Winter Pine Bijou Luxury Candle Review

Fragrance: Winter Pine
Scent Strength: Medium
First impression of Winter Pine from Bijou:
I was so excited to receive two new fragrances from Bijou, a luxury brand I am really beginning to adore. What perfect timing too now that it’s starting to get cold outside. That’s when I like to break out all my warm and comforting scents. These types of fragrances just feel so cozy and a perfect prelude to crisp fall weather.
Up first, Winter Pine. I couldn’t resist burning this fragrance first. Up close, the wax smelled like a freshly cut Christmas tree but before I start digging into this the fragrance itself, let me first tell you a little bit about the candle. – – – Now that I have one of Bijou’s beautiful vessels I saved from my last order, I can now simply order their refills. It’s such an economical way to order from this company. You basically purchase a complete candle the first time you order. Burn it, then clean out and save the vessel. After that, you can purchase their refills at a fraction of the cost. It’s that easy. You just pop it right into the vessel till it fits snugly and that’s it. Light the wicks and you’re good to go. Bijou is so thorough, they even send you little brochures with your order explaining how to clean out your candle to re-purpose when you’re finished. Their refills are just as pleasurable to receive as they’re all wrapped in the prettiest peacock decorative paper. Winter Pine was wrapped in white, red and green peacock paper with the beautiful Bijou seal in the center. See picture above for visual reference.
Okay, onto my candle! Here is the scent description for Winter Pine:
Step into a snow-covered evergreen forest with majestic blue pine and fir blossom. Notes of cedarwood, ylang and winterberry add that perfect bit of holiday cheer your home needs. We’re burning ours by the fire.
Very nice description. First impression smelling the wax, this candle smelled all blue pine and fir to me but I decided to ask my husband (my pine expert) what he thought and he agreed… pine and fir. Crisp, fresh and full of holiday magic.
Time to see how this candle performs!
I popped this refill right into my vessel and lit the wicks in my bedroom. Within 30 minutes, I had a nice melt pool but not quite complete so I used my wick dipper to push the access wax that wouldn’t melt into the melt pool and that fixed it. From then on out, it burned perfect. The aroma… a freshly cut Christmas tree wafted all throughout my bedroom. The first few hours, the scent throw seemed pretty soft but then towards the end of the day, the aroma really came to life and traveled everywhere.
After several days of burning this candle, I’m sticking to my original assessment… fresh pine and fir. A Christmas tree all the way. I never did detect cedarwood, ylang or winterberry but maybe my nose wasn’t sophisticated enough to pick up on those notes. Regardless, I loved it.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle between a 6 and 7 in a large room. 9/10 in a medium and smaller rooms. I enjoyed the aroma in my large bedroom but I probably would have even more had it been in a slightly smaller room. Something to keep in mind should you purchase this fragrance.
How did my Winter Pine candle burn?
This refill burned pretty good. It did struggle in the beginning but with a bit of help, the candle righted itself for a perfect burn.
Closing to my review:
Winter Pine from Bijou was an excellent rendition of that classic Christmas tree scent we all love. Fresh and authentic.
If you love beautiful candles and are in the mood for something luxurious and pampering, I highly recommend this company. These candles are so lovely, you’ll want to showcase them during the holidays. And let’s not forget Christmas is around the corner. These candles are a perfect gift for any candle lover.
Happy candle hunting!
