. Susan, that Remote Island sounds beautiful and a good one for the wish list. Debra, my oldest melt is Zeep's Christmas Tree from January of this year! That was my first order. Such a newbie. I love her little trees and they smell lovely - I was still melting it a few weeks ago to honor the late snow. This morning is a lemon theme - I love all of these: Zeep Lemon Poundcake Wonderberry London Calling from a sweet CF pal - thank you! BH&G Iced Lemon Cookies BBW Limoncello - my last piece of this I will say this is a lot of lemon for this small house! Have a good day all, AmyJo
  8. Yes, too many. The Family Man with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni, and Contact with Jodie Foster, and Arrival with Amy Adams, and.... The person below me has a favorite coffee cake.
  9. Good morning ladies!! Very refreshing morning - I slept like a dead thing after a day at the zoo with my best girlfriend of 14 years, the sister I never had. We got to see Fiona the Hippo, whom you might have seen in the news - after a rough premature birth last year, we all held our breath during her difficult first months and then she turned into a sassy, chock-full-of-personality rock star. It was raining yesterday and still her area was packed with visitors. Debra, that garden festival sounds so wonderful, especially with the short courses. I can imagine it was a long day. What a great event for the community. Maggie, I was tempted by that OPT CYO, but like you I'm not sure of my ability to create my own combination, especially in my head. Sometimes I fool around with combos at home but then I know what I've got, and it doesn't always turn out so great even then. I really really want to look at L3 but I'm trying to stick to the vendors I'm already ordering too much from. Susan, I know this comes as a great shock, but I *did* end up ordering from CFOW - that is a great discount and lasts until tonight. What pushed me over the edge was Michele so kindly restocking Jack Sparrow after I emailed her about it - what a love! And I didn't want Jack to feel lonely in shipment so I got him a few traveling buddies in chunk bags. Honeybear - sending you hugs for you and little Zoe. Aria! We posted at exactly the same time so I'm coming back to say hi. I love the mason jar idea! Glad you got your grubby tarts replenished from FP. Whatcha get, whatcha get?? So this morning it's: SGA Mirror Maze (watermelon, lemon-lime fizzy pop, cotton candy - drool! and yes I know I should let these cure! but ohhhhh!) CFOW Farmhouse Cider - DH loves this one CFOW Salty Sea Air Lavender - slept like a baby with this one CFOW Marilyn Monroe (Strawberry, vanilla, champagne - lovely and throws a mile) FP Patchouli mixed with CFOW Raspberry Macaroon - lovely, earthy, and I used only a teeny tiny bit of the patchouli. Have a great Sunday all, AmyJo
  10. Good morning ladies! Maggie, thank you for ushering us into May with a cute title - and I didn't notice we were still in April either - blissfully unaware - So good to be home - it's lovely and cool in Ohio this morning - and I arrived home to two packages - Front Porch and SGA - and I'm blown away by both, continue to be really impressed with these vendors. Maggie, that L3 grapefruit sea air combo sounds blissful. Honeybear - I hope Zoe will feel better soon. So tough to have a beloved animal struggling. My heart goes out to you and your DH, and little Zoe. Susan, thank you for the heads up on the CFOW sale - I did check it out - and what I'm waiting for from her is Jack Sparrow (SSA/orange sugar blend) which is out of stock. So saved this time! Mpfand - ooooh, ooh, a ballgame with your DS!! Did you have a good time? And I love that Peach Mango from BH&G. Biolaeagles - that your DH is home and you get some relief from single parenting! *time to relax* Debra - that's great of you to volunteer at the garden festival and I hope you get excellent weather! The SGA order included the Chunk Sampler and wow, I am delighted, two pounds of all different chunks and they are gorgeous chunkies with all different mixed colors and amazing scents. I guess I should let them cure? but I'm really thrilled. The FP order was an assortment of grubby tarts - I really find those little guys endearing. Her scents are very strong and long-lasting. So in the melters since last night and going strong: SGA Sample - Strawberry something (immediately lost the little cup and I forget the name, sorry!) FP Momma's Blueberry Cobbler (ohhhhhh drool, drool and this is the one I carried around in my pocket for two days on the last work trip) VCS 15 Minutes of Fame (pomegranate, strawberry, pink sugar, OHHHHH lovely) FP Strawberry Rhubarb Jam (beautiful. A favorite) AND ----- In the kitchen - a homemade tart from a dear CF pal - Raspberry Patchouli - can I say how much I love this, and I didn't know what patchouli smelled like - fantastic. DH also loves. A whole new scent to learn about and enjoy - thank you!! Have a great weekend all, AmyJo
