  1. Hi everyone! My name is Heidi, I'm 35, and have been married to my husband for 13 1/2 years. We have 4 kids - Abby is almost 12, Cole is 8 1/2, Gage is 5, and my baby, Seth, is 3. I'm a stay-at-home-mom and I homeschool the kids. I love to read, sew, knit, and burn tarts all day long. It's definitely an addiction that I gladly indulge in. LOL! Oh, and I live in the great state of NC. I look forward to getting to know all of you, and share in our candle/tart burning hobby.
  2. mttiffany--glad you are getting settled in Texas. I've never been to Texas or Colorado--lived all my life in either SW Iowa, NW Missouri, or SW Missouri so I'm a midwesterner. Hope you get to liking it once things settle down. Having your own smells in the house should make it seem more like home. My Beanpod Raspberry Lemonade turned out to be a winner. I dumped it after 12 hrs but you could still smell it pretty good. I have Bizzy B's Gournet Sugar Cookie on for the evening. It is good as always. You all have a good evening and night and I'll be checking with you in the morning.
  3. momuvtwo - except at Christmastime when I like to have the cold & snow, I'll trade your 68 degrees for our winter weather anytime! They're predicting another possible snowstorm for Monday...hopefully it will go out to sea... cat - your house sound great, huge utility bills and all - I love Victorians. mpfand & debra - I'm also a big fan of the Sun & Sand even though it's not my usual type. I think smells just like the beach! Now you've all got me thinking about spring & summer scents...
  4. Well, it's been almost 5 hrs and my Beanpod Raspberry Lemonade soybeads are doing great. I really like this scent. Can't say I smell much raspberry but the lemon is great. I like lemon scents but have trouble finding any that suit me. Any ideas from anyone? thanks
  5. Mornin' everyone~ I have Rosegirls' Raspberry Patchouli melting. It's a very soothing, pretty scent.
  6. Good Morning all--today I have Beanpod's Raspberry Lemonade on--wonderful smell but will see how long it lasts. I tried it this past summer and it didn't last too long but I have found that the weather and temp in the house can affect the scent longevity so we will see. I really like it if it will just last. Will report later. Have a great day, everyone.
  7. Melting YC's Cider Donut this evening and it is delicious! Making me want to eat something sweet!
  8. I'm melting Crosscreek's Country Bumpkin, left over from my fall stash. I love this one. I'll just have to make sure to melt the rest so I have to reorder! LOL
  9. mpfand--glad you like the YC Beach Walk--I thought it was much better than I expected and nothing like your usual beach scents. I guess that's why we have to try so many scents and brands as you just never know what will be good and what won't. Have a great evening.
  10. Cat--how neat that your burner is working out so well--it is always great when you like something even better than you'd hoped. I received my Bizzy B's order today and one from Tartburners so that was fun. For this evening I have YC Buttercream in the upstairs bath and Beanpod Toasted Hazelnut soybeads downstairs. I love their hazelnut and am giving the buttercream another try. Well, have a great evening all. Well, the buttercream is fine but my husband and son just can't stomach the hazelnut--guess I'll give the rest to some friends. I replaced it with Village Garden Rose--nice.
  11. I'm melting Nene's Hot Buttered Rum. It is a very nice scent. I don't know if it is authentic though because I've never had any hot buttered rum. Maybe I'm missing on out something.
  12. Hi Shannon and welcome--glad you decided to tell us a little about yourself. I hope your romance works out to be one of those you read about with the former sweethearts reuniting. I agree with you that with all the different ages, lifestyles and locales on this forum we can still bond over scent. Neat, huh? Will be looking forward to hearing what brands and styles of products you like. I have gotten a lot of good ideas from the others on here already. Of course, that means more shopping--Ha! Nice to meet you--have a great day. Nancy (trep)
  13. Shannon, I'm glad you are not lurking anymore. I also wish you the best of luck with your high school sweetheart :) I moved around a bit in the early years of my marriage and found it very exciting. We've been living in the same house and town now for over 10 years and I'm itching to pick up and try someplace new. My kids don't like the idea of moving, though. I am very interested in Hilton Head, and have heard that Beaufort is a good option in that area. I assume that the home prices are not as expensive there as in Hilton Head. Do they have a good school system?
  14. Thanks for the info, Cat. I have bookmarked their website. This morning I am melting Nene's Sugar Plum Fairy.
  15. Good Morning all--this morning it is YC's Apricot--this is one of my favorites. I sure am enjoying reading all of your choices each morning. Everyone enjoy their day.
  16. Good afternoon everyone--I ended up being gone today-just got home and am melting Country Chunkie's Blackberry Jam Butter Cookie--yum! So far, I've liked most of her scents so may have to place another order. Hope you all have a nice evening.
  17. Cat, I will have to check out Illuminescents ! Is this their website? http://www.illuminescentscandles.com/index.html What your your favorite scents ?
  18. Hey fleur - waving too - much warmer, thank goodness. Can't wait til spring now...
  19. Boogie--you have my sympathy--I hate to start out the day with a tart that doesn't work out. I have had to open all the windows and run the fans alot myself lately to try and get rid of the bad ones. Have you noticed that the ones that aren't good are the ones that linger in the house? Oh well, hope your lemon pound cake does the trick.
  20. Uuuuugh. I just had to turn off the melter with the Eternel Ember in it. It smelled so good cold, but became extremely strong. My eyes are burning and my nose is irritated. I didn't even use half of a tart. It was more like a third. This was a scent listed under perfume. I should have known better. I just popped Crosscreek's Lemon Pound Cake in and I'm hoping that the lemon is strong enough to overpower that other stuff. Gonna go open my windows now.....
  21. Glad you're safe, Trep~ This morning, I am melting Eternal Ember from Candle's by Victoria. Good thing I sliced this huge tart in half, because it is strong-Patchouli, mahogany, and hawaiian florals.
  22. Hi Everyone--I have YC Blackberry on this morning. We had a wild night of storms and tornadoes all around us last night so felt like putting on a favorite this morning. Thankfully, our area missed the worst of everything. Hope all of you are fine in your areas and happily melting away.
  23. Melting a classic, this evening- YC's Sage & Citrus.
