  1. Busy Bee Cinnamon Bun mixed with Cozy Cottage Vanilla Supreme in the kitchen. Dining room has Candle Haven Cinnamon Roll mixed with Southern Vanilla. Living room has Colonial Candles Seagrass candle Bathroom has YC Sun & Sand The bedroom where I am sitting at the computer has a tealight in Almost Paradise by Pure Integrity. I've quite quite a scent thing going today!
  2. Yup! I would say that is the case MOST of the time. I do have 2 vendors that I don't want to be without however, and will order occasionally without a sale! The person below me has electric melters going around the clock!
  3. I have Cherry Vanilla from TS in the kitchen. Nice and strong - I love it! The dining room has sugar cookie from Can-Do. Nice scent but not a lot of throw. The living room has Seagrass from Colonial. This is a light but refreshing scent. I really like it and it's a new one for me. The bathroom has YC Beach Towel (Kohl's YC version). It's ok. I'm using a candle and the scent is fair, but it's tunneliing like crazy. It's a new candle just started around noon and its been going all day with the very brief exceptions to trim the wick. I haven't had a tunneling problem with regular YC jars as long as I use a topper. I have a topper on this one but it's not making a difference. I've had a couple of scents going in the bedroom today. First I had Fresh Linen by PI. Nice scent but got tired of it. Now I have on Texas Tumbleweed by TS. This is different and I like it. I would never have ordered it, but it's one I would order now. It has a touch of "manliness" to it, but not overwhelming. It's something that most men would like, however, while still being a soft and lightly feminine scent.
  4. Welcome aboard the Wax Wagon!!! It's gonna be a looonnnnggggg ride by the time we're done with you ~ and you will love every minute of it! I've gotten tons of handy tips and learned quite a bit since I've been here. I've also spent a ton of money.....
  5. I think if I went around smelling like cake, I might get some strange looks from the teens I counsel!!! :)
  6. Today I am trying some scents from new vendors. In the kitchen I have Strawberry Preserves from FrontPorch. I have to say that this is absolutely the most realistic strawberry scent I have ever smelled. No other even compares. It smells exactly like someone just brought a couple of quarts of fresh picked strawberries into the house. I haven't cared for the other scents from here that I've tried, but this one is absolutely a keeper. I think I will probably reorder a couple more clamshells during the discounted shipping period. In the bedroom I am trying Rain by PI. I love this one too. I like the clean type scents but I am extremely particular about them. This one meets my specifications! Last night I had tried Vanilla by PI. It is also very good. Quite strong and I wouldn't say it's my favorite vanilla so far, but it's definatlely a keeper. I like just a tad more sweetness to my vanillas, but that would be the only thing that didnt make it perfect for me.
  7. I got my HoT order today! Needless to say, I'm trying them out! In the kitchen I have White Fudge Cookies - VERY strong and permeates the entire living area. I had to put out the YC Lilac candle I had going in the living room as the combo left a lot to be desired! I'm not sure about this one. I like it, but it's almost too sweet ~ and that certainly isn't usually an issue for me. It might be just that the initial scent is so strong. I have a feeling I'll be quite happy in a couple of hours. In the bedroom I have Cotton Candy Clouds. Again... VERY strong and very sweet. I do like this but I think that the next time I melt it, I will use half a tart! Holly surely does NOT hold back on her scents! For my blue, I have YC Ocean Water wafting throughout the bathroom, but I'm keeping the door closed so that it doesn't mingle with the other scents.
  8. Oh my.... and I thought I was the only one!!!!
  9. Today in the kitchen, I have an EveryBody's candle in the Cinnamon Vanilla scent complimented by a tart mixture of Candle Haven's Cinnamon Vanilla and the end of yesterday's AromaSoy Cinnamon Bun. Smells delicious The living room is hosting Bean Pod's Lilac Soy Beads. In my opinion, Bean Pod has the handle on the most realistic Lilac scent, although the throw is only moderate. The bathroom is a blue in YC's Ocean Water. And finally in the bedroom/computer room, I'm considering creating some kind of Pink Sugar concoction. I may try again the mix I made the other day that included Pink Sugar, Bean Pod Whipped Cream Soy Beads and either a sweet vanilla from somewhere or a Vanilla Bean Noel. I love surprising myself, and so far the Pink Sugar mixes are a real hit!
  10. I received an exciting package from Cat today!! I am keeping: McCarley's Stress Relief Clamshell CrossCreek Cherries in the Snow Essential Pleasures Butterfly Hugs Candle Haven Tulip Flowers I am replacing with: Front Porch Candle Company Sweet & Creamy Clamshell (just got this today & it's too strong for me - even cold!) McCarley's Sensual Amber Can-Do Baby Powder AromaSoy Cosmopolitan I am also keeping the PI First Bloom partial clamshell and replacing it with a nearly full bag (missing 1 tart) of Chocolate Creme Brulee by Candle Haven. I've sent an email to Cyn, so as soon as I have her address it will be in the mail. I'm hoping for tomorrow, but if not it will be Monday for sure!
