Thanks for all the concern and well wishes for Zoe. I wish I had better news, but we had to say goodbye to our sweet precious Zoe on Tuesday. She was in kidney failure and clearly suffering. It was so hard to let go after 13 beautiful years. She was our longest living fur baby, and the most affectionate, loving kitty ever. She will be forever missed. Aside from losing Zoe, Mother's Day is coming and it will be the first year I won't be with either of my girls. I am, however, extremely grateful for getting to have DD#2 here this week, and DH and I both get to take her to the airport on Saturday for her France trip.

Stopping in with a quick update. All plans changed with Zoe being so ill. DD#2 flew in yesterday and will be leaving out of Phoenix for France next Saturday, instead of me flying to New Mexico. We are expecting a mobile vet tomorrow morning, and hoping for the best. We've been treating her with chicken bone broth and apple cider vinegar. (Several years ago, bone broth brought our little Abbie back from near death.) Amazingly, she seems better today. I was seriously concerned she might not make it through the night. Hoping and praying she is not ready to leave us yet. Glad everyone seems to be having a nice weekend. Debra, your outing sounds like a blast, and AmyJo, the zoo would be a treat. Been a busy couple of days with contractors doing punch list items, watching Zoe, and struggling with a massive headache all week. Zoe is not doing well, started going potty outside the litter box again, and losing a lot of weight. My husband thinks she is suffering. She is declining so rapidly so I'm taking her back to the vet in the morning. The problem is, I'm headed to New Mexico Monday to help the girls get ready for their trips. I'm supposed to be there to take DD#2 to the airport next Saturday, but Zoe needs me here, too. I am really in a predicament. ???? Aria ~ I'm still getting hot flashes every day, three years and counting. Ugh Good luck! ???? Michele ~ I'm with you. No more wax orders for me. I am trying really hard not to order. I have enough wax for years! I'm so worried if something ever happened to me and everyone really looked at my wax collectiom, they'd all think I was cuckoo for cocopuffs . ???? Good morning, friends Thank you for the birthday wishes, Biolaeagles, Mpfand, Aria, and Michele. It was a wonderful day. DD, DH, and I went to a place called the Living Room where we enjoyed yummy food, wine, and a complimentary order of mini cinnamon sugar donuts that came with three syringes to inject the donuts with berry, chocolate, and Bavarian cream filling. A decadent treat!! Sad that DD#1 had to leave late yesterday. Started missing her before she even left! I'm headed back to NM to see the girls on the 7th to help DD#2 prepare for her France trip on the 12th and DD#1's trip on June 3 to Europe. Michele ~ Glad to hear you're hanging in there. DD#2 was here for the weekend. We had such a nice time and we hated having to take her to the airport last night. It was only a quick trip because her schedule is so full. Hello Girls I've been busy with the pool and punch list items. The pool is now officially up and running. Just have to wait until Tuesday for the gas company to come and hook us up with a new meter, then we can use the spa, grill, and fire pit. DD#2 is coming out again a week from Friday. Then DD#1 will be here on the 21st. I know I sound like a broken record, but I miss my girls something fierce. Mpfand ~ Your little trip sounds like it was a lot of fun. Glad you had a good time! Good morning Thanks, all, for the good wishes for my kitty. :wub: Zoe appears to be on the mend. I am not seeing the frenetic back and forth to the litter box, even though I have an extra one in the house, and she is sleeping in her other spots. It's so funny how they "talk" to us with their behavior. She's totally loving the canned food she is getting now twice a day before the medication. Me thinks I have a spoiled kitty! Debra ~ I remember a China Rain scent from one of the first fragrance oil orders I ever made years ago, and I remember loving it. Unfortunately, I think it was discontinued. , Mpfand! Hope you have the best of days! Well, I needed to get Zoe back to the vet so they could get a urine sample. We were there yesterday when they opened at 7:30, but her bladder was so small, I had to leave her there. No surprise she was angry with me when I picked her up around 1:30. They didn't get much, but suspect a UTI because of the odor and cloudiness. Hoping the antibiotics do the trick! Thanks for all of the concern! I have always loved scents and started with incense when I got my own apartment at 21. The candle and tart addiction didn't start until much later, though. We lived in Fort Wayne, IN for a couple of years when the girls were tiny, and I fell in love with a WalMart candle and would give anything to get another! Around the same time, a close friend of mine from childhood became a PartyLite consultant and I placed an order (including the Spiced Plum votives, Aria ) Funny, but because we started a relocation back to New Mexico, I got my order a few months later and it went into storage for a long time. It was another year before I tried them!! It was the Pumpkin Spice votive that sucked me in and I have been a goner for scent ever since. That was January 2001. I became a PartyLite consultant then and there and did it for several years. In 2006 I started making my own goodies, and found vendor wax a few years later. Hello girls I've been missing my candlebuddies. AmyJo and Debra ~ Glad to hear your kitties are doing better! Our little fur babies are temperamental, aren't they? They just love us so much. :wub: Maggie and Susan ~ I don't envy the snow you're getting one bit. It's pretty, but too scary on the roads for me. It's been one busy week here. The landscaping is finally all done and we should have water in the pool and spa by mid week. Also, had a couple of SolaTubes put in the kitchen this week, so lots of activity. Love the additional light they bring in! Unfortunately, our oldest kitty, Zoe, is exhibiting signs of stress from the move and all of the noise in the backyard. I caught her peeing a little bit on a new rug and she has never done that before. So...we were at the vet with her this week, too. Looks like this was a week for kitty visits! The vet is suspecting something called Sterile Cystitis, a stress-related condition that causes inflammation and would cause her to go outside the litter box. We're giving her a pain medication, and I heard about a product called Feliway for kitty stress. Trying that and keeping fingers crossed as things quiet down now, she will be more at peace. Sad I'll never be able to get any more. :( Melting a couple of jar candles I made a long time ago, close to 10 years. One is Strudel and Spice, and the other Diane's Carnation. They both smell wonderful and strong. And the other day, an old friend asked me for more tarts since she had been melting one I sent her six years ago. It was throwing for three days straight! Just goes to show, not all candles and tarts lose their scent over time. Have a great day!

Getting caught up on what all of my candle buddies are doing. Good to see you're all doing well. Today was the day we put DD#2 on the plane back to Albuquerque. We had such a nice week together, between there and here. Wish we didn't have to live in separate states and hoping at some point it gets easier. AmyJo ~ I hope your kitty is doing better.
