Welcome to What’s That In My Melter?! These are quick reviews to highlight some things I’m currently throwing into my wax melter, to give my thoughts and impressions on various products and scents. You’re likely to find all sorts of things going into my warmers these days, from votives to beads to candle remnants…and a little mixology to boot. Just about anything goes!
First up is a Mango Peach Salsa votive from Yankee Candle Company. I rarely have the occasion to burn votives in my home, but I love using them for wax melts. For this particular one, I cut it in half since my warmer bowl wouldn’t accommodate the entire thing. The scent description from Yankee reads:
Sweet and zesty…juicy mangoes and peaches livened with citrus, ginger flowers and pink pepper.

This scent was fantastic! Lots of fresh fruitiness with just a little bit of a bite from the pink pepper. There was a good blend of peaches and mangoes and it was definitely more fruity sweet than spicy. The half-melted votive did well for scenting up a small bedroom. I’m not sure how it would play out in a large jar. Using it this way, though, I found it a good, summery scent.
Do you use votives as wax melts?
