It’s no secret that Evoke Candle Company is one of our favorite candle companies, and for good reason. They make high quality, affordably luxurious candles that are unique and fun to see and burn. One of their latest – The Girl Collection – is no exception to the rule. Fun, girly, and pink, these candles capture some of the many different facets of all things girl. One of the candles in this collection was the Just A Girl candle…one of our favorites in the bunch!

Packaging/Presentation
Evoke is known for their unique and fun packaging for their candles, so it’s no surprise we were taken away with this Just A Girl candle. It came housed in a white box with the candle wrapped in tissue paper all nestled inside. This makes it feel like you’re unwrapping a present, making it perfect for gift-giving!
The candle itself was in soft pink vessel that will be a keepsake once all the wax is gone. The label on the outside depicted a strong young woman in the mindset of a modern-day Rosie the Riveter. The wax was white with a single wick. Overall the presentation was right in alignment with the theme of the candles and would make the perfect gift as is.
Authenticity
The cold sniff on this candle reminded me a bit of sweet oranges with no bitterness to it. There was a softness to the fragrance with just a hint of earthiness to it.
Strong. Powerful. Smart. Funny. Underestimate her at your will, because she’s just a girl. And she will kick your ass!
Once the candle started burning, I could get more of the soft orange-y notes, slightly sweet and wrapped in green notes with that unmistakable earthiness to round out the entire scent. It was soothing and relaxing with just the right amount of liveliness to it. It was one we didn’t mind having burning in the office all day!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
We found this to be a gentle fragrance that traveled well throughout the building. It’s one of those fragrances that had just the right amount of strength without being overpowering. We kept it burning in a main, open office and could smell it traveling on out into a waiting area and down the hall.
Burn Performance
This candle was fairly slow burning, so it took a while to get a full wax melt pool (wax out to the edges). We did eventually get a full wax melt pool and it was very even. The wick was easy to maintain and we never noticed any black sooting. We just kept the wick trimmed between burns and had no problems whatsoever. The candle burned down well and cleanup of the jar was super easy, leaving us with a gorgeous pink vessel to add our favorite trinkets to.
Conclusion
Just a Girl from Evoke Candle Company is a beautiful fragrance with an even more beautiful burn. The scent is intoxicating and feminine, without being too much so. This was a crowd pleaser for the men and women around our office, so we think you can’t go wrong either way if on the hunt for the perfect gift.