  11. Evening all, Just a quick note. Today the planets all aligned and the second city of this trip - and its four flights! - was cancelled. So I will get home early tomorrow instead of 1 AM Saturday. Michele, that 90 degrees...I give you credit, I have little tolerance for those higher temps. I hope your trip will take you someplace cooler! Susan, that sounds like a plan and I wish you Happy Dedicated Melting. I agree with you and Susan - we all have enough wax to last quite awhile...so hard to stop ordering....must stop.... Aria, my sympathies on the mood swings. I went through The Change already and my big thing was to burst suddenly into a fountain of sweat. It was entertaining if nothing else and I'm delighted that is over. This too shall pass, just ride it out...tell DH to brace himself but it doesn't last forever. Also, Aria - that Avobath and lavender melt sounds heavenly. *filing away in wish list for order I should not be placing* So my little lone FP grubby tart spent its day in my jeans pocket at work today...every time I moved, it would send its lovely scent noseward...so it was a good scent day after all. I am once again on a wax ban...I surely have enough. I have my six favorite vendors (FP, CFOW, Zeep, Vintage Chic, Vintage Road, and SGA), all of them with their unique delights, and surely, surely, this should keep me delighted. So tonight since I have no melter my little FP Momma's Blueberry Cobbler will stay close by the bed where I can smell him all night. Sleep tight all, AmyJo
  12. Good morning all! On the road again. Two cities and quick turnaround so no checked bag. Therefore I brought one lone FP grubby tart and no melter. Mpfand - you made me laugh - your mother's comments - when my parents were alive it was the same thing - always, you look tired... but now I really miss hearing them say that. So - on the car dash - it's FP Momma's blueberry cobbler which is completely gorgeous. Have a good day all! AmyJo
  13. No Pepsi. Maybe twice a year I like a real Coke with the real sugar but normally I don't like soda much. The person below me needs to weed whack but isn't looking forward to it.
  14. Good morning ladies! We were a rather quiet bunch on here yesterday. Does this mean we do have duties outside of melting? Debra, I hope you get some relief from those long work hours. I'm back home today, ahhhh. Maggie, so so glad to hear your bloodwork came back with good results. Maybe you need a break, a vacation!! Also - how did you like that Applewood Fern? Biolaeagles - sounds like you have your hands full at the moment! When does DH return? Susan - now that's a project, you will be a melting fool. How are you organizing it? Yesterday I arrived home to find a beautiful surprise package from a sweet CF friend - gorgeous melts - so it was Christmas in May! Thank you, thank you! Everything is curing and I will be patient. What a fabulous surprise! So on the three-hour drive home yesterday, I recalled someone on here saying that you could set a melt on the dashboard (who said this?) and it would make the whole car fragrant. With the warmer weather, this worked beautifully. I had a previously-melted silicone cup of SGA Jack the Clipper (might have mentioned that I love that one)and the car turned into a trim little ship cutting through the waves. Wow!! Another way to get scent while traveling! So whoever made that suggestion, thank you! So right now it's a CFOW morning: Boardwalk Barbershop (Barbershop, sea salt, ocean breezes, black raspberry vanilla - wow, gorgeous) Mr. Grey (Bleu Leather Vanilla - masculine, I love) Pinata - (marshmallow, cotton candy, vanlla, taffy - giving me cavities but I love it, very very sweet) Dark Sea Shadow - (salty sea air, fire roasted marshmallow - a lot like Carnival by the Sea but smokier, gorgeous) Have a lovely day and enjoy the warm weather if you've got it! (does it take everybody else forever to find the emoticon you want?? scrolling...scrolling...) AmyJo
  15. Good evening all, Just a quick hello, very tired but glad to be done for the day. Honeybear - Zeep Big Top Sampler?! I missed this!! But I should also about that because I have two full baskets of Zeep. And I've got my list typed up for the Vintage Road. We have to tell each other what loot we score so we can enjoy it vicariously! [smilie=th_aa17] Michele - we lived in Queens a looooong time ago and I have to say I get very nostalgic for it at times. I miss the corner pizza, the Italian bakery, the bagels, and the people. Not too much will overcome a New Yorker. I am melting a combination of SGA Jack the Clipper and BH&G Sea Splash Linen (think that's the name - always mess it up). I started out with the latter and it was waaaaaaay too strong so I tucked in some Jack. It is doing nicely so I'll stick with that. And I brought along one of the VCS disks (15 Minutes of Fame - pomegranate and fruity loops) for gazing purposes. Just so pretty. OK off for some supper. Then and bed. Have a good evening all, AmyJo
  16. Good morning ladies! On the road again but just within Ohio and hopefully only two days. Michele, I'm excited that you all said yes to the dress! Details please... Debra that SGA lavender souffle sounds delicious. I'm eagerly awaiting their sampler... Speaking of samplers, tomorrow I see that Vintage Road is having a restock. I think I will visit that one and then try to chill for awhile. Last night I melted VCS Ruby Slippers (red grapefruit, blood orange, Champagne, and vanilla) and oh my goodness... Just delicious and so strong. Of course I've packed wax for the road!! Happy Monday all, AmyJo
  17. Now who has ESP?? LOL yes when checking machines in the plants I must put my hair up (and sometimes wear a net, which is especially lovely). The person below me is going to make a salad today.
