What did my candle smell like?
With summer just about here, I’ve been in the mood for fresh and fruity scents so when I saw Papaya Punch on Colonial’s scent list and on sale to boot… I purchased one to review.
Scent description for Papaya Punch:
Papaya Punch helps you savor the wedges of succulent mango fruit, sugared guava, and sun blushed papaya.
First impression… loved it! The wax smelled like all of the above in the description… papaya being the most dominant element. It totally smelled like a tropical smoothie. YUM!!!!
Time to see how it burns!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and realized minutes after lighting the wicks, I could easily have moved it to a larger room. In fact… it was actually a little too strong for the room I had it in.
Once the wicks were lit, it didn’t take long for the fragrance to drift through the room and oh my goodness, seriously strong fragrance. The aroma… a sweet medley of papaya, mango and guava. Very refreshing and super strong!! This medium candle saturated my bathroom with scent so I did end up moving it to a bigger room to see how it performed and it did great. This candle definitely packs a punch. The overall fragrance smelled like a tropical slushy.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 15 in a small room, 8 to 9 in a medium room and maybe a 6/7 in a large room.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. Zero issues. Clean and even burn from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
Papaya Punch was a most excellent fruity scent and highly recommend it if you love strong tropical scented candles. This definitely ranks in the strong category.
I don’t see this scent listed on Colonial’s website but hoping they bring it back. It’s a keeper.

This candle gets 5 stars across the board. Presentation was great, the fragrance matched the description to a “T,” it performed perfectly and the strength was out of this world. Loved it!!
