You can count on Walmart if you need fragrance in a hurry, as their range of wax melts seem never endless and they are incredibly affordable. We’ve found them to be top performers as far as strength and longevity, even if they are the most creative or decorative. I recently picked up some packs of Whipped Vanilla & Buttercream from the Better Homes & Gardens brand. This line of wax melts is made by Rimports, so it’s definitely in the mass produced category. The thought of some delicious creamy and fruity notes this time of year sounded like a wonderful idea to me!
Who Is Whipped Vanilla & Blackberry For?
If you are needing some affordable wax melts, you can’t beat this brand, for sure. This particular fragrance is perfect for those who love fruity fragrances. If you are looking for sweeter types of scents than the heavier ones that are around for the holidays, definitely load this one up in your cart.
What did we test?
What did we like about Whipped Vanilla & Blackberry?
This fragrance is very fruity and sweet – more of a fruit-type of sweetness instead of candy-like. It smelled like a big bowl of berries freshly squeezed – yum! The scent strength was strong but not overpowering, where one cube was all that was needed to scent up a fairly large, open space. I found the scent lasted longest in my bulb melter, but I got more of an even and long-lasting burn in the tealight burner.
As far as cleanup, nothing could be easier. When using the freezer method, the used wax popped right out. Nothing to clean up afterwards! I also used the cotton ball method and pouring out the wax while warm. While those methods were easy, I did have to give some extra rubs to get the dye coloring out of my wax bowls.
What didn't we like about Whipped Vanilla & Blackberry?

- Cranberry Buttercream, ScentSationals. This is a deliciously fruity fragrance with creamy vanilla in the mix. It is also a bit better of a fragrance thrower. It is also made by Rimports, though, so if what exactly is included is a must-know, this would not work for you.
- Blueberry Torte, Cheryl’s Candles & Gifts. This is a berry burst of fragrance with plenty of vanilla notes. This is more of a bakery scent than just fruity and it is super strong.
- Sweet Sugar Mist, Candleberry. If you are looking for more vanilla notes with hints of berries, this is an excellent choice.
