When shopping Etsy, I ran across the indie wax melt company Westbury Candle Co. I was immediately drawn to the beautifully decorated clamshells and reasonable prices. One of the melts I purchased was Sweet As Honey, along with Honeysuckle Happy. 

Who Is Sweet Like Honey For?

This is a fantastic fragrance for light floral fans, as there are some sweet honey notes blended with the smell of fresh wildflowers. It is a perfect Spring fragrance. If you prefer decorative melts with color, glitter, and mica, this is a good choice.

This is also a perfect melt to try if you prefer soy wax melts. If you are wanting to shop a small, indie company as opposed to the big box candle companies, be sure to drop in on Westbury and check them out.

What did we test?

The Sweet As Honey wax melt was a clamshell style natural soy wax melt from Westbury Candle Co. It weighed in as 3 ounces of soy wax – the clamshell package was full! The label on front was a bright yellow and had a depiction of a closeup of a honeybee buzzing around some wildflowers. The company and scent names were clearly displayed on this outside label.

The wax was a buttery yellow color and it was decorated with plenty of glitter and mica across the top.

What did we like about Sweet Like Honey?

The first thing that we loved so much was how full this clamshell was! We are used to approximately 2.4-2.5 ounces of wax per clamshell, but this clam held a good 3 ounces of wax. We also loved the bling-bling…the top of the wax melt was decorated with pretty bits of glitter and mica, just making us extra happy.

As far as the fragrance, it was a slightly sweet scent with the delicate touch of honey that blended oh-so-well with the scent of fresh wildflowers. The longer that this fragrance was in the melter, the buttery notes of vanilla were more noticeable and made this scent smooth and sweet.

What didn't we like about Sweet Like Honey?

While we admittedly love the look of the bling from glitter and mica, it is admittedly a bit harder during cleanup time. The wax was easier to pour straight out from my melters, but it left behind a residue that needed a little extra elbow grease.
When using the freezer method to clean out my wax melter, the soy wax was still a bit difficult to get out of my melter. The wax did harden up but needed to be scraped out of the bowl. However, it was easier to clean out all the glitter and mica by using this method rather than the pour-out hot method.
