Introduction to my White Barn Candle Lavender Vanilla review:
White Barn Candles are a very popular brand sold exclusively at Bath & Body Works. Back in the 90’s, they used to have stand alone stores in malls (and always connected to a Bath & Body
Works store) but that slowly got phased out. I don’t know why…. I used to love (and spend a fortune) in that store back in the day.Bath & Body Works over the last several years sort of phased out White Barn Candles completely, at least what I could see anyway. When you looked at their candles, it was always Slatkin & Co. brand on the labels, not White Barn. Not sure why and I never asked. All I know is this years season of candles, I’m seeing White Barn Candles on the labels more now than Slatkin. That made me happy… I’ve always liked White Barn and I’ve missed this line of candles.
Bath & Body Works changes and rotates their scents every few months it seems so if you see a scent you love, buy it and stock up because you could go back a month or more later to get more and they’re gone (been there, done that.) They may come back the following year but you never know. When this slew of seasonal candles came in… I bought the lot and decided to review all of them for Candlefind.
Lavender Vanilla was next on my list.
What did my White Barn Lavender Vanilla candle look like?
These candles are really pretty. Very wide straight glass jars with three wicks perfectly placed. The wax color was a creamy white. The label has a picture of lavenders buds with a white background. The lid is flat and shiny chrome.
What did my Lavender Vanilla candle from White Barn Candles smell like?
This was a very surprise fragrance that I normally wouldn’t like or buy for myself. I am not a fan of floral scents at all… but I was at a friends house not long ago and she had this candle burning… instant intrigue as soon as I smelled it because to me, this was not your average floral scent. Here is the scent description from Bath & Body Works:
“An unforgettable fragrance! You’ll love this blend of timeless lavender and creamy vanilla, with touches of cedarwood, delicate jasmine and citrus.”
White Barn Candles version of Lavender Vanilla is a really beautiful fragrance and true to it’s name. It has so many different elements going on… it’s herbal, sweet, creamy and fresh all at the same time. Okay, “maybe” it has a teeny bit of floral going on but we’re talking slight. Overall, it’s a really calming/soothing scent. The vanilla is smooth and creamy and really toned down the lavender which I loved. The cedarwood in the description is very subtle but I could smell it… I think that may be the herbal aspect I detected. 
Not smelling much of the jasmine or citrus.This fragrance really takes on a soothing herbal scent and boy is this candle strong! I lit this candle in my master bedroom which is a huge room and I started smelling it within a few minutes of lighting it. Within 15 minutes, the fragrance traveled all through the upper level of my house. Super strong but not headache inducing strong if that makes sense. Would also like to add – this was a “husband” approved scent. 🙂 I only get comments on my candles if he loves or hates them. This one, he loved and he dislikes floral scents as much as I do.
In closing, two thumbs up on White Barn Candles Lavender Vanilla. Highly-highly recommend.
How did my White Barn Lavender Vanilla candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. In the beginning, I had to keep my wicks trimmed quite a bit but about halfway down the candle, they tapered down to perfect even flames. No wasted wax.
Overall opinion of my Lavender Vanilla candle from White Barn:
Loved this candle! My whole family did. I am so glad White Barn is back in Bath & Body Works stores. I’ve missed them and will for sure be stocking up on this scent with their next sale. 
Also wanted to add before closing this up, although these candles are large, with three wicks, they burn fast. Priced at $20.00, that can be expensive so if I were you, I’d wait for one of their sales. They’re always running a 2 for $22 sale every other month or so. That’s when you nab these candles. If you have a store near you, perfect. You can smell all their scents right there. Or if you don’t have a store nearby to shop (that be me), you can purchase pretty much every scent on their website. They ship fast and package their candles very well. I love shopping on their website.Lavender Vanilla is a perfect scent to burn all year long. It’s fresh, herbal, sweet and amazing. I loved it!
