Introduction to my review:
I’ve always been a huge fan of Bluewick candles and I’d say they’re in my top 5 of luxury brands I turn to. For many reasons… #1, their website is beautiful, well designed and easy to navigate. I love big and crisp pictures to look at and this company delivers. #2, I love their selection of candles and fragrances. They have a variety of collections with exotic themes and styles to choose from and although it’s not a huge selection, it’s decent. #3, I love their generous size candles and the packaging with each fragrance is amazing, meeting all my expectations in a luxury brand. And lastly, their prices are very reasonable… not to mention their incredible sales they run. This candle “Tangier” I’m reviewing today I purchased at 40% off. What a deal!!
I don’t see Tangier on their list anymore but I know it’s one of their most popular and signature scents. I do see it on other sites available to purchase so I’m guessing it’s a seasonal fragrance.
What did my Tangier candle smell like?
Smelling this candle after months of spicy scents had my mouth watering for its sweet citrus’y aroma. I love orange fragrances that are authentic and oh my goodness was this candle perfect. Here is the scent description:
“The tangerine became an overnight sensation when it first shipped from the port of Tangier, Morocco. Forward more than a century when Bluewick founder, Art Maruyama, found himself fascinated by the tangerines growing on trees outside his childhood home. Fitting that our first candle sensation, and Bluewick’s ultimate direction would be inspired by this exotic delicacy.”
When I first popped off the lid to smell the wax, sweet orange hit my nose. It reminded me of oranges and sweet sugar.
I started this candle in small room to test out and ended up leaving it there from start to finish and I’m so glad I did. Every time I walked by the room I had this candle burning in… the fresh aroma of oranges surrounded me and it instantly put a smile on my face. It was fresh, clean and perfect.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7. It gave a stead and nice medium scent throw.
This candle had a pretty tough time reaching full melt pools with each lighting. Not sure why. With a little help using a wick dipper, I was able to push the leftover wax left on the jar walls into the wax pool so nothing was wasted. A little extra bit of work but worth it.
Closing to my review:
This was a very enjoyable fragrance and I loved it. Would I purchase it again? Absolutely. If you love orange citrus fragrance… this is a must try.
If this brand is a little too pricey for you… watch for a sale… they have some incredible ones!
Happy candle hunting!
