What Did My Candle Smell Like?
Fifty Shades fans… have you tried Grey from Kringle Candle yet? It sounded pretty intriguing from the description and I couldn’t wait to experience it for myself. Would it remind you of Christina Grey himself or just another interpretation? There are quite a few out there.

Sophisticated to the max, Grey brings together a confident blend of citrus, florals, exotic woods and musk. Undertones of vanilla and Tonka bean provide an elegant base.
Mmm!! Sounds perfect. Smelling the wax for the first time, I smelled everything in the description… fresh citrus, woodsy notes, musk and even sweet vanilla. Key notes… fresh citrus and musk. LOVED!!
Time to see how this candle burns.
I lit Grey in my large master bedroom to start out and would say it took a good 20 minutes or so to really start noticing the aroma. Once I did, a fresh citrus and creamy musk fragrance filled my bedroom with a subtle aroma. Mmm!! It was very nice and masculine.
I admit, I’ve tried my fair share of Fifty Shades fragrances out of sheer curiosity and Kringle’s version is by far my favorite so far. Maybe because it was simplistic and not over the top – it was actually believable. What exactly do I mean? A lot of versions I’ve tried didn’t smell very good, as in… they smelled either too perfumy or potent or just too over the top and fake. Basically, yuck. Grey however smelled like a classic, airy and fresh masculine cologne or aftershave. A scent I could absolutely imagine Christian Gray wearing. Very nice scent.
Strength – on a scale or 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 6 in a large room. 8 and above in a medium room, 10 in a small room. Not super strong but it gave a nice medium to light scent throw in my large bedroom.
How Did My Candle Burn?
My candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues, clean and even burn from beginning to end. A+
Closing To My Grey Candle Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed Grey and would absolutely purchase it again. And just a FYI… whether you loved the books or hated them, this candle was pretty awesome. Heck, I’m not even sure if this scent is even related to the series. I’m just guessing it is by the name and picture on the label. Regardless, I loved it. From my perspective, I’m a candle lover and also enjoy masculine scents and this candle smelled pretty yummy to me. Definite two thumbs up.
