Intro To My Wax Melt Review
Shortie’s Candle Company is one of those companies that I always have on my “To Do” list. I’ve been a fan of their products for a long, long time. I’ve found myself distracted with a number of new, shiny objects on the market, but Shortie’s is just one of those tried and true companies that will always be one of my candle staples. They have so many scents available to choose from & they seem to always have a sale. When I found out about their new, all natural wax melts, I knew I had to try them! The quality of Shortie’s with a wax melt product that was 100% phthalate and paraffin free? Count. Me. In.
I’m reviewing every last one of these lovelies, so sit back & get ready for a Shortie’s Candle Company Fest. First up? Pumpkin Souffle.
First Impressions of My Wax Melt
I really liked the look of this clamshell wax melt. It was not the typical rectangular clamshell package – this was shaped more like a teardrop or a leaf. Since the current scent lineup is centered around Fall & the holiday season, I’m going to venture this was meant to conjure up thoughts of a fallen leaf. In any case, this wax melt package was HUGE! A whopping 3.30 ounces. Cool!
I took the lid off to get my cold sniff on. I took one whiff and…WOW! It smelled FABULOUS! I could smell creamy pumpkin with hints of sweet spices and some warm vanilla notes. I was amazed at how yummy this scent smelled cold. Checking out the scent description:

I would say that was pretty accurate. There was no mention of vanilla, but I declare it had to be in there. The cold sniff was pretty strong, too, so I was very hopeful about the warmed wax.
How Did My Wax Melt Perform?
I ended up using one of these pieces in a 24W bulb melter in a large, open living space. The wax was fairly soft and started melting right away. I could start smelling that yummy, creamy pumpkin scent – not too sweet, not too heavy. It seemed just right. And yes..I would say a bit buttery. I could also get whiffs of sweet cinnamon swirling in the air. I still declare I smelled some creamy vanilla in there. Such a delicious blend!
The one piece seemed to fill the open living area well. The scent itself was stronger on cold sniff to me, but it still had a really good scent throw. I could smell it throughout that space and on down the hallway. I had that one piece in my melter all day long & it didn’t miss a beat. I traveled with this wax melt and used a piece in a 20W hotplate melter and it did a fantastic job of filling my hotel room with this mouthwatering scent.
Closing To My Wax Melt Review
I’m in love with the concept of these new wax melts – this one gave off an absolutely delicious scent and scent throw. I noticed from the product description that this wax melt does contain fragrance oil, but that fragrance oil is phthalate free. The price is a little steep, but it all evens out considering how long these wax melts lasted. If you’re looking for a delicious pumpkin scent for the Fall, I think you’d be pleased with Pumpkin Souffle from Shortie’s.
