Fresh Baked Bread Candle Review

Fresh Baked Bread

Brand: Kringle Candle Co

Type: 22oz large candle

Fragrance: Fresh Baked Bread

Scent Strength: Medium

First Impression of Fresh Baked Bread:

Fresh Baked Bread wasn’t a candle I would normally purchase but it sounded like such a perfect scent for a cold and blustery day. The aroma of fresh baked bread drifting through my home? Sure, why not?

Here is the scent description I pulled from Kringle’s website:

Instantly-recognizable, familiar and utterly comforting, our Fresh Baked Bread creates the perfect blend of homey, delicate sweetness and yeasty earthiness that only oven-hot, crusty loaves can offer.

First impression… the wax smelled pretty light on cold sniff so I had a feeling I needed to let it burn for a good hour to let the aroma really come to life. And with that said…. let’s get started.

Fresh Baked Bread Candle Review

I decided to stay conservative and light this candle in a small room to start out and that’s where it stayed till the very end. Once the wicks were lit, it took a good half an hour to reach a full melt pool and the aroma…. very interesting. The fragrance smelled like bread alright but more of a sweet bread rather than a classic loaf of white crusty bread. Just to be sure, I gave it a few days and after about 4 days of burning this candle, I think I’m right and am sticking to my original assessment – sweet bread all the way, like the Mexican sweet bread you purchase at a local Spanish bakery. See picture to the left for visual reference. That’s the kind of bread I’m talking about. This candle smelled very different and unusual and a fragrance you pretty much need to experience yourself to really understand and appreciate what I mean.

Strength – I would rate this candle a 7 out of 10 in a small room. It wasn’t super strong but gave a steady medium throw. In medium to larger rooms, I would burn two candles at once or go with melts for a stronger scent throw.

How Did My Candle Burn?

This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues… clean burning from start to finish.

Closing To My Fresh Baked Bread Candle Review:

What a very unique scent Fresh Baked Bread turned out to be. Full disclosure – I wouldn’t say I loved it but I didn’t dislike it either. It was one of those fragrances that left me feeling perplexed. Was it crusty bread or something sweeter? Maybe a bit of both. It was definitely different and a scent you should try for yourself to test out if you like foodie type aroma’s.

Kringle candles are really gorgeous and slow burning so you definitely get your money’s worth. They also have sales every so often so if you’re on a budget, wait for one and then shop away. I’ve found some great scents here.

Happy candle hunting!
