  1. Debra, I hope your kitty's visit to the vet today will also go well. [smilie=_smileyfacehugging_] . Our little cat continues to do well. She is eating - not wolfing as she did previously, but eating. That will do. [smilie=th_slider_flirt]

I got up at 3 today, in the car by 4, drove up north, went to my hotel and took a quick shower, nap, and breakfast, and back at work.

Since we had about 2 inches of snow at home in Bethel OH, this morning I melted Zeep's gorgeous Christmas Tree at the hotel.

    Have a good day all,

    AmyJo

  2. Hello dear everyone,

Aria and Maggie, thank you so much for your kitty well-wishes, and you guys really helped me this morning. [smilie=th_cuddle-1] The vet gave our kitty a clean bill of health [smilie=th_smiley_emoticons_hurr so I am ecstatic. She said she thought it was just stress from my being gone on business. Gee whiz the guilt. [smilie=bagover] Anyway I'm glad I drove the three hours home like a madwoman last night when DH said she still wasn't eating much. [smilie=superman] This morning she ate two small cans of pate-type food so I hoped we were on the upswing.

Clementine (the cat) was unimpressed with the cat carrier, the drive, and the vet tech, but she thought the vet was ok. Once we returned home, she ate some more food [smilie=th_c2e41937] and just wanted to cuddle. So life is essentially good. I've had dogs all my life but this is the first cat who has wound me completely around her little paw. [smilie=th_LOVE]

I plan to stay home tonight and then leave early as in 4 AM tomorrow to go back up north. We did get a couple of inches of snow and the roads are melting some now.

So, in honor of Her Furry Highness, I am melting FP Marshmallow Peppermint twist, which is exquisite. I am feeling playful again. [smilie=th_ahaaha]

OK all. There is no love without worry and pain but it is always worth it. Love to all of you! [smilie=thank_you]

    AmyJo

  3. Good morning all,

I am back home for a day and to take our kitty to the vet. Yesterday DH told me she still wasn't eating well and I couldn't take it any more, just packed up and left. I will go back tonight.

So I haven't melted anything, but I did buy some soft pate kind of food and this she has eaten. She is just licking anything with meat in it. I'm wondering if she has a sore tooth.

Maggie, good to see you, thank you for the warm kitty wishes. [smilie=th_sml29]

    Take care all,

    AmyJo

  4. Good morning all,

Our little cat is still eating only a bit, but at least she is eating something. My DH is taking pictures of the food morning and evening so he can see how much is gone. He is a very good man.

Debra, your Maine Coon must be a beauty. I love that you are growing special grass for your kitties. I will get some - I've seen that in the store. Maybe it will perk her up a bit.

    I've been melting:

FP Marshmallow Peppermint Twist - adore, adore. I had this on last night and it was too strong for the hotel room but gorgeous.

Scentsationals Morning Bliss - like a huge grapefruit has moved into the hotel room with me. Wonderful but VERY strong.

    Have a good day all,

    AmyJo

  5. Good morning all,

Happy Monday! I'm set up at the hotel and ready to leave for work.

Thank you all for your good wishes on our little cat. She is eating a bit according to DH and I saw that she was much more lively yesterday. Before I left, I noticed her nibbling on some houseplants and so I closed off that room. Maybe she ate something not agreeable. Debra, I didn't think about them reformulating the food but maybe that's it. They will just worry us to death.

Honeybear, I'm sorry you had to put DD on the plane and I understand how tough it is. [smilie=th_smiley-crying]

Brought two melters with me and last night I was melting:

Zeep's Slice of Paradise (I only took a couple of the curlicues off the gorgeous huge pie she sent!)- pineapple and other fruity scents

    BBW Pineapple Mango

So it was very tropical in here!

    Have a good Monday,

    AmyJo

  6. Good morning all,

Chilly but a bit of a warmup coming and the birds are in good voice this morning. I am ready for spring. [smilie=th_smiley_emoticons_hurr

Well I am thrilled with these FP scents. Last night I switched to Banana Cream Cookies & Cinnamon Graham Cracker and it's scrumptious. If all of her scents are like this, I'm in big trouble because she has a huge list.

