First impression of White Pear Verbena:

White Pear Verbena was a candle I purchased at Kohl’s Department store. Yep, they have quite the selection of candles there and this one I couldn’t resist purchasing.

Here is the scent description for White Pear Verbena:

A unique paring of juicy white pear and verbena is infused with lemongrass, red berry, freesia, black pepper and musk in this enticing fruity indulgence.

Mmm! That description sounds lovely. I actually fell in love with the scent simply based off cold sniff and read the description much later. The wax smelled like sweet pear with hints of freesia and musk. It was very pretty and not your average fruity scent. I think that’s why I liked it so much.

Time to light my candle!

I decided to stay conservative and light this candle in a small bathroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the last drop of wax. Once the wick was lit, it took roughly 15 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the fragrance… a very lovely aroma of sweet pear and I’m going to say lemongrass with hints of freesia. It was sweet and fresh all at once. In fact, I kept my nose up to the candle for awhile to get a feel for what else was in the scent description and I really didn’t detect anything else. No verbena, red berry, black pepper or musk. To me, this fragrance was a sweet pear with fresh lemongrass and a hint of floral. I loved it but then I’ve always been a fan of anything that has lemongrass in it. The only downside, this candle was very light. For a 3 wick candle, it should have easily fragranced a medium size room but it didn’t. It gave a perfect scent throw in a really small room so that’s where it stayed.

Strength – I would rate this candle a 6/7 in a really small room. 4 or less in a medium. Wouldn’t even attempt burning this candle in a large room.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end. A+

Closing to my review:

I really enjoyed White Pear Verbena from Sonoma Lifestyle. I just wish the scent throw would have been a lot stronger so I could have enjoyed the fragrance in a larger room. Should you run across the candle, pop off the lid and smell the wax. If you love sweet pear scents, you may end uppurchasing one.
