First impression of Sicilian Lemon:

Before reviewing Sicilian Lemon, know that I always start a Yankee Candle review off with a huge grain of salt. I know so many of us have a love/hate relationship with this brand. The indictments: They’ve changed. They aren’t as strong. The quality has diminished. They’re expensive, etc. I get it, but I still like to review them because whether you like it or not, Yankee is still a huge brand. With that said, I purchase Yankee candles knowing they’re lightly scented and just burn them in smaller rooms to get the best scent throw. It works for me. Be sure to check out our other Yankee Candle Reviews to see what I mean.

Phew! Now that I got that out of the way… onto the candle. Sicilian Lemon.

Full disclosure, I purchased my Sicilian Lemon candle a good year ago and am just now getting around to reviewing it. My bad. I think I just have so many other candles to review, this one fell by the wayside. Well, no more. I finally broke it out and am so glad I did. I love lemon! It’s my absolute favorite scent on the planet.

Here is the scent description for Sicilian Lemon:

So fresh and full of zest, like a bright day exploring hillside villages with sweet unexpected turns.

Fragrance Notes:
Top: Lemon Zest
Mid: Tart Lemon
Base: Vanilla, Sugar

Sicilian Lemon Candle Review

Mmmmm!!! Perfection! The moment I put my nose up to the wax, a sweet and vibrant lemon wafted all around my nose. I smelled lemon and sugar with the perfect touch of vanilla and zest. Loved it!

Time to light my candle!

I stuck to a small room to light this candle in and that’s where it stayed ’til the last drop of wax. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 5 hours to reach a full melt pool but the fragrance was moving through the room long before that and it was in two words…. lemony delicious!! This candle smelled exactly like the description… sweet lemon with the perfect touch of vanilla, sugar and tartness. No lemon cleaner to be had with this one. It was a pure and sweet, clean and fresh lemon – and I enjoyed every second of it!!

Strength – as with any Yankee candle (in my humble experience) the candle was lightly scented, even for a lemon scent. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a small room (which isn’t bad) but for the size and price of this candle, it should be much stronger. For a medium room, I would say 5 out of 10 and I wouldn’t even attempt trying in a large room. If you do, definitely go for their melts instead.

How Did My Sicilian Lemon Candle Burn?

This candle burned fine with no issues. I did have to trim the wick before each lighting which is totally normal for this brand. Clean burning from start to finish.

Closing to My Sicilian Lemon Candle Review:

Sicilian Lemon from Yankee Candle Company was pretty darn good and a fragrance I could definitely see myself purchasing again. This is the kind of scent you want to burn to really freshen up a small room. Yankee candles are lightly scented so small spaces are about the only size I would even attempt burning them in these days.

Lemon lovers… go smell this candle next time you’re near a Yankee or a retail outlet that carries this brand. It really is a great and fresh lemon scent. I loved it.

Happy candle hunting!