Aria - thank you for the FP discount code! I'm going to go through all of the new scents that arrived one by one before I dare to look on her website again. And thanks for the info on the Swan Creek almond variety - almond is one of my most favorite scents/flavors so I will definitely check that one out.

Also very happy with the two Zeep clammie scents I ordered - the Salted Caramel Macchiato took two days to finally dissipate (one cube) and now I've moved on to Lemon Poundcake - completely authentic and drool-worthy. DH is commenting on how hungry all of this is making him. [smilie=th_giggle]

Debra - I've also been on a blueberry campaign. I blame Maggie because she said anything blueberry made her drool. [smilie=th_aa17]

This morning I have a few chores to do and then pack it up to head up north again for the week, ugh. Our little cat isn't eating much and I am a bit worried. Normally she eats like a house afire so this isn't normal. She ate a bit this morning which is an improvement over yesterday. I dreamed about her last night even though she was sleeping in my arms and I woke up all upset. If I didn't think the unfamiliar hotel would upset her more, I would take her with me tonight.

    Take care all,

    AmyJo

  7. [smilie=th_Hello_] and Happy Saturday! I'm HOOOOOOOOME!

Easy drive back yesterday and so good to see DH, the doglets, and the small galloping cat. I have to do the same thing for the next two weeks, home on the weekends. Happily this level of travel is unusual.

Susan - that Maple Festival sounds so wonderful. I've never been to one of those.

Mpfand - I will have to look up that Wonderbery Lime. I love anything lime and that sounds delicious.

Debra - garlic ice cream!! I would try it. I love both but not sure about putting them together...sounds intriguing.

Maggie, sounds like you were truly in a pumpkin mood. I love that scent so I bet your house smelled wonderful.

well, to make the homecoming even sweeter, I had packages from both Zeep and Front Porch waiting for me :upssmiley1: so this was exciting. All sorts of lovely new delectables. At the moment I have on Zeep Orange Sherbet lip balm and this feels and smells very extravagant. :flirtysmile4:

This was my first order from Front Porch and I am totally impressed. I got their Toast and Jam sampler so all sorts of fruity/bakery scents. I also got some other Grubby Tarts and all of the scents are heavenly.

So right now I am melting:

Office/kitchen - FP Blueberry Marshmallow Ice Cream and this is excellent - lovely blueberry, good enough to eat, and nice and strong. [smilie=th_LOVE] I didn't cure this at all and it didn't need it, wonderful.

Back of the house/bathroom - Zeep's Salted Caramel Macchiato and wow, wow, I just love this. Very strong, delicious scent. I didn't cure this either because I've seen it on her website for awhile and figured it wasn't just made - in any case, tons of throw.

So the house smells like a blueberry pie and a gourmet coffee - which is a fine way to start the day.

    Have a great Saturday all!

    AmyJo

  8. Good evening dear all!

Still working up north and going home tomorrow!!! [smilie=th_c2e41937]

I hope everyone is doing well. It's actually warming up a bit here in Ohio. The work has gone well and I am ready to go home.

My melts have helped me to keep from getting too horribly homesick. Last night was the new YC melt cube Apricot Rose, lovely. Right now is my favorite, Zeep's Push Pop (from a clammie).

Aria - I have to say that your Cherry Almond Buttercream has gotten my attention. [smilie=th_yeahthat] I love love love Almond - so I may have to order that one. Is the almond a strong note? [smilie=feedback]

I was thinking of walking somewhere to get dinner but I am just too tired. I have had leftovers from last night's group dinner and two glasses of wine [smilie=th_FULL_O17] and so I should probably call it a night.

I should have a Zeep Order waiting for me at home and possibly Front Porch so that will be exciting!

    Sleep well all, [smilie=th_goodnight]

    AmyJo

  9. Hello dear everyone,

Back at the hotel and it's so cold and windy, brrrrr.

Susan, I am seriously jealous of your 4 inches of snow - if it's going to be cold, snow makes it all worthwhile. And I love that you were melting White Out in honor of the occasion! [smilie=th_Skratta_Bankabordet]

Debra - totally agree - if a vendor doesn't take a little trouble with the presentation of the melts and the packaging, I might not be as eager to buy from them as from someone who does.

Honeybear - oh, I'm with you! - how can we ever cut into that beautiful pie slice melt??

