  1. Hi everyone--thanks to all for your kind words. Dad is doing well, still--we talked with hospice yesterday but he is not quite ready for that and so we are going to hold off on that for now. He is taking it all quite well and so I am trying to be brave for him. DH is home getting things done there and will be back on Sunday. My sister went back home so I was able to melt a Scentsationals Sugar Cookie tart so that makes me feel more normal. Everyone take care and I will try to keep in touch. It is nice to have my candle friends behind me.

  2. Thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts, words and prayers. Yes, this was a terrible blow to all of us but I am trying to stay positive. My parents were older when they married and had my sister and I so I feel we have been blessed to have had him as long as we have. I am most concerned with keeping him as pain free as possible. I will be in touch as I can. Thanks again--it is great to have my candle family behind me. Nancy

  3. Hi everyone--as you know I have been in Iowa this week--unfortunately what should have been a fun time with my dad instead was finding out on Thursday that he has terminal cancer. This has been quite a blow as in all other respects he is doing so much better than before. I am still trying to process it all. My husband and I will be briefly returning home this week to get some things done and then I imagine we will basically be living up here until the end. So I will only be on here sporadically for the foreseeable future.

I did throw a Scentsationals Cupcake tart in at the house before I came over to Dad's and my best friend is coming up to see both of us here in a bit.

Aria--can you describe the Ginger Pumpkin scent? I have been wanting to try it but haven't been able to make up my mind since I can't sniff it. Thanks.

  4. Thanks, everyone about the scent title. I hardly ever can think of anything.

I just got home from our local Wal Mart and they had put out some of the new BH&G fall melts. They brought back quite a few from last year including Country Kettle Corn that was a favorite on here and Ginger Spice Cake, Caramel Pecan, Spiced Pumpkin Pie, Warm Autumn Welcome, Vanilla Sugared Shortbread, Simmering Apple Cider, Warm Cracklin' Campfire and maybe another one or two. They had a bunch of new ones-- a S'mores one that is really chocolatey ( too much so for my taste) and a Mountain Cabin, some with Thanksgiving titles and a Caramel Apple one as well as some other apple/spice scents. There was a cinnamon sugar one also. They are going to have candles in these scents also--at least in some of them but they had the tags on the shelves but none out yet. Also there are some new warmers for fall that are cute and plug ins to match so keep your eyes peeled. At our store, just like last year, these are not with the other candles and melts--they are with the fall pot holders, etc. at least here. So, be sure to wander around your stores as who knows where you might find them. Sorry to take up so much space, but I wanted to give you all a "heads up".

In a bit I am going to put on Ginger Spice Cake for the afternoon. It is still lightly raining here and we are certainly thankful for that.

  5. This afternoon has been Scentsationals Churros and candles of Mulled Cider and Pumpkin Pie. I plan to put a Caramel Apple pillar on later. I got it at Hobby Lobby yesterday. Today I decorated the house for fall so I am declaring it to be Autumn even though it is in the 90's here today. Ha!

Are we going to select a title for September? It is a new month come Saturday.
