Switched out the melters. In the living room I'm going matchy-matchy: melting SH Frosted Lime Cupcake and burning CBV same scent. In the bedroom it's TBG Winter Apothecary.

jedda, hope your allergies clear up soon! It's no fun to be stuffed up and sneezy. Honeybear, hope your headaches go away! Laurie, best wishes for Bear. I'm melting CBV Sharin' a Sleeping Bag. This one is nicer than I expected. Once in a while I need an earthy or flowery break from all the fruity. Re: reach and grab, I have a different system. At any one time I probably have about 20-30 tarts setting out on little shelves waiting to be melted. They're all kind of "on deck." Whenever I need a new scent, I look at those first. Sometimes I go rummaging around in my main stash for a particular thing, but usually I just choose from what's out. Those are selected mostly for age, but also if there's something wrong with the container/label, or if I just feel like it. It's very scientific.

Yep, it's piano. It's nice to play in church again because people are so supportive and appreciative, among other reasons. This afternoon I am going roller skating with a friend. Should be fun times! For now I am melting Candle Dippers - Lemon Tart. AND I am very excited to have won Week 1 of the March Madness contest! Yippee! The CF games are so much fun, thanks again Cyn!

Hi all. Yeah Jules, it's tomorrow. Of COURSE I would end up picking the "spring forward" week to play at both church services, late (our usual) AND early... I'm melting Nene's Sweet Snow Cake in the living room. Really enjoying this one, even though it's not really a run-you-out-of-the-house type. In the bedroom it's LOL Tahitian Waterfall/s. Thank you all for the nice messages of support about the job. It's been stressful to try to re-evaluate, but that's what DH and I are doing. We have some fun stuff planned for this weekend, though. Hopefully that'll help me feel better.

Today I'm melting GG Fierce!, which is one of those "Honey I whatever whatever" dupes. I never really got why people went so crazy over that scent. It's just not a big deal to me, I don't really like it very much. Spotted Hog came today. Have y'all seen enough of that loot in the p0rn section, or does anybody want me to post it? It's not whippets or anything fancy, just the usual. If anyone wants to see it, just holler and I'll post some pics, otherwise I'll leave it alone. (can anyone tell I'm in an apathetic mood today?)

Honeybear, the one grape scent I HAVE tried is a grape bubblegum scent - CYS Princess Frostine. I'm melting LSC Berry Bliss and burning YC Lemon Lavender in the kitchen. I keep meaning to do some bedroom melting but often don't make it all the way in there during the day. As it turns out, I didn't get that job. Actually they decided to redo the entire search and ask for qualifications I don't have. So at least it wasn't anything I could have controlled. I do have some ideas for other things I can pursue, so onward and upward! Thanks again for being such great supporters and melting fruity scents for me! In other news, DH noticed a job opening in his field in Buffalo, NY. That just happens to be 20 minutes away from a real Pure Integrity store (***cue angels singing***) AND it's also the location of a special Siberian cattery that not only breeds "hypoallergenic" Siberians but actually measures the amount of allergen in the breeding adults. Most places do not do this as far as I am aware. So if I were ever able to have a Siberian, it would be through this exact place.

Debra, sorry about your bad luck with the mail! Laurie, your wild orchid vanilla scent sounds really good. I don't think I caught the vendor's name...did you know where it was from? Maybe I just missed it. Stella, if I ever order from Butterfly Lane, I'll be trying Purple Marshmallows for sure! Strangely enough, I have not tried many grape scents. I'm melting LOL Pink Sugar Buttercream. This is a nice one. Now that my emergency tart box is empty, I'm working on the next batch: April/May 2009. This stash is already nicely whittled down, except it includes what was originally a 12-pack of one scent. I still have about half of them left, and since I like variety, I will be slow to use them up. (Plus my much newer TBG clams need to be used up by July.) I am very liberal about choosing scents "out of order" pretty often, it's just nice to know which group is officially the oldest, so I can keep them in mind. Some of them must be feeling neglected by now!

Wow...before that "dead in the oven" comment, I was going to make a joke about programming Candlefind to say "kittens" in place of "crickets," "cute" in place of "creepy," etc. Wouldn't that make this thread so much nicer to read? Example:

Gail, I hope Bruce is recovering well! That's such a cute name for a dog. Aria, glad you're good and healthy! I'm SO TOTALLY with you all in the bug hate. I hate bugs more than pretty much anything else. Not too long ago I remarked that we hadn't seen one in our apartment in a while, and wouldn't you know it, that night I saw a big, fast, beetle-y thing in the bathroom and SHRIEKED. Luckily DH is my hero and kills all my bugs for me without complaint, even in the middle of the night!! What a wonderful man he is. Today I'm melting CCCC Caribbean. This smells like coconut and pineapple. Yum. More importantly, this is the LAST TART from my "emergency - old age" box that I've been working on for the past month. So unless I've missed any renegade outliers, this means that all the tarts from 2008 AND all the tarts of unknown age (due to swapping) have been melted. I've been working on the 2009 ones out of order off and on, but now I can go full steam with those. Onward!

Katz, I've seen all of Season 1 of My Cat From Hell. It is a very informative show, and I always find it enlightening to see how it's usually the humans that are somehow inadvertently causing or contributing to the "bad" behavior on the part of the cat. mpfand, that sounds like a not-so-fun day. Hope you get to relax once you get your errands done! I'm melting SH Pink Lime. This one is awesome, but as far as Spotted Hog scents go, it gets relegated to the role of Paradise's ugly stepsister. Y'all should try it sometime. It's refreshing, well-blended, and strong.

Honeybear, there's no place like home! Jules, those of us who are dual wax + B&B people, we gotta watch out for stuff like that, huh? Too bad the soap probably didn't "clean" your melter. Michele, I'm so sorry about the theft. (The only time I have ever been stolen from was one day in grad school when someone stole my homemade, unusual-item lunch out of the fridge. That was bad enough, I can only imagine losing something valuable.) I'm melting SH Iced Cinnamon Rolls and CYS Blood Orange Pineapple Buttercream, which is fabulous. Maybe it's just me, but every time I melt a pineapple scent, I wind up wondering why I don't order/melt pineapple more often. It's so tasty, refreshing, and a nice fruity alternative to some more common scents. Gotta remember to load up on Dole Whip next time I order from LOL.

Today's main scent is TBG Santa's Spruce, with a small chunk of a YC Silver Bells votive thrown in. In the bedroom it's LSC Satin Sheets. Maybe this is really obvious, but I feel like the Satin Sheets is an especially good bedroom scent.

I'm melting LOL OMG Sugar Cookie. Thanks for the suggestion, Sweet. I have visited a Siberian breeder before, but it was a little hard to gauge my reaction because I think she had some non-Siberians living in her house as well. I think that breed is supposed to have "less" of the offending protein, which for some people might still unfortunately be too much. Maybe someday when I can afford it, I'll check them out again.

Happy Saturday, everybody! Boogie, I hope your dog feels better soon! A kidney stone in a pet sounds awful. I felt like melting an aquatic scent today (even for ME, there is such a thing as too much fruit) and had DH choose from a variety of LSC ones (Hollanburst, etc) and Nene's. He selected Nene's Tranquil Seas. I'll probably burn a candle with this -- CBV Neptune's Oasis and/or YC Sandcastle Swirl. (Jar candle update: I only have 5 total now. Working to use up the stash completely!) edited to add: Maggie, how is the Nene's Arctic Air? I went to her site and read the description. Sounds like it could be a good one.

Today I'm melting Nene's Lemon Poppyseed Muffin and SH Sweet Tarts. Both have been good but not reorders.
