What did my candle smell like?
I was shuffling candles around in my candle cupboard when I spied a few Christmas scents from Shortie’s Candles I totally forgot I had. Do you ever do that… forget candles you’ve purchased? I’m classic for that. And then when you find something, it’s like Christmas morning all over again.
When I first smelled Christmas Eve, I was a little confused… it smelled like a sweet bakery scent, no spice or even Christmas’y at all… and then I read the scent description:
“Enjoy this sugary Christmas Eve surrounded by the wonder of shiny wrapped presents and beautiful bows, with the smell of freshly cooked sugar cookies still in the air while they are being eaten by the decorated pine tree.”
Mmm!! First impression smelling the wax… it indeed smelled like sweet sugar cookies. The scent was pretty light from just smelling the wax so I’m hoping the fragrance comes alive once burning. Time to find out!!
I decided to light this candle in a small bathroom to start out and ended up leaving it there from start to finish. I wanted room saturation and figured the smaller the room, the better. Once lit, it took a good 20 minutes to really start noticing the fragrance and what a unique fragrance it was! The aroma… sweet sugar cookies with something else I couldn’t quite pinpoint… I thought I was imagining it till I decided to read the description again and noticed the end…. “decorated pine tree” – that’s what I was smelling mingled with the cookie scent…. Christmas tree! Sugar Cookies and pine tree. How different!!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 6 in a small room… much lighter in a larger room. This candle was pretty lightly scented for me.
My candle burned perfect. Zero issues. Clean burning with no soot from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
What an interesting fragrance this turned out to me. I liked it. Sugar cookies and pine tree…. Who would have ever thought to put those two scents together? Shortie’s did and it was pretty neat. I really enjoyed it. The only down side… the strength. This candle was lightly scented for me so keep that in mind should you give this fragrance a try.
Happy candle hunting!

I really like this candle. I purchase candles from Shorties all the time. It is very different but in a good way.
