Intro To My Floral Soy Candle Review
This season can be weighted down by heavy, spicy scents, so I welcomed the ability to try out this floral soy candle from Baan Pomelo. My first candle, Sunshine, was a hit in this household, so I was excited to give this candle a whirl. I have a new-found love for floral scents, so I was curious about how this one would be to my nose.
First Impressions of My Floral Soy Candle
I love the look of these candle jars – they are an opaque white that oozes a sense of serenity. This particular candle had a light pink label with scent name and branding. Just beautiful! This was an 8 ounce candle with a single wick. There was a silver lid to top it off, adding to the understated elegance.
What struck me most on first sniff were the fresh, green notes in this candle. Ohmygoodness – so fresh and so real! Like being outside in a freshly dug garden. I also smelled some light, white floral notes. Here’s the scent description:
Our SIAMESE GARDEN aromatherapy candle is designed to clear your mind and energize your day. The scent is perfect for lifting up your spirits and warming your day. It goes well for any occasion including when you host a get together or dinner, and also goes great with a relaxing bath. Our SIAMESE GARDEN candle is made with Jasmine, Orange and a touch of Cedarwood essential oils.
I really found that description interesting because it didn’t mention the green notes. I wasn’t getting any orange or cedarwood, but I was anxious to light this one up and see what warming the wax would do.
I used this candle in a small guest bathroom to see what it would do. The candle didn’t take a long time to get going, but it was more of the white floral I noticed initially. It was slightly sweet and bright. I still smelled the green notes, just not as much. I decided that might be the cedarwood I was smelling. I never got any orange or citrusy notes. Overall, the scent was a beautiful, soothing floral mix that made me long for Spring. In a word? Intoxicating.
I was able to enjoy this candle in the guest bathroom and it scented that area well. It was light and bright, just enough for the space and what would be expected for an aromatherapy candle. The website mentions that this candle is perfect for a get together and I agree – it scents the area enough to provide the lovely, pleasing aroma, but not enough to offend people with scent sensitivities.
How Did This Floral Soy Candle Perform?
This candle had a thick cotton wick, just like the Sunshine candle. The flame on this one started out pretty big, but I didn’t have the same ussues with this wick as I did with Sunshine. The wax melted all the way across for a full wax melt pool. The candle burned evenly throughout and I didn’t see any black soot. Another nice, slow burn – this candle lasted about 50 hours.
Closing To My Floral Soy Candle Review
I loved this floral mix scent – it was beautiful and relaxing and just right. The scent throw was perfect for a smaller space. If you’re on the fence about floral scents or if you like just a little bit of floral, this candle would be a good one to try. It’s not overly perfumey like some floral candles can be, which is one of the reasons I loved it so much.