Maggie - that Booberry Mallow Lemon Poundcake sounds so delicious and now I am craving that one.

Michele - I hope you enjoyed your birthday! Also I think selling YC candles on eBay is a great idea because so many people love them.

Aria, I hope you are feeling better, and that Root Beer Ice Cream Bread sounds very tempting!

Right now I am burning the Volcano (Capri Blue) candle which is heavenly, and I have the YC melt cube Home Sweet Home going in the hotel bathroom. Both are strong - I'm about to go get some supper so will turn them both out for now.

    Have a good night!

    AmyJo

  10. Good morning all,

Cold again especially since I am further north. I brought my melter and wax to use at the hotel - so lovely to have my comforting scents with me. I hid the melter when I left for work so the hotel won't scold me. [smilie=th_smiley_doorpeek]

Debra - there is a great YouTube on flying squirrels featuring David Attenborough, not very long and has some beautiful slow-mo of flight.

As to the question about whether Zeep melts need curing, I would say yes. It's not always the case but I think it depends upon how long ago she actually made the melts. Her Mac Apple is so strong that it nearly sends me and DH running for cover, although it is a beautiful scent - I have learned to use only a little. But for many others, it has helped to let them sit for about a month. Oktoberfest, for example, was very mild when I first received it. It's been about a month now and it's much stronger. I just received Boulangerie last week and it's a glorious scent but also very mild - so I will wait a month before melting any more of that. I keep telling myself this because I love her scents so much. [smilie=th_pardon]

OK back to work *crack of whip* [smilie=th_aola]

    Have a good day all,

    AmyJo

EDITED - later in evening - well, here at the hotel I have quite a discovery to share with you all - as you know I was pretty fed up with YC and their lack of scent - then I found those excellent new melt cubes at WallyWorld and had to eat my words - but tonight I fired up a Woodwick votive from the YC store, tiny little thing, in Applewood scent, and OMG it is running me out of the room. :sSc_faint: Powerful, lovely scent and this would fill up the biggest greatroom. It's too much for this hotel room and I will blow it out soon but wow. Someone at Corporate is listening.

    Sleep tight,

    AmyJo

    EDITED AGAIN - :sFun_blahblah:

Debra, you asked if the appearance of the melts matters - to me, a great deal. I am so pleased with Zeep's Party Doll - a wedge of cake with fondant icing and flowers - that even if it smelled like a pile of steaming cow dung, I would have bought it. I greatly enjoy opening packages and seeing the beautiful creations of some of these vendors - Front Porch also has so much creativity in some of the designs and this will certainly influence what I buy.

    Great question,

    I will shut up now,

    AmyJo

  11. Good morning all and Happy Daylight Savings Time in the US!

I woke up at my usual time and am going to pretend that I don't know my phone has reset itself an hour earlier. Ignorance is bliss. [smilie=th_i-m_so_happy]

Yesterday DH and I went out to breakfast and then I worked at the hospital so didn't get home until late, and then I spend the evening cleaning up a craigslist find - kerosene heater for $25. It was pretty dirty but hardly used. Today to change the wick and then give it a try.

Debra and Aria, keeping the squirrels out of the feeder is nigh on to impossible but these flying guys are so completely charming that I don't mind if they eat some suet. [smilie=th_slider_flirt] The lead fellow appears as soon as it's dark, and I can hear him land on the edge of the porch awning. They are a light tan and the tail isn't as bushy as the gray squirrels' - more flat and straight. Huge eyes. I read that there are actually more flying squirrels than gray squirrels in the US, but we don't know that because we don't see them as they are nocturnal. These guys have become pretty tame but if I startle them, they sail out into the night. They glide from tree to tree, just beautiful. We have named the lead fellow Bruce Wayne.

Michele - the dress shopping sounds fabulous and I hope you are having a blast with that.

Honeybear - ooh, ooh, you got your Zeep order!! Was it like Christmas? I've been slathering myself with the whipped soap and lip balm. Do you let her melts cure? I have to fight myself and resist melting everything right away but I notice a big change if I wait about a month. I have a body spray still coming, glad to hear you're enjoying yours. And both you and Mpfand have the Cookie Cakery - how is that one?

For all of you who had snow, ice, and power outages - I'm glad life is returning to normal. That had to be a tough week.

