I don’t know about you but I am all about receiving and giving candles on Mother’s Day. It’s THE perfect gift for many reasons. It’s thoughtful, scentful (lol) and fairly inexpensive. You can purchase pretty much any candle you want but candle companies do offer Mother’s Day themed candles that can be fun. I’m late getting this post together so I’m going to list candles you can readily purchase on the fly at some local stores.
Yankee Candles
You may love Yankee Candles… you may despise them, but you must admit, these candles are readily available at a multitude of stores. You can go to a Yankee store at the mall, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond or a slew of other retailers that carry this brand. What scent you choose depends on Mom but I would go for something sweet or even a subtle floral. If you can get to a store, I think they can even customize the label like the picture shows above.
Pink Champagne – Pier 1 Imports
Whether you’re shopping for Mom, wife, sister, friend… Pier 1 is always a great store to purchase candles from. They usually have themed candles and now offer 3 wick candles very similar to Bath & Body Works worth checking out. If I had to choose a candle for Mother’s Day… I would pick Pink Champagne. This scent is a perfect balance of floral and fruity and smells so good!! Plus, look how pretty it is.
Best Mom Ever – Bath & Body Works
Best Mom Ever is the scent Pistachio Ice Cream and let me tell you, this candle smells 100% yum!! I wouldn’t mind receiving this candle myself. But even if your Mom isn’t into bakery scents, Bath & Body Works has a ton of candles to choose from in a huge variety of fragrances. You have all week to shop so head to a Bath & Body Works store when you have some time.
Better Homes & Gardens – Walmart
Okay, scented melts aren’t exactly candles but pretty darn close. Giving that special Mom in your life a wax melter and some scented melts to go with it. It makes for one heck of a cool Mother’s Day gift. Trust me. Walmart has a huge selection of wax melters from Better Homes & Garden or from ScentSational’s. Scented melts are a great way to fragrance your house with lots of scent and no flame to mess with. I am a huge fan of scented melts and I’ve given this as a gift countless times.

Give Mom a Diffuser – Nordstrom’s
If you live close to a Mall, hit Nordstrom’s and check out the variety of luxury electric diffusers they sell. Price range varies but they do offer affordable ones and they make a really cool gift, especially for Mother’s Day. Serene House is a brand I’ve had my eye on for awhile. I’ve hinted to my honey and kids I want one.
Chesapeake Bay Candles – Target
There is a huge variety of Chesapeake Bay Candles to choose from at Target but I chose White Citron for a cool Mother’s Day gift because… look at it! It’s gorgeous and priced right. White Citron is described as: Sparkling mandarin and lemon leaves grow into a floral bouquet or rose, orange blossom and iris balanced with oakmoss and white sandalwood to create a clean and tranquil scent.
Sounds pretty perfect!
And that ladies and gentlemen gives you some ideas on what to get your special someone for Mother’s Day. Give them a candle. Or a wax melter with scented melts. Or if your Mom prefers the natural approach to scenting, purchase a diffuser which will fragrance a room quite nicely releasing mist into the air. I would be happy with any of the above.
