Introduction to my review:
This is my second review of Bath & Body Works gorgeous Mediterranean themed candles – which are not listed on their site right now but hoping they make a comeback at some point. I’m still not sure what they call this line but boy are they beautiful. They’re on the pricier side at $30.00 per candle but they’ve been offering these in their 2 for $22 sales so that’s the time to grab one (or two) if you’re interested.
I reviewed Sparkling Amber, a different candle in this line not long ago- review here. Next up… Topaz Waters.
What did my candles look like?
This candle is really pretty… this line of candles reminds me of beautiful Indian Sari’s. The glass was a lovely teal color with a striking gold pattern wrapped around the candle. The lid was a gold/bronze color with an exotic scroll-work embossed into the lid. The wax color was the same color as the glass… a beautiful and deep teal color.
What did my candle smell like?
This was a really interesting fragrance. It was a mix of fresh ozone and sensual musk. I found it to be a little on the masculine side and really unique. Here is the scent description from Bath & Body Works website:
“Soothing, inspiring mixture of calm blue topaz waters, fresh moss and light musk.”
I lit this candle in a big bedroom and it took about 20 minutes or so to really start noticing the scent. I don’t know what “blue topaz waters” is supposed to smell like but I could definitely make out the ozone and musk… both blended together reminded me of a soft unisex cologne. It was really pretty and could easily cross over to their bath and body line. The overall scent was a powdery soft perfume fragrance.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this between a 6 and 7… This fragrance was on the softer side and not overpowering at all (which was nice) – anything stronger would have been too much.
My candle burned perfect. No wick issues, clean burn with no wasted wax. A+
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed this candle. My husband never commented on it the entire time it was burning in our bedroom so it must not have been too bad or I would have heard about it. Sometimes no comment is just as good as a positive endorsement from him.
The fragrance was unique and boy is this candle gorgeous burning… I actually think I enjoyed watching it burn more than the scent. The wax glows a beautiful teal color and the effect was really striking.
If you love delicate perfume type fragrances, you’ll love this candle. Definitely go check it out if Bath & Body Works brings them back.
Happy candle hunting!