Happy birthday to all the DDs and Michele on Tuesday!

Well today I will be cleaning this house because Large Dog is shedding again, big time. That means big time melting. [smilie=th_aa17] Leaving tonight to go up north for work, 4 days. I love what I do but get horribly homesick. I will be taking major wax along so I can play in the hotel room. [smilie=th_ahaaha]

    Right now it's

Office/kitchen - An Autumn Walk, scoopable wax by Zeep - apple, maple, leaves. Delicious and much stronger than a month ago.

Bathroom - ScentSationals Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream, always a favorite.

I must be in an autumn mood.

Enjoy your Sundays and get some rest,

    AmyJo

  12. Hello all and [smilie=th_bb20]

So tomorrow night is Daylight Savings Time already in the US and it seems really soon for that. [smilie=th_cha60] It will be darker in the morning but at least every day there are more minutes of daylight now. It will all even out.

Michele, I'm sorry you've had all that ice and downed trees. I know it's Nature's way of thinning and pruning but I still hate to see a tree come down.

Susan, I love Limoncello, bet that smells wonderful.

Aria, I hope you're feeling better. Your bird feeders sound fabulous. I have two suet feeders and they draw many woodpeckers, nuthatches, and of course the flying squirrels by night. [smilie=superman]

Honeybear, the icon you chose completely shows how I am feeling about all these new Zeep scents! How do you like that Sideburn you got for your DH (very sweet of you, btw)? I'm really enjoying the Boulangerie. Ashley sent a sample of Wonderland and to me this smells like Volcano (the Anthropologie scent), extremely strong. I haven't brought myself to cut into some of the cuter shapes yet. Did you get your B&B box yesterday? Details please!!

Debra, you made me laugh about your cat walking on your keyboard. Our cat sleeps with us but she is not allowed by my desk - for the same reason.

Well folks, enjoy your Friday. This morning I'm still melting Boulangerie from Zeep because it smells like almonds and this is one of my favorite scents of all. [smilie=th_LOVE]

    AmyJo

  13. Good morning all,

So cold and more light snow. I am sitting here with my hot water bottle in my lap. Sometimes the old ways are best. [smilie=th_sml29]

Debra, you will just have to come to Bethel, Ohio because this Walmart has a good selection. Those little YC melt cubes are in oblong six-packs in a brand-new display. I didn't see any of them in the YC store so I wonder if they're trying it out at Walmart first?? Does anybody know?

Mpfand - that Orange and Cedarwood sounds fabulous! I haven't seen that one but will keep an eye out.

Well, I may have mentioned *cough* that I had three Zeep orders and she combined them all and they arrived yesterday. It was like Christmas, melts and B&B. I have been melting the Boulangerie (bakery/almond)and bathing with the Push Pop Whipped Soap and basically drowning in luxury. [smilie=cloud_9]

Still waiting on the Front Porch delivery. I have enough to keep my habit satisfied for quite awhile!

    Have a good day all,

    AmyJo

  14. Michele - we are in Bethel, Ohio which is about 35 miles southeast of Cincinnati, so about 2 hours from Columbus. The weather can be quite different from there to here!

That's a great question about the scents bleeding into one another - this house is not open concept so the scents tend to stay in their own rooms unless they are some of the strongest ones. I try to choose complementary scents that don't fight against each other, LOL. [smilie=th_biqazm1]

    AmyJo

  15. Good morning all,

Snow, snow, snow!! [smilie=th_autumboy] It's just gorgeous, a complete covering. It's pretty wet so I suspect it will melt...but a lovely way to wake up.

Michele - [smilie=th_f0424ea25f87db180cc7d to your DD and I'm sorry I missed that.

This morning all I'm melting is YC Black Cherry in their new little cube melts that I found at Walmart. I must say I'm impressed - lovely throw.

Our home is small and I've been using too many melters at a time - it's overpowering - so now I'm just going to try using one at a time throughout the day. I usually work from home - so lucky in this regard - so I can set up some kind of rotation.

