First Impression of We Whisk you a Merry Christmas:
We Whisk you a Merry Christmas… cute scent name! The actual scent – Maple Cinnamon Pancakes… um… YUM!!!! Does that not sound super delicious bakery lovers? That was my thought when I purchased this candle to review. The moment I received it and smelled the wax… SWOON!! Right after, I actually regretted not purchasing a few more when I had the chance. It smelled amazing!!

Warm maple syrup, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, fresh ground cinnamon.
Mmmm!! Smelling the wax, I smelled fluffy buttermilk pancakes first with hints of maple syrup in the background. Cinnamon… not so sure I smelled that but I wouldn’t mind if it makes its presence known once the candle was burning. And with that said, let’s find out!!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom, crossing my fingers it was strong enough to stay there. I loved the initial scent so much, I was hoping for a room filler. Once the wicks were lit, it took the average 20 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… oh my goodness… YUM!!! My bedroom smelled like buttermilk cake batter and maple syrup. I still couldn’t smell cinnamon but in the end, I was perfectly okay with that. The buttermilk and syrup was plenty delicious for me. So much so, I wanted to eat this candle. What does that mean… it means I’m heading back to Bath & Body Works to buy a few more before they’re gone. That’s what it means. Loved!! The biggest negative… how it burned, see below. ☹
Strength – I would rate this candle a 7/8 in a really large room. Not super strong but a nice and steady medium. 10 in medium to smaller rooms.
How did my candle burn?
Sadly, this candle did not perform very well and I was SOOOOO very bummed about that. Around a fourth of the way down (not even halfway,) the wicks started to fizzle out. One would go out, then two and from there, it was a struggle keeping all three lit. I tried digging wax out from around the wicks, I tried removing wax, I tried everything but to no avail, the wicks would not cooperate. They were obviously defective. HUGE disappointment.
Closing to my review:
I absolutely loved We Whisk you a Merry Christmas (Maple Cinnamon Pancakes) – I just wish it would have performed better and that’s the biggest downside to Bath & Body Works candles. They’ve had issues with their defective wicks for several years now and it’s apparently still a problem every once in a blue moon. I still loved the scent though and already ordered it again to try one more time. Hoping this next one burns better. We shall see.
With that said… I wanted so badly to give this candle a 5-star rating across the board but I couldn’t. Reviews must reflect the overall experience and this specific candle did not perform correctly. Do I still recommend it? Yes, if you’re a bakery lover and you understand the wick issue this brand sometimes has, go for it. You’ll love it. I was over the moon and hope it sticks around.
