Intro To My Candle Review
Sweet Bunny Carrots from Yankee Candle Company was one of the trio of Yankee Candle Easter scents we collectively reviewed not long ago. Easter is over, but this candle is still available for purchase, so I wanted to be sure to get the review for this specific candle up on our website. I love unique-smelling scents and this one certainly fit the bill!
First Impressions of My Candle
This large jar candle was the typical standard apothecary style with a gorgeous orange coloring to the wax. There was a single, well-placed, thick wick. The label was that of several small carrots in and out of a basket.
On cold sniff, I smelled a little bit of sweet earthiness. It was really hard to describe but it was a pleasant smell. Looking at the scent description:
A refreshing blend infused with the essence of spring — sweet carrots with sugar beet and a touch of citrus.
Top: Citrus, Watery Notes
Mid: Carrot Blossom, Cucumber
Base: Sugar Beet, Musk
I lit this candle in a small bathroom (given my disappointment with Bunny Vanilla Cupcake) and waited to see what would happen. I got the faint scent of that sweet earthiness that sweetened even a little more as the wax warmed. It got a little bit deeper and somewhat perfume-y as it burned more. The scent was very, very light. I could smell it in the bathroom like a soft background scent. It didn’t travel outside that space, though, so the throw was pretty weak. Bummer.
How Did My Candle Perform?
Like most large Yankee Candle jars, Sweet Bunny Carrots was a slow burner. It took a really long time to get an almost-full wax melt pool. Some of the wax did get hung up on the sides of the neck of the jar. As the candle burned down, the pool did even out more. I kept my wick short on this one and didn’t notice any black sooting.
Closing To My Candle Review
This Sweet Bunny Carrots candle was unique and I really liked it. I just wish it was a little bit stronger and threw a little better. I would like to try this particular fragrance in their Easy MeltCup or use one of the votives as a wax melt in my warmer.