    Have a good day all,

    AmyJo

  16. Good morning everyone,

A beautiful morning and a bit warmer, which is lovely because tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. [smilie=th_pardon]

Maggie, a very Happy Birthday to your twins! [smilie=th_8d1933ff]

Debra, like Maggie I have started storing my wax mostly by vendor. I'm using an old CD tower with doors that has lots of cubbies in it. Some vendors get more than one cubby. There are a few very strong melts that get their own cubby in an effort not to bleed into the others. I'm not sure how well this is working yet.

This morning I have four melters going, which is a lot in this small house. [smilie=th_giggle]

Kitchen/office - combo of ScSa Sugar Cookies and Zeep's American Mint

    Our bedroom - ScSa Cupcake

    Bathroom - BBW Limoncello

Back bedroom - YC Apricot Rose (new style melts, very fragrant and I love this scent. Much more throw than the tarts!)

    Enjoy your Tuesday,

    AmyJo

  17. Honeybear - oh, you got that huge Paradise slice from Zeep!! I just got a small sample (one of the little curlicues on top of the pie you got) and it already has me wanting more!

Michele - I got an email back from Julie at SGA and she said that IHOP sold out quickly at her last restock - but she will have it again on her restock on March 17. I put an alert on my phone. Thank you (and Maggie and Aria)for being such good enablers! [smilie=th_allah]

Susan - I love that Violet Sugar, don't you?

Aria - thanks a lot for the info on FP's TAT. I will stop tapping my foot waiting for it to get here!

I must say that this is the most enjoyable forum going - life can be stressful and this hobby of ours is even better when shared. [smilie=th_aa18]

    AmyJo

  18. Good morning all!

Well, a stiff cold breeze blowing this morning, and the Pyr loves to stand and stare into the night...I encouraged him to wrap up his business and bring me back inside.

Michele - your evening with Lion King sounds phenomenal. I envy your backstage pass and yes, that was an excellent, thoughtful Christmas present from your DD!!

Debra - ok, with all this Fabuloso talk, I decided to give the dupe another try (ScSa Lavender and Rosemary). I asked myself, why did you like Fabuloso for cleaning in the first place - because of the lovely lavender scent - now get your head out of the bucket and just consider the lovely notes for themselves. And it worked! [smilie=thank_you]

Aria, Maggie, Michele - all right, tell me, who makes IHOP and where can I find this?? *inquiring minds want to know*

Well yesterday I was craving some whipped soap and so I hit B&BW and the damage was manageable. They have a new coffee-scented exfoliant scrub which smells so divine I have no words. And of course they are right next to YC and my sister wanted some votives and vent clips, but I got out of there for only $10. I got the vent clip of Flowers in the Sunshine and it's lovely. I'm focusing on their good points...

    So this morning it's:

    Kitchen/Office: B&BW Vanilla Marshmallow (heavenly)

Bathroom: Zeep Slice of Paradise (pineapple and coconut...drooling.) [smilie=th_WE1summer013]

Have a good start to the week!

    AmyJo

  19. Good morning all,

Beautiful sunshine but brrrrr, 28 F and back with the long undershirts again. But this blue sky is very heartwarming.

Michele - how was the show? Details please!

Honeybear - did your Zeep order come in?

Debra - wow, a real Fabuloso scent! Do you think it's accurate?

Maggie - from Front Porch, I ordered what I think was called their Toast and Jam Sampler. I wanted to try a small assortment. It isn't here yet. *tapping foot impatiently*

Lonegirl - totally agree with you, scent helps keep me peaceful and delighted.[smilie=cloud_9] The only thing I have any guilt about here is the hit on the pocketbook. Sometimes I get carried away. And have no fear...last I checked, I had a few other vices going on...

This morning it's BBW Kiwi and Passionfruit. Nice and tart and citrusy. I haven't decided on the other room yet.

    Enjoy your Sunday,

    AmyJo

  20. Hello all,

Maggie and Michele - I'm really glad your daughters and DH are all safe because that is one wallop of a storm. Here the Ohio river is finally going down, but the cleanup has just begun...folks with all their belongings out on the lawn, trying to dry....it's pitiful. Happily people are safe.

And yes - Maggie - three orders - :icon_redface: - what was I to do, Ashley kept sending samples of new things and they were all lovely and this is my one big vice and [smilie=bagover]

Today was hospital day so tonight I intend to kick back.

