  1. Haha Jules...if only it could be Friday again! Aria, I knew when you mentioned the spiky things that they would be plastic forks. That was the thing to do when I was in high school. My lawn got it a few times, but it's easier to clean up than TP. Not very good for the environment, though. I'm melting CYS Gypsy Nights.
  2. Well, DH came home from work yesterday and promptly fell asleep for hours and then woke up complaining of a sore throat, so we didn't make it out to watch them. I really, really wish people could buy individual programs on TV instead of having to buy an entire cable bundle. For events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics, I would happily pay, but it's not worth it to subscribe to cable just for that. I'm melting LSC -- whatever the grapefruit one is.
  3. Aria, good luck with Ozzy! Jules, band camp sounds fun, hope DS stays cool. I'm melting Can-Do Cafe Brulot Cookies and hoping to make toffee cookies later today. It seems I fell in love with them at Panera right before they temporarily quit offering that flavor. Thankfully it should be coming back sometime. DH and I have recently been watching Downton Abbey Season 2 on Amazon Prime. We love it. (Him included! No spoilers please!!! ) Is anyone watching the opening ceremonies tonight? DH and I don't have cable, so we have to decide if we're going to seek out a place in town to watch, or if we'll skip it.
  4. Hi, candle friends! I'm back from my trip. It was so good to see my kitty Dakota and everybody else. Yesterday I melted SH Honeydew Lemonade and today it's Day Spa from a buddy. (Thanks!)
  5. YES!!! We are having the best time together!!
  6. I'll be on a posting hiatus for a while...I'm on a trip to visit family and some high school friends. I'll be back and melting again next week! Have a great weekend everyone!
  7. I had a traumatic morning today...when I turned on the ceiling fan in my dining room, a giant, ugly black cricket suddenly fell to the dining table!!!! I was all alone (Bug-Killing Hero DH had just left for work) and had to kill it all by myself. Now I can't help but feel paranoid at the prospect of seeing any more bugs today. The laundry room in our apartment complex is home to a bunch of dead bugs, and I have to do a bunch of laundry today, which adds to the unpleasantness. Now that my rant is over, I'm melting BL Lemon Biscotti. This one is really nice.
  8. As for me, today it's another SH Pink Lime. Just have two left after this.
  9. Last night I started LSC Scarlet Moon and there's plenty scent left for today. Happy Friday all!
  10. Oh, it's just the "old-fashioned" oats you'd get in a cardboard canister at the grocery store, like Quaker. There are other kinds of oats like "steel-cut," so rolled is just a way of saying normal oatmeal. Just not the quick-cooking or instant kind. The awesome thing is that you don't have to cook them at all (yay!), just put them in the fridge overnight and by morning, they soak up moisture from the dairy. It's about 1/4 cup oats, 1/3 cup milk, 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, plus whatever fruit-type stuff you want to add. Then when you're about to eat it, my big tip is to add a tiny bit of honey so it doesn't taste too tangy from the yogurt -- but you don't need much honey to make it taste good. Here are the recipes I've been using: Original 6 flavor combination recipes.....plus 8 more flavors that were added later P.S. trep, looks like I cross-posted with you -- yep, you're right!
  11. Hi all! I'm melting LB Fruit Loop Marshmallows today. It's a fine one, right up my alley. DH and I have really been enjoying "overnight oats" lately -- where you mix together some yogurt, milk, rolled oats, and fruit, put it in the fridge overnight, and eat it cold the next morning! A delightful and wholesome summer breakfast. Has anyone else ever tried this?
  12. Today it's CYS Raspberry Violet Sugar.
  13. I felt like a bakery scent today, so it's Nene's Snickers Coffee.
  14. Melting LSC Grapefruit Mangosteen today. A great summer scent!
  15. Michele, I'm thinking of you and your family this weekend. We're all so sorry for your loss. I'm melting CYS Monet's Garden today. Tonight DH and I are going to hang out with some friends and have a chocolate tasting, which we planned BEFORE I heard that apparently it's National Chocolate Day today? Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone needs an excuse...
  16. Hi everybody. CYS Lemon Buttercream Sables today. This one is really nice!
  17. LSC Tuscan Herb here today. This is a nice change of pace from my fruity scents, but still one that isn't too flowery.
  18. Yes, I've tried Mojito! Gotta love those citrusy ones! Awesome, glad I could help! I feel overwhelmed if I try to choose from my entire stash every time. It's much easier and more convenient to pull out 2-3 weeks' worth of scents at a time and then select from that. The mailing box thing can give you a good goal to work toward! I could use a prettier box myself. I briefly debated melting LOL Da Bomb Poppz today but went with LB Creamy Candy instead. Happy 4th everyone!
  19. It's been a Spotted Hog couple of days recently -- yesterday was Paradise and today is Orange Chiffon Cake.
  20. Hi everybody. I'm melting something bakery/brown sugar-y from CYS. Got a hankering for something lemony though, so that'll probably be next. I'm very fortunate to not be tempted much by placing wax orders these days, and it is fun just working through the stash at my own pace. There's plenty for me to go through!
  21. Nice title, candlelove! I'm melting SH Blue Hawaiian. A little coconutty for me, but it's ok.
  22. Gearing up for a very, very hot weekend. Melting CYS Poolside Pink. I also went through my mini-stash of "on deck" fruity tarts and replenished the selection using tarts from my much larger main storage spot. It will feel like I have new scents to choose from, even though I've had them all along.
  23. Decent, I think. No complaints, anyway! Helps to use full-fat everything, I suppose. I have a cousin who lives in Colorado. He is currently staying with family elsewhere but his home is in danger. Earlier this week he posted on Facebook the sweetest/saddest picture of a fireman holding a bandaged fawn in the back of a truck. I'm so glad you're out of the woods, Jules! What a huge relief. Flooding is awful, I know from experience. I'm melting TBG Winter Wonderland and trying to pretend it's winter. None of this flood/fire/storm stuff happens in winter, right? (I'm much more accustomed to blizzards anyway.)