  11. You've got a point there, Dabba! Overspending is something that is FAR too easy for me to do....
  12. I just wanted to make a comment... I have been ordering from Sam (the ebay rescue store) for about 2 years. I have probably placed 12-15 orders with her and I have never had a problem including the 2 orders I've placed in the last 3 months. I would be frustrated too if my order had a problem and I agree she is probably overwhelmed right now because this is surely not her norm. Still, I honestly do believe you will get what you ordered. She intermittently has some very sick and injured animals she is caring for and it's possible that during those times she has others helping her with orders. I can't say for sure about anything of course. It's just that I truly believe she is upstanding and honest and would not intentionally mean to shortchange or give poor service to anyone. That's all.... just wanted to offer up my own personal experience over the long haul...
  13. I have an interesting mix of scents for today... Here in my computer room I have what was left of a pink sugar tart from someone, and I added about a teaspoon of whipped cream soy beads from Bean Pod and a Cotton Candy tart from Essential Pleasures, as well as one Creamy Vanilla block from a McCarleys clamshell. I must say, that is a VERY good combo. Someone needs to make that one! In the bathroom, I have WNS Cast Away for my blue. In the living room is YC lilac and in the kitchen is CanDo Sugar Cookie mixed with Apple Strudel from Candle Haven - delicious! I'm really starting to enjoy the surprises I get from mixing things~!
  14. My 3 eldest children are boys....give it time!!! ;)
  15. Debra ~ You might like it, of course. I found it refreshing on cold sniff, but it became "irritating" to me after burning awhile. I'm not all that crazy about citrus type scents and although I could certainly detect it cold, it was far more powerful heated and I think that's what I didn't like about it. I'm beginning to think I'm not a good one to ask about scents. I tend to dislike some of the more popular scents, it seems, yet I really like some that a number of people don't care for. So... if you like citrus, you will probably really like Dune. Try the tart first. That's what I usually do - except for this time, of course!!
  16. Do you have a Yankee store anywhere near you? You may already know this, but if not, Yankee gives a 100% guarantee for all of their products. If you aren't satisfied, take them back - even if they are half burned - and they will refund your money with a receipt. If you don't have the receipt they will give you full credit for something else. I've used their guarantee several times when I have had a problem with a candle. They are so expensive that the guarantee makes it worth giving them a try. In fact, I recently returned a candle that smelled great cold in the store, but after burning it about an hour, it stunk! At least in my opinion. BTW, it was "Dune", one of their new summer scents. I don't think they will refund the shipping, but thankfully, Yankee shipping is not too bad.
  17. I can't wait!!! I've been thinking about what kind of goodies I can send along. Does anyone after me like Chocolate Creme Brulee by Candle Haven? I tried it because a couple of people had mentioned how good it was. Unfortunately, I have found that I'm not crazy about chocolate scents - even though I LOVE chocolate. I just might include that as one of my replacements. This is exciting!
  18. It was Karley at www.NorthfieldRoadGifts.com I think her website is still up but she is closed. She started her new site yesterday for just facial products.
  19. She sounds a lot like the person I ordered my marshmallow stuff from. Unfortunately, I only discovered her shortly before she decided to give it up. She much preferred selling her facial products, and the tarts and candles were secondary. I'm sure they take a lot of time and effort, especially when they're high quality. I'm willing to wait for the good stuff! Thanks so much to those of you who mentioned CYS. I also purchased a couple of scents from HoT during her last sale. I'm anxiously awaiting those to try. I don't know about Tuscaderos. I had ordered quite a bit during the Super Bowl sale, but ended up canceling. I'm hesitant to try again - plus it seems that she doesn't want to sell to some of the people on here who canceled orders. That was my first experience with her...and it's left a lasting impression - and I didn't even give her a hard time. Jewel ~ Is the S'Mores strong on the chocolate? As much as I love chocolate, I'm not crazy about it as a scent... Marshmallow and graham sounds good to me though!
  20. Yes! Yes! Yes! I just looked at her scent menu and it's right up my alley. Does she have regular sales by chance or should I just splurge now......
  21. I found a wonderful maker of long lasting, strong and absolutely wonderful marshmallow blends. Unfortunately, she decided to shutter the tart/candle part of her business to spend more time with her children. Perfectly good and understandable reason ~ but I have to say I'm very sad! The others that I've managed to find haven't been nearly as good, primarily because they weren't strong and didn't last very long. Does anyone love marshmallow like I do? If so, have you found a good vendor?
  22. That's odd.... In fact, I was at my local Yankee today and they had a bin of tarts from the last couple of seasons. I picked up a handful of Shortbread Cookie and commented to the sales person that I thought this was one of Yankee's best scents and best throwers ever. Then again, some of the scents I've heard are really good throwers don't work that way for me - and I don't usually like them strong to begin with. Our noses really ARE different, aren't they?!
  23. Hey Jewel ~ I'm with ya there! I'm on a cake binge myself!!! My husband doesn't usually say much, but he LOVES Nanny's Scratch Cake. It will definately be a reorder for me...