In the kitchen: it's a homemade combo of ScSa Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream and Zeep's American Mint.

In our bedroom: Zeep's Lavender Coconut Milk.

I do actually have an order coming from Front Porch so I can gradually come out of my Zeep obsession...

Enjoy your Saturday nights all!! Stay safe!

  21. Honeybear - I think you were brilliant to order the Spring Zeep Sampler - that has quite a few items and great for the price, as well! I hope it comes today for you - please report in if it does!

I just received one of three pending Zeep orders :upssmiley1: and am comatose on the floor, this stuff smells so good - three different clammies and she threw in a sample of "Slice of Paradise" which has a pineapple zing to it...I see an evening of melting ahead...

    Enjoy all,

    AmyJo

  22. Good morning all! [smilie=th_autumboy]

Cold again today but a beautiful full moon earlier when I took Himself outside. Our Pyrenees is happiest with temperatures right around freezing, and if he is happy, I am happy.

Honeybear, that Mallowdrama Sugar Whip was my second choice...I love anything marshmallow. I think I got the lip balm of that kind. It was difficult to choose. [smilie=th_confused3]

Maggie, love those early American names but sorry they came broken. I'm happy you'll get to see your girls soon. For both them and Michele's DH - I hope the weather doesn't mess up their travels.

This morning it's Zeep's Oktoberfest near my desk...good enough to eat, love the blueberry coming through.

Our bedroom - BBW Kiwi Passionfruit

Back bedroom - YC tart Flowers in the Sunshine. Very little cold smell so I'm curious what it will be.

    Enjoy your Friday!

    AmyJo

  23. Good morning all and happy March!

Candlelove, great title! March seems to have come in like a lamb, albeit a soggy one, here in Ohio, and we all know what that means.... [smilie=th_fear8]

Debra, I love Fabuloso too - on my floors, lovely - but in a melt, not so much for me. I feel like I should be scrubbing. It's similar to an issue I had with a melt that smelled like my toothpaste...it puts me into a personal hygiene context. [smilie=th_pardon]

Maggie, the scent-speriment went beautifully, much to my surprise - the combination of the pumpkin/marshmallow cube with the mint cube very closely approximates Zeep's Grinch Cookies. I'm so relieved because I was having severe withdrawals. :sHa_woot:

    Today's scents:

Kitchen/Office - Zeep's Mac Apple - very strong, beautiful, a big juicy fruit. (Edited, later - this is the strongest melt I own. Despite a lovely smell, wow it nearly killed us all. I finally had to turn it off.)

Back of the house in bathroom - YC votive, Cherries on Snow. I don't know if they're making this anymore but I can't find it on their website and I looooooooove this scent. Found a three-pack on Amazon from a third-party vendor. Not much throw but gorgeous scent. (Edited later - opposite problem from the other - no scent to this candle. I finally blew it out and melted it, much better, but too many of the YC candles are like this.)

    Have a fine day,

    AmyJo

  24. Greetings all!

Chilly here in Ohio but the flood waters have started to recede, which is a great thing.

Maggie, thank you for the Zeep B&B reco - that tipped it for me and I ordered a Push Pop Body Butter Sugar Scrub which sounds luxurious, also a lip balm and the Party Doll melts (too pretty to melt but I will manage).

Honeybear, I envy you the Arizona warmth - our son went out there with me on a business trip a long time ago and we saw the Hale-Bopp comet over the desert sky by night. I will never forget that.

Debra, we also struggle with the litter box despite only one tiny cat, but she has the stinkiest "deposits" going...I clean that thing constantly but it's a constant battle.

So today I am melting an "experiment" - trying to re-create Zeep's Grinch Cookies, which she is out of [smilie=th_smiley-crying] It's a cookie and peppermint combination. So - I have a ScentSations Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream cube mixed with a Zeep American Mint cube and we'll see what happens. Right now my nose is just confused by it all.

I was melting a BH&G Lavender and Rosemary cube in the kitchen/office but shoot, it smells just like that Fabuloso cleaning solution. [smilie=th_yellow5] I really liked it cold...oh well.

So instead I have a BH&G Cranberry Mandarin huge candle in the CrockPot to melt. Craving citrus. [smilie=th_i-m_so_happy]

    Enjoy your day all,

    AmyJo
