Intro To My Candle Review
I can’t believe it’s Fall already! Where does the time go??? When the cooler weather hits, though, it’s time to break out those warm, spicy scents. I don’t really melt or burn by the season, but something about Fall makes pumpkin scents smell that much better. That’s why I was anxious to try Toasted Pumpkin Spice from Simplistic Candle Shoppe. They rotate their candle offerings out by season, so this one is readily available on site at the moment.
First Impressions of My Candle
This candle was the 8oz size, housed in my favorite status jar style. White wax, single wick – pretty straightforward design. Where I really fell in love was when I took off the lid. I could smell the creamy bits of pumpkin – smooth and buttery. Delicious! I don’t like scents that are too spicy, but this was spot on. Just a hint of pumpkin spice to give the scent a little zip. Dee. Lish. Us.
It was time to check out the scent description to see if what I was smelling matched up…

Whoa! That sounded complex and lovely. I will say on cold sniff this was definitely not your typical pumpkin scent – it did have some different notes and I thought it had a bit of a buttery smell on cold sniff. I wasn’t getting the other mix of notes listed in the scent description, but it certainly made me realize why this scent was a little bit off the beaten pumpkin path…in a good way!
I decided to light this candle in a guest bathroom so I could get the full complement of scents while burning. It took about 30 minutes for it to get a nice, full wax melt pool. That’s when I was able to really appreciate the fullness of this scent. Mmmmm – divine! The pumpkin had just a hint of smokiness to it and remained creamy and buttery. The spiciness was mellow and smooth, slightly sweet. It was more of a background element – it didn’t overpower the scent at all. It added a little more depth and complexity, making this scent melt-in-your mouth good.
The scent was strong enough to fill the room it was in & I could tell it was burning every time I entered. I could smell the scent wafting on out just past the door, making for a great scent throw, too.
How Did My Candle Perform?
As mentioned, it really didn’t take long to get a full wax melt pool going. The melt pool stayed nice and even – I had absolutely no wasted wax on the sides. My wick was easy to maintain with no black sooting noted. I did find I needed to keep this wick a little bit longer than I normally would to keep my flame from smoldering.
Closing To My Candle Review
This was another great candle from Simplistic Candle Shoppe. Much like my Sea Salt & Orchid candle, this one provided a great 
burn from start to finish. I really loved the clean look of this candle and the burn itself was pretty flawless. If you find yourself looking for a pumpkin scent this Fall that’s a bit more complex, this would be a good one to try.