  18. Good morning all! A gorgeous morning but we had a FROST warning last night so I covered up the baby red-twig dogwood bushes with sheets. There are ten of these bushes - just planted in the fall - and they all have new little baby leaves. Honeybear, when you say tart-buying juices, mine were surely flowing yesterday. Time to rein it in again! Plenty to play with here and more beautiful scents on the way. I hope you had fun with your homefront projects yesterday. Debra, thank you for the info on the Vetyver Coffee or Vetiver Café type. That puts two scents that I love together...must research... Maggie - I hope you get some help from the doctor and start to feel better soon. Michele - thinking of you today. Speaking of Vetiver, I left the lovely CFOW Beachwood Vetiver on all night in the bedroom and it had still a trace this morning upon awakening. I may have to ask Michele to just create a standing order for this one... So yesterday a small order from VCS arrived - two four-packs of the beautiful imprinted disks, and they are so pretty that they don't need to smell like anything - but the fragrances are also wonderful (one pomegranate, one grapefruit and blood orange). I am just going to stare at them for awhile as I can't bear to melt them yet. So this morning we're on a fruity/bakery theme. Some of the CFOW ones are from the Discontinued Scent list and I can't fathom why these beautiful scents would be discontinued... CFOW White Nectarine (beautiful!) Zeep Boulangerie (getting stronger by the month, so gorgeous) VCS Gone with the Wind (wow! a sample - sandalwood, magnolia, coconut, I love) CFOW Raspberry Macaroon (big, luscious scent) CFOW Italian Waffle Cookies (gentle, sweet, delicious) Enjoy your Sunday all! AmyJo
  19. Maggie!! I salute you, you showed beautiful discipline at the SGA restock. I had a ball over there and ordered the Chunk Sampler and the Serene Rain Forest loaf. They didn't seem to have the Cantaloupe or Jack the Clipper today but I'm delighted. Michele! Enjoy saying yes to the dress! That sounds like so much fun. Have a lovely afternoon everyone and Maggie take good care of yourself! AmyJo
  20. Yes, currently watching "Selling Houses" on Netflix, British female host, lots of fun. The person below me will get a haircut this weekend.
  21. Good morning ladies and welcome to the weekend, Maggie, I hope you are feeling better today. I'm glad to hear you were tart-surfing, surely no better way to pass the time. I hope the blood tests will come back quickly with good news. I am sending you a big hug. Debra - that Black Vetyver Coffee sounds very interesting! How would you describe it? Which is the dominant scent? The fashion show was fun last night but I wouldn't make a habit of it. The music was so loud that I had to put tissue in my ears, and to be honest a lot of the clothing was drab-colored and strangely shaped. I really enjoyed hearing the student interviews and their passion for different causes which led them to design the way they did - clothing with electronic feedback, clothing for fluid genders, and clothing for individual expression. It was good to see my dear friend and visit with her. And finally it was good to come home. Well, my wax ban has crashed and burned, but I did manage to restrain myself for a full week. I am all primed for the SGA restock today and have money put aside. But yesterday, I wanted to make a wish list and there isn't that capability on their website! What was I to do?...so yes, I did order a couple more Moon Cakes from CFOW (Beachwood Vetiver, Maggie!) along with a couple of chunk bags in sea air and shave cream varieties. And I did wander over to Vintage Road and get their April Chunkie Loaf, which looks divine (and thanks to a sweet CF pal for introducing me to that vendor!). Thank you for the SGA suggestions, Maggie - I love Cantaloupe in any form so I will keep an eye out for that one. Yesterday afternoon I started an apple theme and let them run all night: Zeep Luke's Diner (needs to cure some more but ohhhh the coffee and cream is heavenly) FP Mac Apple Jam & Toast (beautiful, strong, lasts forever) CFOW Applewood & Fern - oh, now this is a beauty. It was a sample, will order again. And this morning we're back on the waters (in honor of the SGA Restock): SGA Jack the Clipper (have I mentioned how much I love this?) CFOW Serene Waters CFOW Amazon Mist (gorgeous) BHG Sea Spray Linen (uplifting and very strong, per usual) and CFOW Beachwood Vetiver (ahhhhhhh) Have a lovely Saturday everyone! AmyJo
