First impression of Strawberry Lava Cupcake:
Strawberry Lava Cupcake is my third cupcake themed candle I’ve burned so far from Goose Creek and based off cold sniff alone…. YUM!!
This was a darling candle by the way. The wax was a soft rose colored pink with the label showing decadent pink frosted cupcakes with colorful candied sprinkles on top.

Nice description. First impression… I smelled a sweet strawberry cream and happily, I even detected warm bakery notes. It smelled pretty authentic too, not synthetic like many strawberry scents can take on. YAY!!!!
Time to find out how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom where it happily stayed from beginning to end. Once lit, it didn’t take long to start noticing the fragrance, maybe 15 minutes, and the aroma… a sweet and candied strawberry fragrance that reminded me of cotton candy. Sugary and sweet. The bakery notes went away once the candle was burning and that did bum me out a little bit but overall, I still enjoyed it.
After burning this candle one week straight, I still hold firm that this scent was a strawberry and vanilla cotton candy. That’s how I would describe Strawberry Lava Cake – it wasn’t a bakery cupcake at all.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a large room. 10 and above in a medium and smaller rooms. Definitely a nice scent throw with this candle.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end. Just make sure you keep those wicks trimmed.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed Strawberry Lava Cupcake quite a bit. It was a nice and sweet strawberry with swirls of vanilla. I never did detect musk in the mix and I was okay with that. Musk would have changed the overall scent and I was perfectly happy with a strawberry and vanilla.
So if you were wondering what this fragrance smells like, now you know. If you love strawberries and vanilla, this is your candle. If you are after a sweet strawberry cupcake… you may be disappointed.
