Introduction to my review:

I have been a fan of Gold Canyon Candles for well over a decade. Lemon Chiffon from Gold Canyon was the first scented candle I ever burned… and that was the candle that started me on this fun journey I’ve been on ever since.

I don’t burn their candles as often as I used to now that I’m reviewing so many other brands but I still find myself longing for those classic Gold Canyon scents I loved and to this day… still do. Sweet Pea is one of those fragrances I always go back to, every spring without fail…. and I can’t believe I’m just now reviewing it. It’s a staple fragrance in my house going back to 2003. It signifies spring for me… it’s fresh, sweet and just plain pretty.

What did my candle smell like?

Let’s start off with the scent description for Sweet Pea:

“Sweet. Fruity. Floral. Notes of Raspberry, Sweet Pea & Lilies.”

That’s not the greatest scent description for this candle. I don’t know if they changed it to keep things simple or what but that really doesn’t do this scent justice at all. This fragrance is so much more and to be clear for those of you that dislike floral scents… this scent is not floral – at all. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like floral scents myself.

To me, Sweet Pea is really fruity… it has loads of sweet sugar with raspberries and maybe hints of floral but we’re talking minor miniscule hints of floral that you can barely even detect. This scent is so sweet and pretty… and fresh! Oh my goodness is it fresh! You walk into the room it’s burning in and you can’t help but stop and smile, taking deep breathes in appreciation. It’s that kind of fragrance.

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this candle an 8. It’s pretty strong. Gold Canyon candles have 2 wicks (which I love) so melt pools form pretty quickly. Once lit, it didn’t take very long to start noticing the fragrance… after a good 20 minutes, I had total room saturation and that’s burning it in my big master bedroom. The fragrance traveled into my open bathroom and traveled well outside the room into my living area as well. Love the strength of this fragrance!

How did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. Full melt pools, clean and even burns. A+

Closing to my review:

Sweet Pea from Gold Canyon will always be a huge favorite of mine and I highly recommend it for those searching for a sweet and fresh “girly” kind of fragrance. It’s just one of those scents that always brings a smile to my face. It’s fresh and just plain lovely.

Gold Canyon candles are purchased through demonstrators so you’ll have to find one locally or there are a ton of websites online to shop with if that’s your preference.
