What did my candle smell like?
You may be wondering why I’m just now reviewing a scent that’s been around since the beginning of time. Long story short, I just never got around to reviewing it until now… with a thousand different candles to review, I never know – at any given moment – what candle I’m in the mood to burn next. Lately with the hot Arizona summer, I’ve been craving sweet melon scents so Honeydew Melon from Yankee sounded perfect.

Cool slices of vine-ripened, sun-kissed melon delivered right from the farm.
Because Yankee candles are generally lightly scented for me, I stuck to a small powder room to burn this candle in and that’s where it stayed from beginning to end. Once lit, it took hours to reach a full melt pool and from then on out, the scent stayed pretty light – even in a tiny room. I was a little disappointed with the strength but the scent was still awesome… sweet honeydew melon. Loved it!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle between a 3 and 4. It was not strong and that’s even burning it in a tiny room… the scent stayed subtle from beginning to end. That was my only disappointment. Had it been even a tad stronger, I would have been much happier.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned pretty good. No wick issue, clean burn with no wasted wax. It did take hours to reach full melt pools with each lighting but that’s pretty normal with this brand.
Closing to my review:
Loved the scent – I just wish it would have been stronger and because of the strength, or lack of… I doubt I’ll purchase it again, no matter how much I liked it. Why? Because I can purchase this same fragrance from a huge variety of companies that are mega strong and room fillers. Total bummer too because it did smell delicious… sweet and mouthwatering honeydew melon.
