Intro To My Candle Review
I begin my Evoke Candle Company Brighton Rock Candle Review by first stating how excited I was to review this particular candle. I’ve had so much fun with these Evoke candle reviews, Brighton Rock seemed to be another one to make my heart skip a beat. The colors. The fun names. The scents. And with this one, the candy! This candle came with a stick of rock candy – yum!

First Impressions of My Candle
I love the candles from Evoke because they are like unwrapping a present from start to finish. This particular candle was housed in a bright blue box with the company and scent name clearly displayed. Inside, the candle was wrapped in some pretty tissue paper. The candle vessel was just as gorgeous as others from Evoke. This one was designed by David Pop, a Brighton artist. The bright blue color attracted me immediately. The artwork was really unique and amazing! And then we can’t forget the stick of bright blue rock candy. It was huge (and delicious, I might add).
This was a soy wax candle with a single wick. Cold sniff was sweet but not sticky sweet. There were some notes that reminded me of licorice. Mmmm!
Brighton is a seaside town in England, which has served as a holiday destination for over 200 years, and they are known for their “rock” – a stick of candy. It’s also known as the scene for street fights between The Mods & The Rockers – immortalized in The Who’s Quadrophenia!
The fragrance notes are described as “sweet, fruity, candy.” I wasn’t getting fruity on cold sniff, but I was curious if that would come out in the burn.
I lit my candle in a master bedroom and was soon met by the sweet, yummy scent of hard candy. As it continued to burn, I really do think I picked up some licorice notes. That wasn’t in the scent description, but I declare that’s what my nose picked up. Just hints of it, though. I’m not wild about straight licorice, but that wasn’t what this one was. It was sweet, definitely “candy-like,” but not cloying at all. I think the weight of the licorice in scent kept it from being too sticky sweet…at least in my mind. So candy sweet, but not cotton candy sweet, if that makes sense.
This candle was delicious. It had a moderately strong scent and the throw was fantastic. I could smell it all in the master bedroom and on into the master bath. Sweet! (wink, wink)
How Did My Candle Perform?
This candle was another slow burner, which I really like about Evoke. I was able to get a full wax melt pool in about an hour. I had a nice clean burn without any black sooting. My flame stayed pretty big but never out of control. I would burn this candle for about 3-4 hours at a time, which seemed just about right.
Closing To My Candle Review
This wraps up our Brighton Rock candle review. Our takeaway is that this candle is fun, bright, and a welcoming sweet scent without being cloying. I would definitely order this one again and I could see gifting this to a few candle-loving friends.
