Product Description: This is a Woody fragrance. It’s a bit chilly in your cabin — grab your favorite cozy flannel and warm up with the scents of black pepper, cinnamon, and sandalwood. Top notes: Black Pepper, Lemon, Orange. Middle notes: Cypress, Coriander, Jasmine, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus. Base notes: Flannel, Musky, Patchouli, Vetiver, Sandalwood. Top note is the initial impression of the fragrance, middle note is the main body of the scent and base is its final impression.

Log Cabin Flannel is part of the Fall 2024 Cottage Collection from Yankee Candle, which also included the 5 other scents Woodland Weekend Memories, Pumpkin Cinnamon Swirl, Campfire Cocktail, Paddling on the Lake, and Afternoon Scrapbooking. We opted to try the Log Cabin Flannel scent in the Easy MeltCup. Easy MeltCups are Yankee Candle’s version of wax melts that you can purchase on their website. (They do have wax melts in large clamshell packaging that you can purchase in various stores such as WalMart.) The Easy MeltCups are plastic tubs filled with scented wax, complete with a snap on lid to help preserve the fragrance. When ready to use an Easy MeltCup, you simply remove the lid and place it on Yankee’s Scenterpiece warmerand the scent fills the room as the wax melts.

Who Is Log Cabin Flannel For?

This is a fragrance for those who love woodsy and masculine scents. It is very good if looking for a comfy, cozy scent that you want during the chilly months of the year. The Easy MeltCups are great if you like quick changing of scents. It is also useful for a wide scent throw without being too strong or overpowering.
Candlefind has adopted a standard wax melting process in order to test new fragrances. We do have to modify it a bit for the Easy MeltCups as they are designed to be melted specifically in the Yankee Candle Scenterpiece warmers.

What did we test?

We tested the standard Yankee Candle Easy MeltCup which is a plastic container with a registered weight of 2.2 ounces. This particular Easy MeltCup had a picture of stacked flannel sheets on the front label. The wax itself was a dark, forest green color.

It doesn’t matter which Scenterpiece you use for the Easy MeltCups as they all produce the same amount of heat. For this Easy MeltCup, we used the Langham White melter which did have a timer included.

What did we like about Log Cabin Flannel?

We used this Easy MeltCup when it was still cold outside and it was absolutely perfect to set the vibe. It was warm and cozy, with the woodsy notes making it a strong outdoorsy type of scent. On cold sniff, we mostly smelled masculine notes, with the vetiver and sandalwood predominating. Once it melted, more of the evergreen notes blossomed as did the eucalyptus and jasmine. This was an absolutely gorgeous fragrance that did permeate throughout our home once fully melted.

This was a long-lasting wax melt. The website states the Easy MeltCups have up to 24 hours of fragrance. We easily got that on the Scenterpiece and then cut up the wax and used it in our other melters for a bit extra life.

What didn't we like about Log Cabin Flannel?

As with any of the Easy MeltCups, one gripe would be the price. At the time of this review, the MeltCups were $6 each, though you can frequently find them on sale.

As far as this particular fragrance, we would have liked Log Cabin Flannel to be a tad bit stronger. The cold sniff will trick you, as it was fairly strong on cold sniff. It did have a good scent throw, though, so we could enjoy the fragrance throughout the house. Availability is also an issue, as it is not currently available on the website.

  • Flannel & Fir, Crossroads Candles This fragrance is very close to the Yankee Candle scent.
