We’re big foodies here at Candlefind, so we couldn’t wait to dive into the Caramel Popcorn wax melt from Kigen Candles. Kigen is a new-to-us brand and we are already in love. The wax melts are adorably decorated and the scents? Out of this world good!

Kigen Candles is a shop located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The owner creates 100% soy wax melts and some cute car diffusers. There is a store notation that they add new scents every week. There are also scented bath/body products and other items for purchase. The wax melts are ready to ship.

Who Is Caramel Popcorn For?

Of course, if you are a gourmand or bakery fragrance lover, this wax melt may be right up your alley. It is a sweet scent but not heavily sweet. This wax melt is great for the Fall or cooler months, but it would work well all throughout the year. If you like decorated wax melts, this would definitely work for you.
Candlefind has adopted a standard wax melting process in order to test new fragrances, which includes a tealight melter, a hotplate melter, and a bulb burner. This wax melt was tested before this process was instituted, so we can’t speak on all the burner types. We did use a hotplate melter for this Caramel Popcorn wax melt review.

What did we test?

The wax melts from Kigen Candles come in circular mini-cups complete with a lid. They weigh in at approximately 2 ounces each. The lid carried the label which had the company and scent names easily identifiable.

This particular wax melt was yellow in color and had a yellow drizzling on top. There were a few mica/glitter sprinkles on the very top. It was an incredibly beautiful wax melt!

What did we like about Caramel Popcorn?

The Caramel Popcorn wax melt smelled like rich, buttery caramel with just a bit of saltiness to it. It had a really good cold scent throw and once warmed, it was fantastic! The melt did well in our electric hot plate melter and filled the room with caramel-ly goodness.

The scent was long lasting and enjoyable from start to finish. It was super easy to clean up, too, even with the decorations on top. We used cotton balls to soak up the melted wax and to clean out our dish.

What didn't we like about Caramel Popcorn?

We actually don’t see this particular wax melt on the Kigen Candles’ website anymore. We aren’t sure if this scent has been discontinued or simply just not in stock, as all of the wax melts posted are ready to ship. So availability can be an issue if you are looking for it for a specific time.
This wax melt was not as easy to remove from our melters once cooled. The freezer method was a bit sloppy and it was best removed while warmed. We used cotton balls to soak up the wax nd then clean out the plate.
