Cons
While we we smitten with HomeLights’ Strawberry Prosecco soy candle, the Rosewood Macaron candle scent really drew us in. The thought of combining the sweetness of these light, airy cookies with heavier woodsy notes
was just too good to pass up! As mentioned in our prior review, these candles are HUGE and they offer plenty of value for the money spent. We couldn’t wait to see how this particular candle would hold up under intense scrutiny!

Packaging/Presentation
The Rosewood Macaron candle is a part of the Selection Series from HomeLights. The candle I received was HUGE…a whopping 33 ounces of candle. It was in a gorgeous maroon candle jar that was more narrow at the base and blossomed towards the top. There were three, well-spaced wicks in the white soy wax. The label on the front clearly displayed the company and scent names. It could easily be removed if you wanted a clear, clean jar. There was no lid, but there was a clear dust cover on the top. The candle was stunning by its sheer size and would make a beautiful gift. A+ for packaging and presentation!

Authenticity
The cold sniff for this Rosewood Macaron candle was dominated by the soft woodsy notes, with just a bit of citrus. I wasn’t really smelling the macaron part when smelling it cold. Looking at the scent description:
An oriental woody fragrance. The composition is lemon peel, strawberry, peach, bergamot top notes. Heart notes are rosewater, violet, lavender, jasmine, caramel, toasted tonka. Base notes are rosewood, sandalwood, patchouli, amber, vanilla, sugar, musk.
After reading through the scent description, I could tell this was going to be a fairly complex fragrance…and it was! Once the candle was lit, I could smell some more of the citrus notes with some sweet floral notes. The warmth of the rosewood came through as it burned more, and settled into a beautiful, cozy fragrance. This scent was warm and was mixed with elements of sweetness, both from the bits of fruity notes and from the creamy vanilla. I think the macaron part might be from walking into one of those French patisseries with a wide range of macaron cookies, all of different flavors and colors. This candle fragrance was just that complex and that divine.

Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I used this candle in a large, open space as I expected great things from this ginormous candle. The candle did well in the space it was in, with a moderately strong scent overall. I thought the scent throw was pretty good, as I could smell the candle burning well past the room it was in. I wouldn’t describe it as super strong, but strong enough to know it was burning and to fragrance my home like I had been baking all day.

Burn Performance
This candle was a slow burner, which means you’ll get a lot of burn time out of this one. It did take a really, really long time to get an almost-full wax melt pool since it was so slow burning. I did have just a small rim of wax on one side of the jar that didn’t melt all the way – I think if I had kept it burning long enough, it would have reached the edges. The burn itself was clean, clean, clean. No black sooting and the wicks remained manageable even after several hours of burning at one time.

Conclusion
The candles from HomeLights have us sold BIG time! They are such luxurious candles at very reasonable prices. The Rosewood Macaron candle registers as one of our favorites due to the complexity of the scent and the absolutely beautiful jar. I’m already making my Christmas list with HomeLights making an appearance or two!
