First impression of Denim & Lace:
Let’s start off with the scent description:
A blend of clean and calming florals combine with nuzzly musk, soft denim, and a delicate lace accord to evoke the comfort of your favorite spring outfit of the day.
When I first popped off the lid to smell the wax… a very fresh and different type of floral wafted all around my nose. It wasn’t a solid flowery scent which I was thankful for. After melting Soft Peony yesterday, I needed something a little on the lighter side and definitely less flowery. Smelling the wax, the overall scent kind of reminded me of a fabric softener and I’m wondering if that’s the denim part in the description? It smelled fresh and sweet all at once. I liked it just based off cold sniff.
Melting:
I used the entire clamshell pack in 2 electric melters in my great room. Once melting, it took just a few minutes before the fragrance was wafting all through my living room and once it did, the aroma smelled exactly as it did cold… a sweet and fresh floral. What a pretty scent this was. The floral notes were strong but blended with the denim (fabric softener) really tapered it down creating a refreshing and unique scent. After hours of melting, I’m sticking to my original assessment… this scent smelled like a really pretty and sweet fabric softener. It’s the best way I can think of to describe it.
Strength – I would rate these melts a 10 out of 10 in a large room so this scent is definitely a room filler. That rating is for Colonial’s simmer snaps only. My guess is the candles will be a lot lighter.
In closing, I really enjoyed Denim & lace and think this is a scent you really need to experience yourself to fully appreciate it, especially if you love fresh and girly scents.
Happy melting!
