Raspberry, Pure Radiance Yankee Candle Review

First impression of Raspberry:

Raspberry is from Yankee’s Pure Radiance line which have creamier and softer wax with wooden wicks. Pretty vessels too. The glass is oval shaped with ribbed sort of veined glass. See picture above. The bright red wax smelled sweet and fruity. Raspberry all the way.

Here is the scent description:

Lusciously full and perfect raspberry . . . with hints of black currant and leaf.

Hmmm. Smelling the wax, I think I could smell a bit of currant in the mix. I smelled sweet berries and something else I couldn’t quite pinpoint. It had to be the currant. I liked it, now let’s see how this candle performs!

I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the very end. Once the wick was lit, it didn’t take long to reach a full melt pool and the aroma from then on out was a sweet and perfect berry scent. It was just very light.

Strength – I would rate this candle a 5 out of 10 in a really smaller room. Wouldn’t even attempt burning it in anything larger.

How did my candle burn?

I had an interesting time with this candle. The wick was wooden and lit right up but the flame really seemed out of control the first half of this candle. I had to constantly trim the wick multiple times a day to keep it steady. Not too big of a deal but another huge reminder to never leave a candle burning unattended. The second half, the flame tapered down to a nub causing an uneven and slow burn. It was one extreme to the other. Very strange.

Closing to my review:

I really love wood wick candles and did enjoy this one, even with the wick issues I had. The only negative was how light this fragrance was, something to keep in mind should you give this candle a whirl. The scent itself… a sweet berry scent I enjoyed.
