  1. I'm starting the day with a remelt of Haley's Apple Jack and Peel and it smells LOVELY! Fresh and crisp, and warm and cozy all at the same time. We're going on 15 hours with this one, so it's starting to get a bit weak. Not sure how much longer it'll last.

Later, I'll swap it for something bright and tropical... I've got a bunch of YC Fruit Salad (found 'em yesterday, hidden away from last summer!) so I might go with that.

  2. Tonight it's a Slatkin Pineapple Mango candle in the bathroom, and Haley's Country Breeze is melting in the bedroom.

In the livingroom I have a Marshmallow Fluff candle from Dollar General (of all places!) The scent is delish, but the throw isn't stellar. For $1, I'm not shocked. It's a small jar, about the size of a large votive, and I can really only smell it within a 4 foot radius.

  3. I've owned a convertible. It was an big old baby blue Buick Skylark that made me feel like I was Thelma or Louise. sniff sniff I miss that car.

    ...but I've never...

    hired a housekeeper

    been to Iowa or Missouri

    drank Redbull

I've been to both Iowa and Missouri, many times.

And I drank more than my fair share of Redbull during those early-mommy days. [smilie=th_oregonian_mornincoffe

I've worked as a housekeeper (during college) and I had to hire additional staff when the hotel got busy in the summer... does that count? I've never hired anyone to clean my own house...

    I've never:

    eaten mussels without gagging

    worn green nailpolish

hired a housekeeper of my own

  4. I love them, too! The Warm Apple Pie is scrumptious! Just be sure you get the 3 wick ones!

I agree - I thought that the $5 jar candles were a better deal, but they just weren't. Sure, they were larger, but the throw was weaker, and they tunneled. I had to babysit them quite a bit, and ultimately used them on a warmer plate. I can't be bothered to fuss with smooshing wax around, constantly fixing the wick, etc.

I love the three wick ones though. They are a dream to burn. [smilie=th_slider_flirt]

  5. Hi Jedda, I don't remember seeing Beach Plum, did you just get that at the Palooza sale or did you mix it up yourself?

I found the YC tarts to be hit and miss (like most other vendors), some last long, and some are over too soon.

Anyone know how long the Palooza sale is going on?

Beach plum is an older scent that was discontinued. They have brought it back in jars and tarts. The manager at our local YC store said that they are doing this with a few disc scents at a time.

I picked it up at the sale, but they have it online too.

  6. This morning I've mixed the remnants of yesterdays YC melts into one burner - YC Country Lemonade and YC Vanilla Cupcake. Smells like a lemon poundcake. The Country Lemonade is still very strong, and I'd buy it again. The Vanilla Cupcake died down after a few hours, and it is really just a faint sweetness to round out the lemon tartness. On its own I can only smell it right near the burner. I don't think I'd buy this again. Lots of e-tailers sell better vanilla bakery scents...

[smilie=th_lavarepiatti] In the kitchen I'm melting YC Beach Plum. Trying to decide if I need more of this one. It is really hard to describe. I think I like it.

LOL Jedda on the Frankenstein mix!

When you hit up the sale (if you're going in the store) be sure and grab some of the Mixology Recipe cards, they look pretty interesting!

    [smilie=yes]

I'm absolutely going to the store (need to exchange some stuff at BBW, so I'll be at the mall anyway.) I need to sniff before buying.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look for the cards. I'm always mixing up my tarts - I'd love some new ideas. [smilie=th_E_JUMP16667]
