Introduction to my Seductively French Review:

There is something very captivating to me about France. I am drawn to the culture, the food, the wine and the decor. So when asked to review some candles from a new-to-me company called Seductively French, I was more than thrilled. Combining my love of all things French and luxury candles??? Score!!!

Seductively French is the brainchild of Slavica and Jason Monczka, to celebrate the French culture and the “finer things in life.” The website is quite elegant and sophisticated. There are a wide range of products to chose from, all with the French culture in mind. Since the website was so easy to navigate, I soon found the candle and massage oil candle selections without a hitch. I was sent two candles to review – one from their Scented Candle line (Homme) and one of their romantic Massage Oil candles (Lavande Vanillee).

What Did My Seductively French Candles Look Like?Seductively French Luxury Candle Review

I expect luxury candles to have just a little bit more in the way of presentation, and the Seductively French candles did not disappoint. It starts with the website presentation – each candle is clearly displayed with a detailed description, including ingredients. Associated with each candle is a romantic poem – how classy!

Each candle is housed in a square, black gift box with a prominent label on one side. The label indicates the company name and chosen scent. Opening the box reveals the candle itself – no superfluous fluffing and packaging, which I found very refreshing. The candle vessels are mirrored votives which are stunning whether lit or not. The Homme candle container was black and the Lavande Vanillee container was silver. There is a label on the containers that is easily peeled off and I actually preferred mine burning with the label off. The mirrored votive was such a thing of beauty, I didn’t want anything in its way! The Homme wax was gray-ish in color and Lavande Vanillee was off-white.

What Did My Seductively French Candles Smell Like?

Homme

This candle is slated as a manly type scent, but one that can be enjoyed by both sexes. Here is a portion of the scent description along with the associated poem:

Bold amber, musk, and thick worn leather embrace you.
When grey Homme is lit
A gentleman’s scent will emit.
Who needs 50 shades of grey
When this 1 can lead to foreplay.

The cold sniff on this candle was light, but distinctly masculine.  I could not pick out individual notes before lighting the candle. I lit this beauty and left it to its own devices in my small testing room. I returned an hour later to an incredibly sexy, seductive aroma. The amber and musk seemed to swirl about the room and enveloped me in pure bliss! There was a heavier note also present, which I was not ever able to specifically decipher. Was it the leather? Perhaps. It didn’t matter to me, though, and I quickly fell in love with this scent. This candle was able to fill my small powder room and managed to creep outside the door with the door cracked. I did move it to a large living area and the scent throw was not as noticeable there. That was OK with me, because I was perfectly happy with the performance in the powder room. The scent lasted throughout the candle burn.

Lavande Vanillee Body & Massage Candle

A massage candle made for two
Fragrant essential oils will make you coo
Enflame to melt enticingly warm
On bare skin it creates a passionate storm.

Seductively French Lavande Vanillee Candle

Both lavender and vanilla can be tricky scents. Lavender can come off smelling quite medicinal and while I love a good vanilla, they can be hard to find. Many of them can take on a cheap, fake smell. This lavender/vanilla mix I was assured I would enjoy – and boy, did I! The lavender smelled true but not overpowering, tamed by the creamy vanilla. The cold sniff was light but pleasant. After lighting this candle, I left it to burn in my powder room briefly (as I wanted to test the massage oil ASAP!). When I returned about a half hour later, there was a soft, beautiful fragrance that filled the room. Not overwhelming, but I could definitely tell the candle was there. It was a background note, much as I expected since the primary function of this candle is as a massage oil candle. They are even upfront with you about this on the Seductively French site. Once the massage oil was rubbed into my skin, the vanilla became the more prominent note. This was a sultry vanilla instead of a foodie-type vanilla.

How Did My Seductively French Candles Burn?

Beautifully! The Homme scented candle provided a slow, even burn. It took a while to obtain a full melt pool, but once it did I was pleased that there would be no wasted wax. There was no sooting or wick problems. I trimmed the wick at the beginning of each burn, then I was able to leave it alone. Loved it! The Lavande Vanillee massage oil candle had a bit faster of a burn. It certainly reached a full melt pool sooner than the scented candle. No wick problems here. Once the flame was extinguished, I was able to pour the melted wax onto my skin for a warm, soothing sensation. I thought this process might be messy, but it really wasn’t.

Closing To My Seductively French Candle Review:

Being the girly girl that I am, I seem to be drawn to elegant things and products that make me feel pampered. Seductively French filled the bill for that – no doubt! I felt the candles were very luxurious and had an air of sophistication about them that many larger luxury brands offer (without necessarily the same sticker-shock prices!). The Homme scented candle was a beauty to burn and it performed well, too. Perfection!! The Lavande Vanillee candle just might have made a lavender-convert out of this gal. It was romantic, charming and functional! The massage oil itself did wonders for my frequently abused hands. My skin was so soft and supple… and it smelled great! What more could I ask for?

While Seductively French does not carry a huge line of scent options, they do all sound very beguiling. And, well…seductive. I’d definitely give these candles a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Happy candle burning
