I used to do some funny ones when I was kid. I'd count the steps as I was going up/down them. I wasn't thrilled with being in the car and getting stopped when on a bridge, so I'd count to a certain #, knowing the car would be moving again before I got to a very high #. Hmmm...I'm seeing a pattern here with the counting thing. Oh... Dr Freud... Can't think of any quirky ones I do now, tho....
