Intro To My Wax Melt Review

It’s no secret I dread my Walmart shopping trips. The wax melt aisle full of ScentSationals makes the whole trip a little more bearable. A lot more bearable. It was on one of those bearable, dreaded trips that I stumbled across Cactus Garden. This is not a scent I would ScentSationals Cactus Garden Wax Meltnormally be drawn to, but the packaging was  the hook. I thought it might be fresh and green – something I needed as this blazing hot summer is coming to a close.

First Impressions of My Wax Melt Review

I loved the pretty, deep green coloring of this wax melt. It made me think I was on the right track with the whole fresh, green idea. Here’s the scent description:

Cactus Garden Scented Wax Melt features sparkling fresh top notes of misted citrus blended with a lush, herbal, fruity aloe accord wrapped in a warm body of wood with amber and spice.

From Walmart’s Website

This scent is no longer available on the ScentSationals’ website, so I’m not sure if this is the official scent description or not. But I can say – I wasn’t getting any warm wood, amber or spice with this scent on cold sniff. Nope. I was smelling the herbal, green goodness with a little bit of some perfumey notes. I liked it!

How Did My Wax Melt Perform?

I went with my 20W hotplate melter for this one and used 2 cubes. I didn’t have to wait long before I could start smelling the clean, green notes. It was very spa-like!

As it continued to melt, I could get some of those perfumey notes back. I wasn’t getting any citrus and I certainly didn’t get any warmth from this scent – the wood, amber, spice…nope. Nada. Still, it was a scent I really liked!

I used this scent in my large, open living area and it did a pretty good job of scenting that space. The scent itself was on the milder side – which is just what I would expect and want for my spa day.

This didn’t last as long as I would like. I got a good half-day out of it, but then it seemed to sputter across the finish line. Ah well…it was good while it lasted.

Closing To My Wax Melt Review

Overall, I found this a really good scent. It is not one that’s going to blow the doors off. For me, I liked it. This is one of those scents that is not going to score very high on our rating scale, but it was still enjoyable. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, this one might not be a bad one to throw in the melter first.
