First impression of Cake Batter Ice Cream:

I’m a bakery lover so you can bet the bank the moment I saw this scent on a Walmart shelf, I grabbed one and smelled the wax. I have an idea in my head of what cake batter ice cream should smell like and I imagine a runny vanilla batter, super heavy cream with hints of buttercream frosting. Honestly, my ideal scent and what I’m picturing right now is Cold Stone Creamery’s version and let me tell you, it is pure-freaking-YUM!! When I popped off the lid and smelled ScentSational’s version, it didn’t smell like my fantasy but it still smelled really good. The wax smelled like a warm vanilla cake. I can live with that. 🙂

Cake Batter Ice Cream from ScentSational’s is described as:

Homemade pink sugar cake drizzled with tantalizing accents of sugared berry icing infused with delectable fruit nectars and the sweet essence of ripe strawberries.

Wow! Had I not read that description, I would have never guessed there was so much berry notes in this scent. To me, this wax smelled like cake. A rich and warm white cake. Should pink sugar and all that fruity goodness come to life once melting… bring it on! I am skeptical but, bring it on!

Cake Batter Wax Melt Review

Melting Cake Batter Ice Cream:

This may seem silly but I loved the label and color wax for this fragrance. The label had a teal background with a big birthday cake with polka dot embellishments on it, then topped with colorful ice cream cones in pastel colors. The wax, a matching teal color. The packaging is really cute and made me even more excited to get to melting.

Which happens right now!

I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in two electric melters in my great room. Once melting, it took a good twenty minutes before the aroma was fully permeating the room and from then on out… a warm and sweet cake fragrance filled the air. No matter how hard I tried, I could’t make a lick of sugared berry or pink sugar. There was no musk or tartness to this aroma. It was pure bakery cake. Would I have loved more cake batter in the mix? Yes, for sure – but this aroma still smelled pretty darn good as far as a bakery scent goes. If you love warm cake scents… definitely smell this one next time you’re at Walmart.

Strength – I would rate Cake Batter Ice cream an 8 out of 10 in a really large room. 10 in medium to smaller rooms. Not bad at’tall.

Cake Batter Ice Cream is a limited addition scent which means, it won’t be around forever. If you’re tempted to try it, don’t wait. It will probably be gone by summers end.

Happy melting!