  22. Quick question for all of you: what is your favorite SGA blend? Restock tomorrow... My wax ban has lasted a whole week! I *may* have to get something from SGA... thank you! AmyJo
  23. Good morning ladies! Home again and it's lovely. It's actually warming up - 50/60 and next week 70 - so will need to think about putting the A/C back in for the Pyrenees. He is already panting. Honeybear, I'm so glad you had a great birthday. Lovely that your DDs will be traveling to Europe! And yes - those donuts - sounds like sheer luxury! Working from home today and then this evening going to a fashion show at the art school of U-Cincinnati as the guest of a friend. I have never been to a fashion show before but I'm guessing this is dressy, wouldn't you think? I don't have a lot of fancy attire...will put something together. I melted an assortment of laundry scents last evening since that's what I had in the melters before my trip. This morning, it's a tropical theme: Back room/office - Zeep's A Slice of Paradise (just decadent and exotic and I'm glad I let it cure, gorgeous) Bathroom - BH&G Morning Bliss (grapefruit, very bright, lovely) Our bedroom - CFOW Fresh Squeezed Oranges Avobath (discovered on the trip! Lemongrass, oranges - beautiful blend) Kitchen - FP Citrus Jam & Toast (warm, orangey, lovely) Living Room - CFOW Persimmons Pineapple Coconut Bliss (also discovered on the trip, indeed blissful, love this). Have a beautiful Friday all, AmyJo
  24. Good morning ladies, Going home today and the work has gone well and I've been melting up a storm in the hotel. So happiness abounds. Michele - good to see you. I'm happy you will soon be able to travel to Tuscany, take a long deep breath, and find some moments of peace after this long difficult time. Mpfand - to your DS, and many more! Debra, I bow down to your 5-day wax ban! I too am going strong. I made the mistake of looking at the L3 website and she does have some fabulous-sounding blends (and I love all the clever names, LOL) - but I have resisted buying. For now. Maggie, that Fig Forest sounds tempting - I seem to be liking all of the fig scents. Susan - also that Community Chest sounds lovely - lime, coconut and cotton candy, will have to check that out when the wax ban ends. Biolaeagles - Nashville! What a great town. So much music to enjoy. So as mentioned I brought along a number of melts with me, mostly from CFOW samples which Michele so generously sends with every order. I've been melting each one for about an hour in a silicone cupcake liner, letting in harden, and saving it for home. I have to wonder what the other guests on this floor are thinking, but so far nobody has come knocking. In no particular order, over the past three days (bear with me here) Zeep Beach Towels - lemongrass, coconut, laundry - a favorite CFOW Daenerys - Dragons blood, marshmallow, vanilla - really nice and new for me CFOW Merlin's Forest - earthy and extremely strong, too big a scent for this small room. I would melt this outside! Zeep Laundry Day in Marseilles - gorgeous fresh scent CFOW Fresh Squeezes Oranges Avobath - very fruity, delicious CFOW Passion Melon - melon, fig, myrtle berries - wonderful CFOW Pinata - marshmallow, cake, taffy - extra sweet, nice CFOW Carnival by the Sea - SSA, funnel cake, marshmallow - my favorite CFOW Amazon Mist - fresh, watery, grass - I love this one CFOW Almond - well, there had to be one that didn't work for me. SGA Jack the Clipper - SSA, shave cream, a big favorite, smells like my DS. CFOW Violet Lime - gentle, soothing, like this a lot. CFOW Persimmon Pineapple Coconut Bliss - just like it sounds. Heaven. CFOW Honey Lavender Type - really nice - the honey changes the lavender into something even better and last but not least CFOW Beachwood Vetiver. I would walk long distances for this one. Beachy and lightly woody and different. Really love this. And that's it!! See, I can shop my stash! Edited to add:. Just got a note that my Zeep order from last week will be delivered today. This would be three body meringues. This makes the shopping ban so much easier. ???? Have a wonderful day everybody, AmyJo
  25. Yes many throughout my life, a great source of joy. The person below me likes to camp.
